My thoughts...
Religious beliefs aside, if you really want the government to step in and start taking away people's rights, you're giving them the power to take away yours as well.
These politicians are disgusting, and want to control everything. We can't have that.We need to go back to the way things were, when the public had direct affects on the Government, not the Corporations and rich religious crazy people. They are supposed to represent US, not THEMSELVES.
If you go and read the Leadershift book, it will give you a great outline. If the government has the power to take away our rights, it has the power to take over our lives. And we are GIVING it that power by not ACTING as we should. Voting isn't about the parties, it's about choosing good leaders. And only when everyone becomes aware of this, will our country straighten itself out. If it can't straighten itself out, then it needs to be completely re-done. Another reason to read Leadershift. And I'm celebrating today. Marriage Equality and Senator Wendy R. Davis's Filibuster, has nothing to do with the government and everthing to do with PRIVATE, PERSONAL decisions that the government wants to TAKE AWAY from its citizens. As the famous saying goes, "First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the socialists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Catholic. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me." -Martin Niemöller
