Ugh, children. They thought they were so clever, barricading the door. Well you know what, so had those guys in Le Mis! And yet no one was berating them over things like copyright infringement or taking someone’s land! It was all zombies this and skeletons that. Well, Columbus could see right through that bull. He was taking that one kid to court r
ight after this mess was cleaned up.
And speaking of… he nudged Wonka, nodding towards the quieting group. It was time for the big reveal. As soon as the boss counted off, Columbus and Tort flung the heavy velvet curtains on the side of the room wide open, framing the quartet! He eyed the girl next to him who didn’t seem to be getting the whole pose thing. Loser.
With a booming voice he announced, “Prepared for trouble and make it doub- quadruple!” Tortoise glared at him from across the way and Columbus smiled sheepishly. “That was definitely not stolen from a children’s cartoon!” he quickly added.
Wonka deflated at his cohorts, and carefully stood right in front of their newest addition – a female comrade with long black hair and a long white dress. Seeing as everyone was quite put off (and sweaty, how disgusting!) he happily stuck is cane out and leaned on it. “Hello again, lovelies! Fancy seeing you all here! Remember us!?” he faux gushed over them, and then waited patiently for someone to ask why they were here.

Mint had still forgotten what she was orginally doing, but seeing as they now had a NEW thing to worry about, she was unlike to remember it any time soon. Instead, Mint decided now would be the perfect time to start carving a piece of wood. She laid on the floor and began work on a piece a little bigger then her hand.
holly-alice
“Hey, it was /glitter/ gel pen!” Columbus protested. He was immediately elbowed in the face, which he immediately cradled. In a nasally voice he whined, “I just got that fixed!”
Candied-Cyanide
Emmelyn blinks slowly, trying to focus a little more on the student before her. It was a little scarecrow boy, as far as she could tell. She mutters a greeting with a weak smile, feeling her hairs drip to the floor her body feeling sore and liquidy. She was curled up against Robin’s chest, like a small child. Wait, weren’t they at the water fountain just a moment ago…? Oh God, she hadn’t had fainted had she..?
Robin looked from the display in front of her back to Emm, and gasped in surprise. “Oh!! Are you awake? How are you Em?” She asked worriedly. She couldn’t think of anything to do- maybe put her over some ice later?
CelLeo
Gil crossed his arms and leaned back from his position in the air, narrowing his eyes. “And who are you? Here to teach us about a cool new band we ‘probably haven’t heard of?’” After this jab, he laughed. “I mean, look at these clowns! A turtle, a man wearing mostly pink, and this guy? So intimidating.”
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: The scarecrow’s head perked up at the sound of voices. Who were these people? He hadn’t seen anyone since he had gone to find the heavy tombstones for blocking the main entrance door. Unfortunately, he had gotten trapped inside the Halloween common room before transforming into an insect to get out again. And then he had to do it all over again to get into the library. He scrambled to his boots when these…strange people burst in.
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: He tilted his head in confusion. “I’m sorry but I don’t think I remember you….” Hollow knew he was being rude but he didn’t really recognise any of them
CelLeo
“Yeah, chill Jack, none of us do.” The genie waved off the scarecrow and stood up, striding over to the group of… Adults? “So, who are you losers?” He asked again, crossing his arms again.
holly-alice
Morgan pinched the space between her eyes. “Sweet shamrocks, not you again. What could you possibly want right now?” She suddenly froze, then looked up at them. “You did not.”
Robin nearly let Emmy slip from her hands before getting a better grip. She looked between the other confused faces and muttered out an “Uh…..uhhh?”
ShadowStrike
Eris looked over at the new group of adults and sighed “What are those losers doing here? weren’t they the people who tried to kidnap someone?”
Haar went to raise a finger and say something to this disastrous mess, but instead he just wearily let his shoulders drop. Morgan pretty much had this whole thing summed up.
Alec let out a groan. “I’m so sick of thiiiiiiiiiiiis! Why can’t things be easyyyy for once!”
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: “Jack?” he murmered, getting even more confused as watched the genie walk off towards these… people….and reptile. “But I’m not Mr Jack…”
Alice looked up for a moment sharply. She didn’t like what was going on here (but it still was sort of interesting~). Still, shouldn’t their main concern still be leaving?
holly-alice
Tortoise pushed up his glasses and sighed. “No… we did no. This isn’t our fault… mostly.” He nervously shuffled his foot at the last part, hoping someone else would continue explaining. He was just too slow for the whole story.
Hans was REALLY REALLY extra glad he had helped barricade the door closed! He leaned over to Franz and whispered/sang “This is gettin’ kiiiindaaa fucking weiiiiirrrddd~” Franz nodded and kept his eyes fixed on the flamboyant men. What a long day!
holly-alice
Fred, now back in humanoid form, crossed her arms. She glanced sidewise at Eris and snickered. “They tried to kidnap someone. Yeah right.”
Wonka took a step back for a moment at all the harsh looks. Geez did these people even KNOW who they were? Damn-near celebrities! This was the worst paparazzi he’s ever seen. After Tort was done (it took awhile), he put his hands up in defense, faking being offended by the crowd. “And here you think because we –(He stole a sympathetic look)- HAPPEN to have a poor reputation (and poor credit but that’s not important), that WE can be BLAMED for such a terrible mistake that one of YOUR OWN has caused? Not that I’m playing the blame game, but should blame be placed….” He sadly looked over the kids before his face light with a grin, “Why, it’s not in OUR direction hm?”
holly-alice
Wren hip checked Alec and stiffened. “They’re so on to us,” she whispered harshly, as if the teachers didn’t already know they had something to do with it. “How do they even know about the book?”
Candied-Cyanide
Emmelyn stirs slightly in Robins arms, her eyes fluttering open as she winces softly, stemming the urge to get sick, the room was spinning quite uncomfortably.
ShadowStrike
Eris stepped over to Gil’s side “It was an accident, We didn’t know what would happen.” She was quick to try to at least lessen the blame on him “Gil isn’t completely to blame, I lead him to the book and i helped him cast the spell. In our defense it was in a book written in sparkly gel pen so we really didn’t think to much of it.”
CelLeo
“How did you know what kind of pen it was?” Gil asked, snapping out of his self-made pity party. “Answer me, you whacked out barista!” After yelling at Columbus, he lunged towards him in anger.
Candied-Cyanide
Em turns attention slowly to her and say simply, “I feel like I’m melting.” Laughing softly, her head clearing a little now.
Alec rubbed where he was hip checked and sheepishly muttered a “I might have helped” between the other two. He couldn’t bring himself to look at anyone else until the anitfounders mentioned the book, too. They hadn’t….they never said that it was through a book! “What’s going on?” he asked suspiciously to Gil, Eris and Wren.
Candied-Cyanide
Em turns attention slowly to her and say simply, “I feel like I’m melting.” Laughing softly, her head clearing a little now. She thinks for a moment, recalling her better moments from early at which she could stand a little straighter, and looking down she could see her skin growing cloudy and awful looking. Gross, she really was sick. “If you don’t mind sharing some, if you have any, drinking something helps, as long as it’s not milk. ” She mentally slaps herself, cringing at her own words, who in the world would just have a glass of water at a time like this….? As far as she knew they were in a tunnel and unless someone was extremely prepared, water didn’t just appear in peoples’ pockets.
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: Hollow gave Em an encouraging smile before frowning. Melting was bad right? Maybe in this case it was at least. He looked around for some sort of inspiration when he spotted Mint on the ground. “Mint!” Thankfully she wasn’t too far from where he and the others were so he didn’t have to leave them. Bending down to her level, he said “Thank Halloween you’re okay!”
Pinkcatninja
Mint looked up from her carving. She gave Hollow a confused look. “Why wouldn’t I be?” She said, before returning to her work.
holly-alice
Tortoise covered his face and moaned. “Nice going Columb-doofus.”
Columbus crossed his arms and grunted, “That doesn’t even make sense.”’ Nodding to the woman next to them he suggested, “Maybe you should explain.”
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: He had to let a small chuckle at that, knowing that she was just fine. He than realized that the elf would know more about the library than he did. “Mint, do you know if the library has any water at all?”
holly-alice
Wren set her hands on hips and squinted. Something was not right about these guys. Gaining courage she blurted, “Hey, what’s going on?!”
Pinkcatninja
Mint kept on carving. “I dink dere is one of those drinkin things on the far wall. Unless they somehow changed dat in the last month or two.. I didn’t check when I was in here early-ers”
The woman behind the three slowly peaked out to see the confused faces. “This is all very wrong,” she said to her cohorts before Wonka was about to lightly push her back behind them. Instead, she moved in front and studied those around her. “Children and their supervisors, the fault would actually belong to my cohorts.” She said elegantly as the three next to her sighed and huffed in anger. “I believe, in your terms, they have intended to “set you up” she said, worriedly, but that is not of our most concern! At the moment, we are all in danger.” Firmly believing she hasn’t just stated the painfully obvious, she smiled, proud of her goodwork.
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: The scarecrow sighed with relief. “That’s great news! I’ll look for it now! Thank you Mint!” He stood up was about to return to Robin and Em when he stopped and looked back with a serious expression (or as serious as he could make it). “I don’t want to judge those people over there,” he nodded to the anti-founders, “But if they try and ‘kidnap’ you, then call me and I’ll come back!“ Hollow nodded to himself before continuing back to Robin and Em.
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: Trotting quickly over to the pair, the scarecrow quickly said, “Em! I asked Mint about the water and she said there was a drinking thing on the far wall.”
ShadowStrike
Eris looked the woman over “And what, you want to help?” she scoffed
Robin was pretty confused about all of this. She tried to listen to Em and Hollow but only caught some of it between the antifounders parading around and the lady speaking. It seemed pretty weird she’d rat out her own cohorts, but for now Robin just looked at Hollow blankly. “Great work!” She said, sure whatever he did was great work anyway!
Candied-Cyanide
Em smiles weakly and hugs the toy Mint had give her to her chest thanking him with a relieved sigh, “Thanks… Do I know your name? I’m really sorry if I do, I’m all out of sorts today.”
Alec immediately lit up, “SO IT WASN’T OUR FAULT THEN?” He looked over to his friends before pumping a fist in the air, “ALLLL RIGHT. WREN DID YOU HEAR THAT”
holly-alice
Fred smirked and popped a hip. “Can you even help?” she quipped. “So far you’ve been standing around while the real women have been doing the work!”
Alice immediately backed Fred up, “Sincerely, what on earth is going on?? And why couldn’t this wait until we were out of the Academy?” Her crows outside assured her the library was still a safe spot, but she didn’t want to risk anything.
holly-alice
Wren groaned, rubbing the sides of her hair violently so that when she pulled her hands away the left twin bird nests. “Oh good! So all we did was fall for their stupid trap!” She walked in a small circle before resting on one of the chairs. “So how do we fix it?” she shot back to the wilting group.
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: Hollow gave Robin a grin, happy (no, MORE than happy) that he was useful. He shook his head in response to Em’s question. “That’s okay, we haven’t really talked before now. My name is Hollow!” Hgazed over to were the Anti-founders were talking with some of the teachers and with some of the other students by the sounds of it. In his quest to help find water, he had only been half listening to what was being said.
Candied-Cyanide
Em smiles at him and introduces herself, “I’m Emmelyn, and I promise, I am not quite as helpless as this normally.” But as she finishes she follows his wandering gaze to the congregation in the front… What was going on…?
Kryss
Cici jumped up immediately as soon as the antifounders revealed themselves. Glaring at Wonka in particular, she crossed her arms. She remembered this hooligan, and she wasn’t about to let him pull any hijnks on her watch. If she could help it, that was
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: Hollow quickly looked back at her. He wasn’t really sure why she said that she was helpless. There were lots of people to help her. “I don’t think you are that because that’s what friends are for. We help each other!” As his carved eyes returned to the commotion infront of them, he replied, “I’m not sure but I think Eris said they tried to kidnap people before but they might not being doing that now. I only heard bits and pieces but it sounds like they know what happened at the graveyard.”
holly-alice
Babd rubbed her chin, feigning thoughtfulness. “Well, I do believe we are all here for a reason are we not? There’s a… hm.. passage? Yes a passage somewhere in this library.” She turned for a few seconds before starting over to a wall. “I believe it’s somewhere over… Oh never mind it for now. What we need are some brave, ahem, heroes to gain the trust of my sister. If we don’t well, I don’t see us surviving the other one.” She hummed as she surveyed the wall before approaching a bookshelf. After brushing over the wooden side a few times, she slipped her hand between the bookcases and pressed. The case swung open and she stepped aside, presenting it like a prize. “So, who will aid me, Babd, third of the Morrigan?”
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: “Well, I’m not sure what happened. It was when we had the whole Prank War going on.” Hollow shuddered at the memory of his donkey ears. Thank Halloween he managed to get rid of them quickly.
Candied-Cyanide
Emmelyn raises an eyebrow, Prank war? She really needed to get out more…
ShadowStrike
Eris tilted her head “What do you mean, gain her trust?” she cautiously stepped towards the now open book case.
Robin half listened to Emm and Hollow, but found herself going through the tunnel too. “What to you mean, third of the Morrigan?” she asked, a bit worried now. She still had nightmares about facing the Morrigan, truth be told!
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: Seeing Em’s confusion, he tried to explain. “Oh, you might not of been here when it happened. Though, it was kinda getting bad near the end so that might of beena good thing that you weren’t. Miss Fritzpatrick came into our class one day and said that Mr Grimm stole her trading cards but Mr Grimm said he didn’t. So Miss Fritzpatrick got really scary and declared a prank war on the Halloween class.”
holly-alice
Wren shrunk down in her chair. No way was she joining some search party. It was just another way to get in more trouble.
Alec’s joy left him fairly quickly when the bad mood of the room caught up. He didn’t want anymore to do with this honestly, but seeing the kids going through the tunnel made him nervous. “Come on Wren,” he said, taking her hand and following Eris and the rest of the party. “Beats being here.”
Candied-Cyanide
Immediately picturing the whole scene she feels bad for Haar and the rest of the students. Thank goodness she wasn’t there… “Sorry I wasn’t there, if I could have helped, yknow…”
holly-alice
Morgan fidgeted uncomfortably. The last time the Morrigan was around, it hadn’t been good news. She wasn’t so sure that she wanted her students following this woman- the whole band of them really. She looked nervously at Alice, hoping for some guidance (or at least someone with a backbone).
Alice looked between the Morrigan and her Morgan before squinting at the antifounders. “I suppose we might as well follow,” she said, looking again to Cici to assure she was fine. “Anyplace out of here is better.”
holly-alice
Babd raised her eyebrows as some of the children up and entered the tunnel. “Well alright then. Anyone else coming with?” Finding a good argument for them to follow her, she added, “You don’t have to journey with me, but even going to your other school would be a better idea than staying here.” A loud thump at the door emphasized her point, and she
smiled knowingly.
@Twilightgirl12
Hollow: Hearing what Babd had said, he felt worry throughout his body (was that normal for a body made out of straw?). Part of him wanted to try and find a way out for everyone but another part didn’t want to leave Em while she wasn’t well. Hearing Em, he looked back at her with a smile. “"It’s okay, you don’t have to apologize! To be honest, I wasn’t that great at pranking. I just got caught most of the time. At one point, I had donkey ears! He frowned, he was sure he had forgotten something…OH! THE WATER! Taking her from Robin, (she was kinda gooey but Hollow figured he could clean the glove later.) and led her over to the water fount so she could drink. It was much but the bang in the door convinced them both to follow the others down into the tunnel.
holly-alice
Emma, John, and Milo stood from the place they’d claimed in the corner. Emma held tight to the frying pan and her brother’s hand, smiling confidently at him. They passed by the open bookshelf with Milo nodding at the ghostly woman.

Even for the summer, the entire academy was eerily silent on the inside. Boards and nails covered the windows (or most of them,) while the doors were blocked with desks, cabinets, and in some cases piles of homework the Halloween students never really bothered with, anyway. The students themselves were contained in the cafeteria, and while some knew what was going on, there was quite a few who remained clueless as to why bumps and noises could be heard from the outside. Unbeknownst to them, bodies of the living(un)dead from Halloweentown repeated rammed into the school, hoping to get their hands on ripe, plump, easy pickin’ brains from the students! The teachers were holding council right outside of the cafeteria, stumped and confused as to how to keep the students safe, unworried, and hopefully as out of the mess as possible. Haar, Sally, Morgan, Fred and Alice were as perplexed as ever, and all of them could feel eyes staring them down from somewhere…. Alec, leaning on a cafeteria windowsill, tiredly looked around to the faces of the other students. He was only half-done wallowing in self pity when a THUMP on the opposite side of the boarded window made his heart race, and he quickly took a few steps back. Even though he was safe, it still was pretty nerve wrecking! Surely the teachers could figure something out but, as for right now, they were REALLY taking their time in doing so! He sat in deep thought for a moment before deciding to look around for familiar faces. Eris rubbed her eyes, whatever that book did, it messed her up her magic was weighing, she was grogy, for some reason she was in the cafeteria? she looked around for someone to explain what was going on. Having found the cafeteria’s stock in the kitchen, Emma had taken to stress eating. Currently she was working on a bag of pretzels, while Milo cooked up “real food” for the others. Sure, Emma had seen Halloween Town before, and had even met undead students! That still couldn’t shake the extreme uneasiness she felt towards the zombies clawing at the windows. The thought sent her shoving another handful of salty carbs into her mouth. Emmy rubs her arms up and down shakily as she glances around the room. She didn’t like the paranoia in the air, not one bit. On top of which, she was feeling sick, really sick. Her hair, usually floating about her sjoulders, was dripping straight to the floor creating a sort of trail from thw puddle to the top of her head. She couldn’t levitate, and her bones ached with a chill so deep she thought she was going to freeze. Huffing with a shiver, she sets her mouth in a hard line, trying to focus on the texture of the table. Getting sick in front of everyone was the last thing anyone would have wanted, especially her. Glanceing up slightly, she skims over the heads of the students, unable to s tem her own curiousity. What in the world was really going on..? Martha grumped inside her head as she sat at the lunch table. The moss child from earlier had decided that locking her into a seat was safer then having her walk around. The gale of some people! She wasn’t even craving “Braaaains” The words spilled out of Martha’s mouth. She would have recoiled in horror but she had no control of her body. She wasn’t even sure she WOULD attack someone if she was let out. She wasn’t even a little huntgry. Well, the more she thought about it, she was actually in the mood for some icecream. But otherwise, no! Milo stirred a pot of tofu noodle soup. Comfort food for uncomfortable times! He leaned down and took a whiff, then sighed happily. All done! A few moments later, he’d set the pot on one of the cafeteria warmers and clapped his hands to grab attention. “Soup time!” Keeva didn’t look it but she internally was really scared at the situation, yes her cousin Romulus was originally from halloween town he never mentioned anything about the undead that she recalls. She tried her best to keep her composure but well it’s hard when your entire school is surrounded by the undead, so the best thing she could do is protect her friends and fellow classmates. Raphael worked at the counter, thinning dough out with a rolling pin, his mouth almost curving into a smile as he worked. Baking was just so soothing and routine, it lulled him into a state of non-thinking. Flour up to his elbows and all over his shirt, but all of the aprons had been hilariously large on him. He carefully kneaded the dough into the pan and returned to the bowl he’d been using earlier. He’d never made this recipe before, but he had a decent amount of experience in cooking when he was younger. Hopefully this would be done soon enough to prevent even greater tragedy. He smoothed the filling into the dough and slid it into the oven. Geoffrey had said this was a guarantee. Once it was set and baking, he walked over to Emma, wiping off his hands. “Are you doing okay?” he asked, crouching next to her. Eris spotted Alec and started to make her way towards him, surely HE would know what’s going on “alec!” she called out to him, trying to get his attention Robin sat at one of the cafeteria tables, trying to keep her cool. She couldn’t help but to light up a bit from the inside, which made her skin radiate a soothing yellow. She was biting her lip SO hard it might bleed, but she didn’t care! She wanted SO BAD to tell everyone what was going on, but Haar and Miss Morgan (even though they technically weren’t her teachers, anymore…) told her that it would just worry them even more. And because Robin was a leader, she SHOULD be helping everyone calm down, but instead the guilt of knowing and not telling burned inside her! She scratched her scalp and grinded her teeth before looking up and realizing a new student was right across the table. “I know you,” Robin said outloud to Emmy before her eyes lit up too, “Are you melting??? Do you need a towel? Or…a bucket?” Alec looked up (only ¾ths done wallowing in self pity, mind you!) and approached Eris, careful not to bump into anyone else on the way. “Are you feeling better?” He had started to twist his rings again, but hadn’t really noticed. It was clear to read the guilt written all over his face! Plus, he was still a little glitter-y from the book itself! Shay paced the lunchroom. Sure, he knew his friends were safe, but he just didn’t..feel safe. Maybe it was the fact that there was that..Brain loving skeleton and the impending horde of zombies outside. It seemed the most likely. He just couldn’t nap! If he did, he might not wake up! And he was getting tired.. He decided to make his way to Alec and Eris. They were smart, they’d know what to do. Wren sat cross-legged at one of the lunch room tables. She tapped her nails over the counter and grumbled. Why were people so weird? Why was this school so weird? When did she ever set off an evil spell or get attacked by zombies in Valentine’s Town? Well, she technically had set off an evil spell before, and she also technically hadn’t gotten attacked by zombies yet… Either way, this was dumb! She lazily watched Shay walk over to Alec and Eris and huffed. She wasn’t going over there. No way. She was definitely not- okay she was walking over there. Haar’s eyes were cloudy as he started at the other two academy teachers. He could have sworn he was doing something, but whatever it was had escaped him. He stood in silence for a moment before a coat hand delivered a very quick and precise slap to his face! Blinking hard and not registering what happened just yet, he realized he had been in mid-sentence!! While he brought a lethargic hand to his face to rub it, he started again, “As I was saying!! There has to be a connection to outside and the academy. Otherwise, Halloween Town would be a far easier target for our…cohorts.” Emmy raises her eyes to the voice and suppresses the urge to recoil against the smell. If she didn’t know any better she would have hated the boy for cooking at a time like this, but she was the one with the bellyache. But jusg as she returned her attention to the table, Robin, and older she’d met before had called her attention. She looks up slowly, her voice echoimg softly in her skull. After a moment, she rellies slowly, “A… bucket?” Did she really look thay sick? Then finally realizeing, she must has been refering to her skin. Smiling weakly, she tries to sit up a little straighter,“N-No, it’s alright. It happens when I’m not feeling well. But, if you could, point the direction to a water fountain…? I’m still trying to get the layout of this place down.” Cici walked over to the counter when soup was called, and gathered as many as she could, balancing them along her arms. She walked carefully back, her eyes trained downwards and taking slow, shaky, deliberate steps. She began setting the bowls of soup down on the table. One where Robin was… had been sitting, one for Franz and one for Hans. She didn’t see Raphael anywhere, and knit her eyebrows slightly. He was…. in the kitchen, correct? She thought so anyway. He would be alright. She set down her own soup bowl and lightly rubbed the red spots on her arms where the bowls had burned her slightly. Spoons. Ahhh, spoons. She jumped back up from the table, apologizing, and ran to fetch the utensils. Once gathered, she returned to the table. “S-sorry about, about that.” she said, setting the spoons down. A loud thump on the window made her jump, but she tried to move on. “Enj-joy!” Eris shook her head to try to clear away her grogginess, “I feel awful, But that doesn’t matter right now.“ she looked over at the window that was boarded up “What’s happening? why are we here.” Keeva walked around the cafeteria almost like a guard dog would looking over every possible entrance to make sure things were safe, her faoladh instincts were unconciously taking over eyeing every possible crevess. She almost felt like it was her duty to look over everyone but that’s just the faoladh thinking, almost like a big sister protecting the brothers and sisters. Keeva wished her cousin was here he’d at least know what to do in a situation like this. Alec thought for a moment before getting closer to whisper to her, “They kinda…followed us here. The teachers think this is the safest place, apparently. Stock the “food” in a cafeteria, real smart…” he mocked the last part before his eyes widened to Shay and Wren approaching. He inhaled and let his chest fall dramatically on the exhale! “I know sitting around here isn’t going to help anything. If you ask me, no one else knows how to fix this…” Shay’s shoulder dropped. “Wait..so you guys..don’t have a plan for this? ..I thought..” He yawned. “I thought you guys would come up with…something..” Eris looked at him confused “They…? they who? who followed us?” she looked up and over when she heard shay “Plan? Plan for what? What is going on?” she looked up at alec “how long was i out?” Robin nodded to Emmy. “There’s one right over there! I…uh…I can carry you if you want!” She looked light enough that Robin could at least help! Fred sat perched on a table, listening to the other “adults” babble. What they should do is let her out there to beat the crap out of all the zombies. Great idea. Or maybe it was just her messed up brain right now. She scratched the side of her face and asked, “Do you guys not have a weapons room or something?” Like wouldn’t that be a first priority here? Emma reached for another handful of pretzels, only to find the bag empty. She sighed, tossing it to the side and shrugging her shoulders. “As fine as someone can be while man eating skeletons are outside I guess,” she mumbled to Raphael. She sniffed and smelled something cooking. “What’s going on over there?” Emmy’s eyes widen as she shakes her head quickly, carry her, oh gosh, she really did look that bad. She couldn’t possibly let her do that, it’d only embarass her, and Emmy, is Emmy melted out of her arms. She wasn’t that bad, she could still stand, right?, “Oh gosh, No no, it’s fine… I couldn’t ask you to do that. I’m heavier than I look.” Smiling sheepishly, she stands, useing the table to keep herself from tipping over. She felt bad, acting so outstandish, but she didn’t want Robin to fret over her. She didn’t want to look like a weakling. Raphael: He glanced to the side, sidestepping the question slightly. “I think Milo made soup. Do you want any?” he asked. Looking around, he commented, “It looks like we’d be stocked here for a long time. Plus there’s pots and knives and things,” knowing full well her weapon of choice ever since the war last year, he commented, “Frying pans…” Alice rolled her eyes at Fred. She was sitting in a fold-out chair, legs crossed and elbow leaning on them, holding up her head. She was getting so sick of waiting, and wanted nothing more than to fix this mess and quick (and clean) as possible, but sitting around chatting was doing nothing for her. She craved action in all honesty, but hearing Fred suggest it just annoyed her at this point. “Perhaps we should use reason,” she started, finally, “And get to the bottom of this mess in its entirety.” Not realizing how condescending that sounded, she continued, “Or perhaps we could just continue our sewing circle, hm?” Robin looked down embarrassed- she supposed It was kind of weird to offer to carry her. Plus, that could be offensive, she supposed. “Okay,” she said, but the second Emmy got up, Robin eyes flashed over to watch her, just to make sure she made it there okay. She wondered how late it was- surely it was almost night now, right? Wren shrugged. She was the last person they should ask. She could barely make a magic flame. Looking at Eris she guessed, “A few hours? We were in the infirmary first.” Sally: She sighed, sitting in her chair in a pose much similar to Alice’s. She ran her hand through Haar’s hair and asked, “You’ve lived in Halloweentown forever, have you ever seen anything like this before?” The fact that he was related to Jack might help, of course. She glanced at Fred and huffed a little. “As far as I know we don’t have a weapons room at this school. We’ve never needed one, surprisingly. But,” she added, tapping a finger to her lips, “If there /were/ any hiding about anywhere, they’d probably be in the clocktower. That’s where all the storage rooms are.” Alec nodded, “it was a while. You and Gil got to miss the interrogation,” he sighed. “I’m trying to come up with something, really! And by “them” I mean, like, you know, /them!/ The uh… “ he sighed, “the zombies. They came here.” He paused for a moment and puffed out his cheek, “What about the book itself?? Does Gil still have it?” he looked to Eris, hoping for an answer! Shay was a little surprised and very confused. “Book? …still have it? W-what are you..talking about?” Emmy bites her lip, knowing full well there was no way she was going to get over there without any help, and Robin had offered… Pride aside, she manages out after a moment, “But, if you didn’t mind, could you walk me there…?” Looking up at her with a shy smile, laughimg softly despite the situation, “I’m not going to lie, but I think you and I both know I won’t make it there on my own.” Eris put a hand to her forehead “I don’t know,” she sighed “zombies?” she tilted her head “Did…we wake the dead or something?” Robin eagerly hopped up from the table and had to stop herself from screaming “YESSS” at the top of her lungs! Anything other than wallow in guilt was A -O-K! “Y-yeah, no problem!” She quickly and nimbly put a dripping arm around her shoulder, and used her opposite arm to support Emmy’s! “Wwwhoa!” She said, under her breath, realizing she would soon be covered in goo. That was okay though, at least she was helping someone out! Fred stuck her tongue out at Alice. Whatever, it was a good idea. She sat up straighter when she noticed Sally rubbed Harvey’s head and almost laughed. Harvey, with a girlfriend? Oh my fucking god she was going to tease him so bad! Except he didn’t… remember her… “Well what the hell are we waiting for?” She blurted. “Let’s go get some clock weapons or whatever!” Emmy whispers a soft apology, chewing her lip, feeling awful for well… dripping on Robin. But, it was nice that somone was so eager to do nice things for people… She admired that. “If I feel… slimy, I’m sorry, I’m useally not.” Chuckling softly, she smiles a little. What an odd thing to say to someone. Emma’s eyes grew wide and she jumped up. Any soup sounded great right now. She listened to Raphael as she served herself, holding a bowl towards him when she was done. “Ah good, at least we’re not totally defenseless! Eating is important too though, so soup up!” Raphael: “Yes ma'am,” he said with a crooked grin, taking the bowl from her. Scooting it from hand to hand for a moment, he set it on the counter before digging spoons out of a drawer for the two of them. As he ate he commented, “So… there isn’t anything remotely like this in Valentine Ville. We’ve got a few sort-of creepy people, but nothing close to this. And I’ve only been to Thanksgiving town… once? Twice? Not many times, but I’m pretty sure you don’t have anything like this either, right?” he asked, sipping his soup. Wren was about to answer Eris when another bump on the boarded windows made her jump. “We woke something alright.” To Shay’s question, she bit her lip. “Um… remember that nice tomb at the field trip? There was kind of a magic book in it that /some people/ just had to read from.” She pointedly avoided Alec and Eris’ gaze as she spoke. Still hadn’t asked for help. Robin let out a warm laugh, “that’s okay, a lot of my best friends are slimy!” Well, Chubbs was sometimes, so she’d count that. “Don’t worry though! I have four sweaters just like this one!” Alec glared back, “/Some people/ were against it.” He kept staring before looking down and then back at Eris and Shay. “Now that Eris is up, maybe we should see the teachers. We still don’t know how Gil came back, I don’t think his spell was what did it.” He sighed, “Sorry for getting you in this, Shay.” The table that Robin and Emmy sat at suddenly jolted, followed by a small voice. “Owww.” A little elf..or not so little elf, poked her head out from under it. “Hello, yes. May I offer you a toy in this trying time?” Mint shuffled herself out from under them and pulled off her hat. She proceeded to search it, by placing her arm inside. Milo happily watched someone finally eat his soup. Once the two were done, he grabbed a bowl for himself and tromped over to Franz and Hans. He nodded before setting to work on his meal. Eris muttered under her breath “Uncle Hades is gonna be pissed.” then looked up between alec and wren “let’s not worry about the blame right now, i’ll admit we screwed up. screwed up big time, but it could have been worse.” she looked to alec “Talking to the teacher now sounds like a good idea. Maybge they have some information we don’t.” Four? This girl was honestly more prepared than she could have been in her entire life, she couple help but giggle a little,“You have, four, or the same sweater? I’d be lucky to not lose an article of clothing f-forever." Not quite realizeing it, her hair lifts a little from the floor. Keeva laid back and felt so frustrated she almost looked like she was going pull out her hair from this situation. After having collected himself in the bathroom, John made his way back into the cafeteria. He spotted Robin with a dripping girl and Mint and Emma talking to another guy he kind of knew. He finally decided to join Milo, who was sitting with two more guys he’d seen once or twice at the shop. Once settled, he looked at the soup and cringed. /Tofu/. Robin beamed and was about to answer Emmy when she stopped dead- Was that- “MINNNTT!” Robin called out, and motioned for her to come on over! “MINT this is Emmy!! She’s new! Emmy, this is Mint! She’s an elf who makes toys! She’s really good at it!” Cici: She smiled up at Milo when he reached their table. “Did you make this?” she asked, indicating the soup. Raphael had been baking, last she checked, and all she’d seen of Emma was her eating pretzels as voraciously as possible, and Milo had been holding a ladle, so he seemed a likely culprit. “It’s r-really good!” Emma gratefully took the utensil and scooped up a spoonful. She blew on it and replied, “No, definitely not. The closest thing we have are the old women and their knitting circle.” She sipped the soup and grimaced. “Hot!!” Hans was sadly poking Franz, who was across the table, fast asleep. “How can ANYONE BE sleeping NOW?” Hans nearly cried/laughed when he saw Milo. He figured Franz was tired from all the heal-y stuff, but still! How he wasn’t scared was beyond belief. After sighing and giving up, Hans whimpered and looked up to Milo with a sad smile. “Thanks for the soup, freunde! It’s always nice to eat when you’re scared.” After a minute he added “Orrr anytime at all….! ….Are YOU scared?” Emmy smiles anlittle more, recognizeing the cute little elf she’d met her twice before, and loved her immediately,.“Hello M-Mint.” Normally she would have mentioned them meeting before, but she didn’t want to disappoint Robin. Shay made a gagging sound from the bottom of his throat. “….You mean.. you guys..you guys caused THIS?!” Eris shrugged “it’s not the worst thing i’ve caused in my life time.” Mint couldn’t help but smile at Robin’s compliment. “Hello again, Emmy!” She pulled out her hand from her hat to shake it, then made a ‘one moment’ hand gesture. She put her hand back into her hat, grabbing a ball from it. She threw it in the air, and catched it with the back of her hand. She held THAT out to Emmy. “For you?” Wren pursed her lips. “Well… I’m not saying yes…” Alec thought for a moment before looking at Wren, “Yeah, I’ve done worse.” He added a shrug to fake the casualty. “Could’a, Would’a, Should’a, the point is that we did it and we have to help fix it, at the least. THAT or we could peg the whole thing on Gil… Hahahaha….I’m kidding. We totally have to do something.” Eris looked around, “what are we waiting for, let’s go find a teacher.” Cici: Watching Franz with concern, she bit her lip. She knew he didn’t like to be touched, so what could she do…? She wound up just sliding his bowl closer to him, encouraging him. “H-hey now, don’t, don’t let it get c-cold!” Robin readjusted Emmy a little bit to get a better grip! It was getting kinda hard, she was a tad bit slippery! Kind of like holding a wet bar of soap. That was okay though! “Walk with us, Mint!” Robin encouraged and started for the water fountain slowly. Milo smiled. “No problem,” he replied softly. His smile evaporated into a thoughtful frown at Hans’ question. He slurped his soup before saying, “I guess?” Taking the ball gingerly, she holds it close with a weary smile, “Thank you… I wish I could give you something in return…” She gestures gently to her drooping figgure, “But, I don’t even think a hug would suffice.” She was so weary and achey, but yet people she’d only met just a while prior were already treating her with such kindness, it made her heart hurt. She not be home anymore, but they made it feel just as good here. Mint grinned. “Of course!” She answered to Robin before looking at Emmy, a little sad. “No no, I don’t want anyding! I have too many toys that are just sitting around! Besides dat is the spirit of Christmas town! Giving!” “It’s true!” Robin said, now a little worried because Emmy’s melting was kinda hard to hold! Her face was lit up with a huge smile, but she was walking a lot faster now! To the fountain! To the fountain! When they finally got there, Robin carefully peeled Emmy off (literally!) and made sure she could stand to drink! Emmy:Her smile widening to almkst a grin, she nods, understanding her. Her father was just like her, always giving to people jusy tk see them smile. Reaching he waterfountain, she nearly drops witb releif. Never in her life had she ever wanted a drink so badly. Haar smiled weakly at Sally before shaking his head, “Nothing of the sort…” His head tiredly started to droop before a coat hand held it up, “Ahhhh,” he started, and let his arms fall to his sides as he started to slowly slide off of his chair, “Cain emptied the supplies for summmmmmerrrrr,” he groaned the last part. “For cleaaaaninnnggg” the last part was more moan-y than the first. His spiders liked to hang out by that stuff! Emmy:Finishing gulping down several mouthfuls, she straigjtens, feeling a little betyer hydrated, but still crummy. “T-Thank you. I thought I was going to pass out for a while…” Her hair hovring just above the ground, she smiles weakly, holding onto Robins arms, rather than laying on he poor girl, her body holding its shape, but hr hair still dripping. The water helped, but she still needed to sit down. Robin held Emm in her arms, and realized that she might be out cold! S-should she get someone?? This could be real bad… “Wait,” Robin said, squinting at Mint. “H-how did you even get in here???” Mint jerked back in suprise. “Oh! I just took the air vent from the library! And I gots there from Christmas town..Well first I was checkin Holidays University for my hella buddy, but he wasn’t dere so then I took the tunnel!” She beamed. “Why do you ask~?”

<Candy-Leptic>Haar: He put his hand over his mouth. The summer air was much too warm for his liking already, but the pelting rain was even worse. Normally he was so fond of the rain, but being crouched on a ledge three stories high was much different than admiring from afar. Raindrops where getting caught on his eyelashes, and had already soaked through his clothing. His initial plan was not to sit in pity outside her door, however, every time he reached for her window, uncertainly drew his hand back over his mouth, as if to stop him from speaking to her. He considered giving up and returning to his room often, and once in awhile, even moving back to Halloween Town, but this was not the kind of issue one should just…sweep under the carpet. It had to be tackled head on, but in truth, he was terrified to get close. He reached for her window again, and predictably, his hand pulled itself back to him. Anxiety wasn’t what was stopping him, it was literally nothing. He felt so much whenever he thought of the situation at hand, but every time he agreed to conquer it, his emotions fled, leaving him alone. And if anything, the last thing he wanted was to be alone. His hands balled into fists, and he rapped on Sally’s window, quickly and shortly. He COULD have very well opened it himself---one way or another---but Sally was lady, and the very LEAST he could do was show her some ounce of politeness, for starters. Mostly, however, he was concerned how long that politeness would last.
<christgirl253>Sally: Her head jerked up at the knock on her window. Was someone throwing things at it? She hadn't had anyone approach her door in over a day, but she supposed someone could be trying. Or it could be a bird. If it was, she hoped it wasn't hurt! She approached her window cautiously, peeking to see what it was. The moment she saw Haar she whirled away, throwing herself against the wall next to the window to make her impossible to see. Her heart pounded in her chest and she gripped her own shoulder tightly. He was here. He was here, outside her window. This had happened to her once before, but it had been a very different situation. And they had been butterflies in her stomach then, not knots. "H-Haar?" she said, fighting to make her voice loud enough to be heard through the glass while she was hiding. "Is that you?"
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: Catching only a glimpse of Sally, his brow raised. This was new. He wasn’t EXACTLY sure what he had seen, but it wasn’t what he was expecting…He did expect her voice, however, so he was sure it was her. Tiredly, with an exasperated sigh, he answered her. “Yes, it is I. May I come in?” His lips tightened. What exactly was his plan here? He was starting to realize this might have been rushed into. Still, it was too late to go back.
<christgirl253>Sally: Her fingernails tightened on her shoulder and the other hand scraped at the wall as it balled into a fist. Could he come in? She wanted to scream yes, him coming in was the only way for him to forgive her. Or rage and throw fire at her. That would be ok too, her burns had already healed. She could use some new ones. But she didn't want him to see her like this, she couldn't let him see her like this. She didn't want anyone to ever see her like this. "I-I'd rather you stay outside," she said, her voice panicky. No wait! What if he thought it was because of him......? "I'm not, I'm not, um, fit to see visitors right now. I, um, we can talk through the window, though!" Her heart was still racing. She looked over, but the window wasn't locked, and she couldn't risk leaning over to lock it now.
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: This was concerning. “Y-you’re not fit to see visitors now…?” Oh God, what did Valentine people DO in their offices? What did WOMEN do in their offices?? Still, he was surprised at himself for making it this far. He feared next time he wouldn’t be so lucky, so he took a deep breath. He reached into his pocket and felt for an eye patch. Originally, he was actually going to wear it OVER his eye socket, hoping at least now he wouldn’t offend her (just the thought of this made his blood boil), but that would not be its intended use today. Eye patch in hand and looking forward, he moved closer to her window, careful not to look inside. He was someone who respected women, don’t get him wrong, but he was so sure when he caught a glimpse of her she had clothes on. He would have noticed otherwise, he was sure. He slid the eye patch over his remaining eye. For now, it was the only one in which he could actually see. Yes, Jack COULD see out of his ‘holes,’ but only because he had lost both . For now, Haar was blinded, but it would HAVE to do, he supposed. He felt for Sally’s window and opened it. “My apologies…” he mumbled under his breath and slowly made his way in, “But this is not something we can merely reconcile through glass…”
<christgirl253>Sally: She quickly went backwards into the shadows as he came in anyway. Then, in the dull light of the rain storm, she saw him, soaking wet, his hair plastered against his head, and an eye patch over his one eye. "Oh, Haar," she said, her voice on the edge of breaking and her shoulders shrinking in, "I'm so sorry,"
Haar: She sounded so far away, but he didn’t want to move from his spot in fear of hitting something (and looking like a fool). He stood tall and put his hands on his hips. “Sally.” He sighed, “Don’t apologize for the rain.” He hesitantly took a step closer. “Are you scared of me? Is that why you didn’t want me to come in? Or are you repulsed…?” He crossed his arms in not so much of an upset way, but more for confidence, plus the added warmth. His shoulders sunk. “No matter how upset I am, I’d never hurt you, you should know better than that…
<christgirl253>Sally: For a moment she was confused. "Repulsed? Oh, no, no, no! Never that." Sadness welled up. What had she made him feel? All the things he had said at the celebration... had those just come back to haunt him? "I'm not afraid of you, Haar," she said, her voice still trembling. That was mostly true, and especially true in the way he meant it. She was more afraid of herself at this point, what she had done and what she might accidentally do. The idea that she couldn't fix what she'd done. Although he was here now, wasn't he? He hadn't broken her window, or screamed at her once. Maybe she was being too pessimistic, maybe there was hope. She wasn't sure what to say, with him wiping her comment off by putting it onto the rain. She considered starting it first, but instead decided to allow him. He was the one that had come to her, after all. "What did you want to talk about?"
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: He raised an eyebrow and stepped towards her (or where her voice was coming from). “You tremble as you speak! You honestly believe I would hurt you!?” His arms flung at his side, “ Sally do you even KNOW me? By now you should!! And what do I want to talk about? What ELSE would we presently talk about?” He took a second to regain his composure. He didn’t WANT to yell at her, but his natural reaction was to…well… let her have it. He refused. He thought back to Cain before his head bowed to the ground. He had created enough of a scene as is. Still, he had to let it known how he felt; he refused to bottle up any emotions anymore. “Am I nothing but a fool to you? Do you feel the need to play me as… as your puppet? Is that REALLY what I am to you?” He paused and grew quieter. “Is that really what you take me for…?”
<christgirl253>Sally: "No," she said, but, hearing how unconvincing her voice was, she swallowed and said, "No," again. This time her voice was stronger and sounded sure. "I know you wouldn't-" her words were cut off as he began yelling. She knew this was going to happen, she had been waiting for it to happen, but still her stomach sank and her hands grew clammy. He was so close now, when had he gotten so close? She took a single step backwards. There wasn't much room left for her to back up to, but she was still afraid of what he would think if he got to her, if he found out how... how... weak she was. One hand went down to grip her desk for support, the other held up and across her chest in a defensive position. No, she wasn't afraid he would hurt her. But every word was a dagger nonetheless. "No, no! No," she put a hand over her mouth for a moment as she grew louder. Was there no other words she could think to say? Slowly she lowered her hand. "I am... so sorry, Haar. I didn't mean to hurt you. I didn't... I wasn't trying to.... to play you." her voice choked up on the word and she held her shoulder again, which was still sore from her fingernails earlier. "I would never, ever hurt you. I couldn't," A tear fell, then another, "I ca-couldn't live with myself if, if I did..."
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: “W-well that would make both of us…” Was-was she crying?! He tried to listen for her sniffles, but she was so quiet. It sounded like she was closer now. He didn’t want to face her if he had made her cry, and instinctively looked to his right. “I-if you didn’t intend to hurt me, than why did you throw such beautiful words at me only to…” He bit his lip. “Only to…” He had heard her sniffling. She HAD been crying. He bit his lip even harder before approaching her quickly. “Sally please don-“ His abdomen hit her desk hard. He had been blind for so long he lost track of where she was, and he ended up to the right of her, smacking into her desk. “F-fuc-“ In fact, he rushed to her so quickly he managed to fall face first OVER her desk and landed on the
<christgirl253>Sally: "Haar!!" she cried, rushing over to him. She dropped to her knees and tried to slide her hands underneath him, lifting him gently up. "Are you alright?!" Her voice was panicked. She wasn't completely positive how resilient he was, and she could have dislocated something in a fall like that. She gently touched his shoulder and elbow, checking the most likely places.
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: He jolted slightly at her touch, not expecting it, but he didn’t expect to fall either. He clutched his abdomen, not so much that he had anything really to break in the first place, but he knew the skin would bruise, and that could very well be permanent. Recently, his skin hadn’t been healing back the way it used to. As Sally touched his elbow (his forearms were bare, still!!) He felt her skin for a fraction of a second. With his other hand, he grabbed her arm. “S-Sally, were you crying…?” He noticed her arms were…much different. “Sally…what has happened to you…?” He felt…pieces? He was unsure of the texture. Almost reptilian? Still seeing darkness, Haar said to her, very quietly, “Sally, what do you look like?”
<christgirl253>Sally: She had been so concerned for him that she had temporarily forgotten her transformation. She jerked her arm away, afraid he might figure it out, even though he had already begun to. "I'm... I'm..." she tried to stutter out a response, but didn't know what to say. My powers are affected by my emotions and I've never been this upset before so I lost control? I've been practicing extreme shapshifting for the past few days? I look like a demon? In the end she didn't know how to answer his question, instead holding her own wrist and lying it limply in her lap, head tilted downward in shame.
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: He lifted himself up to a seated position-still clutching his abdomen with one hand-and scooted over to where he was pretty sure Sally was. He was tempted to use his free hand to find her’s, however he was DEFINITELY not confident he would successfully touch her hand in the procedure. It was FAR too risky. His chest rose and sunk slowly as he sat next to her in silence for a moment. “Cain lost control of his powers as well…” He bowed his head. He hoped that was all that had happened to her. He took a deep breath and continued. “I know you were looking out for him. But…so quickly after what we had said? Sally did you…” He paused for a moment and lifted his head up. “Did you… did you even hesitate? You could have very well…just waited and talked to me first? Or even bring it up after the fact…Only…” His breathing slowed again, “Only when you speak such beautiful words and then commit yourself to another… What did you ever expect to happen with the first?”
<christgirl253>Sally: She felt tears pool in her eyes as he spoke. How had she been so blind? But no, she refused to let herself get so worked up about it again. She fought against the tears, willing them back down until she was certain she could speak clearly. One did escape, falling directly from her eye to her skirt, but after that she was good enough to talk. "I didn't.... Haar, I feel so stupid, but I didn't even think... that that was what you were feeling... In Valentine's, that wouldn't have been considered, that is, I meant it in a..." she sighed. "I should have known it was too much, that it was hinting at... at anything. But I didn't. And I did, I wanted to help Cain, and I didn't want to say no, I was afraid for him. But," her hand inched downwards and she lightly took his hand, lacing only her fingers in beneath his, "Haar, I do love you. And you are beautiful." She felt her throat closing again and swallowed hard, willing herself to stay composed. "Please, please believe that I mean that, with all my heart."
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: She was so worked up, but he still couldn’t tell exactly where she was. Half of him wanted to rip his eye patch clean off, but he kept it on for Sally’s sake. Hearing her so upset broke his heart enough, he didn’t want her to hurt anymore. Still… As she took his hand, he couldn’t bring himself to lace his own fingers with hers. Instead, his laid limp. When she said that she loved him, he choked up. His whole body tensed. “Sally… I-I’d be just as much of a fool, if anything. In Halloween Town we don’t…we don’t hear such uplifting words so often, so naturally…however in Valentine’s I’d imagine it is quite common for platonic relationships…” He raised his chest, “I should have known it wasn’t…” He let his voice trail off. While one of his hands was limp in Sally’s, the other clutched fiercely into his shirt. Not from pain but merely so the OTHER one wouldn’t move. He bit his lip, unsure how to take it. “You know I love you, Sally.” He exhaled, “And if I can show my face in the light, you can too. You’re beautiful…” With a light smile, he added, “I’m sure I’ve seen people in my town far worse than you could ever look, real appearance or likewise…”
<christgirl253>Sally: She blushed, not the careful even pink that she normally did, but a real one. Him calling her beautiful - he'd done it before, too - made her feel better than when she normally received the comment, somehow. Perhaps it was because he came from such a dark place. Whether his standard of beauty was lower or not, it made her feel happy to be something lovely in a world so normally ugly for him. It was the same reason she was drawn to making sure he knew how special he was, why she was drawn to complimenting him until he knew it was true. She stared forward, her eyes focusing on his clenched fist. "It is. Common for... platonic relationships. But..." She felt like a teenager, working out her first tangled knot of emotions. "all I know is, I never, ever want to hurt you again. Never." she squeezed the hand she had ahold of. "It hurt me so much more to see you hurt than it has anyone else. I was even more upset than I was when I saw Cain broken down and crying. And I don't know... why. It's strange, because I should be able to tell which emotion it is. I'm not a child, for Cupid's sake." The only person she may compare the level of caring to was her sister, but it was most definitely a different kind of feeling. Maybe it was where he was from, but one way or another this bizarre Halloween man had tied up her attention. "I care about you, Haar, so much. And that's all I really know."
Haar: He bit his lower lip again. He wanted so bad to reciprocate her feelings, but she HAD just been with Cain, and, even though he did believe their relationship had ceased, the principle still drove at him. He listened to her carefully, and at the mention of “Cain broken down and crying” his grip on her hand now tightened. As she spoke, Haar’s hand now started to feel Sally’s rough textured one. Where these…Scales? Small ones, yes, but all the same, scales. He sighed. He was sure her face would be much different than face than counseled him at the party. Still, this meant that she was as upset as Cain was, in the least, in order to loose control like that, and his chest collapsed at the thought. How terribly…hauntingly… ironic it was that Sally was driven to hide her appearance after all of this…And Haar could identify with that far too well. His clenched fist untightened and he brought it to cover their entwined hands. “And I care about you as well, and for that reason I ask that you don’t hide yourself any longer…” He wrapped his other hand around theirs. “Concealing yourself will only reinforce the idea that you don’t deserve to be seen… And I would know more than anyone that you deserve it.” She gave him such warm complements in hopes it would shake his self image, but now as hers was in danger, he could stop at nothing to ensure she wouldn’t go through what he did for so long, and even presently. “Please, Sally…” <christgirl253>Sally: She listened to him, trying to focus on nothing but his words and the feeling of their hands together to avoid thinking. She knew he was making perfectly valid points. And it wasn't that she was afraid of people thinking she was ugly, she knew it wasn't that. Being a shapeshifter meant that, while she may purposely choose an appealing appearance in general, she didn't care all that much about looks. But then, why did she not want people to see her like this? Deep down, she knew why. It was all about control. She hated the idea of people knowing that she had lost control of herself so completely. After all, she had never had this problem before, not with all of her teenage heartbreaks. "You're right," she said softly, her grip relaxing on his hand, but still staying in place. She closed her eyes, not certain if he would want to look at her now or not, and not certain if she was ready for him to. She was already touched that he had blinded himself so long to spare her feelings, and felt incredibly guilty that it had led to him harming himself. <Candy-Leptic>Haar: He sighed. He couldn’t be the one to force her to show herself or it might make her sink deeper…But still, he could tell she was undecided. He inhaled. He could try the same approach he did with Cain… it worked very well in the case, he liked to think… Furthermore, he DID want her to see how her position was very similar to one he had faced… Finally, it could help him too, he supposed. As much as he wanted to take Sally in his arms and forgive her, there was still something stopping him. He tightened his lips. How much did he really want to get into detail? How much was too much, in any case? He didn’t have time to plan out much anything, and this part of his tale was…more messier than what he had told Cain. Furthermore, there was reason he had left this out… But it did apply here, more or less. “Get comfortable, I have something I’m going to share with you, if that’s alright.” <christgirl253>Sally: She blinked at his words and shifted slightly, leaning her back against her desk. His tone of voice was heavy, and she knew that whatever it was he was going to share, it wouldn't be the encouraging words he'd been saying earlier. "Of course, go ahead." ** Twilightgirl12has joined ** Twilightgirl12has left [connection closed] <christgirl253>((We lure them in, apparently)) <Candy-Leptic>Haar: He cleared his throat. Not necessarily because he had too, but doing so gave him more time to contemplate how to start and what to say. He didn’t want to repeat what he had told Cain, more because it felt that had created (or strengthened, rather) a bond between them, and to casually throw around such a story seemed…unfit. Not to mention, Haar wasn’t thrilled with the thought of his life story being common information. He trusted Sally to keep it to herself, but if he told two, who else would he start to share it with? It was tough ground, but finally he assumed he had to start somewhere. “When I had first discovered that my body was rotting, I was very unsure how to take it. I was angry yes, but long story short, it was my fault. I couldn’t force that hatred on man or even the world as a whole… And I tried, honestly! But deep down, I knew I only had myself to blame… Believe it or not…I actually had no idea Jack was a skeleton. I assumed something more along the lines of a ghost or the like, so naturally I assumed my…image would be intact. But I was no apparition.” He smiled weakly. “No, nothing of the sort. As a youth your image is very important to you. Well…Not even in your youth. Through the duration of your life, it’s the only real palpable evidence you have to identify as ‘yourself.’ So when it escaped me…” It occurred to him now that he was actually quite relieved his sight was missing. His first instinct was to look at his hands, believing for a moment his eye was merely closed. “I was frantic, confused, scared, disgusted, I was everything. But more so, I was ashamed. It was a permanent reminder that I was no longer with the living. So, as you do now, I locked myself up. I hid from them. From everyone. And then when I discovered how those around me were so…morbid and sinister, I was even more disgusted. The very citizens of Halloween Town, looking as they did, only reinforced my idea that I deserved to rot among them. And to this day, I still believe I deserve to rot, no question…But, do you know what locking myself up did for me? Absolutely nothing. As I wallowed in my self-pity in my lonesome, I was frozen. I had so much time… to do so much for myself, and all I did was waste it.” He raised his shoulders. “When I finally tried to integrate myself in this new…’Society,’ I failed miserably. I wasn’t seeking acceptance, I was seeking distraction, but it only reminded me how little I could control myself. And, much like you fear now, they knew I lacked control.” He swallowed. Her whole situation had been so close to his own, and yet, he wasn’t sure if she would get any benefit from this. “They played little tricks on each other. And I had previously known how to create fire, so I tried to…I figure…I tried to amuse them, I suppose, but I couldn’t control it like they could. Fear feeds fire, it’s a general rule.” He bit his lip. “And I had burned them. I don’t mean…to death or anything, but enough for them to remember. And you’d think Halloween residents wouldn’t mind a bit of fear here or there but… the kind of fear that promises pain is a different story. And I’d like to think…if I had just been a little smarter… The whole thing really could have been avoided, but…” He lifted his head, and his voice started to return to his normal tone, “It appears it was too late for that. I was cast out again, but this time it wasn’t my choice. And you know what I learned from all of this?” He turned to face Sally. “I can’t be the one to take off this eye patch. You have to be the one to show yourself; you can’t hide yourself from the world because when you do eventually walk back into it…” He bit his lip again, “You see how much you had to give, and how much you could have all along.”
<christgirl253>Sally: She listened intently to his story, feeling more and more sympathy for him as he spoke. She knew that Halloween town was a hard place, and that many of its residents had dark pasts, but this misery he spoke of made her want to take him away, to hide him somewhere beautiful he couldn't be hurt like that. And then he turned his point back to her, and it snapped her out of imagining what life must have been for him. She looked away, staring at the ground as she thought. When had Haar become such an eloquent speaker? Making her face fears and conflicts she hadn't known she had. She looked back over at him and tried to think of something to say, her mouth opening, but words failed her. Frantic, confused, scared, disgusted, He didn't deserve to feel like that. And she didn't want him to know she felt that way. After all, if there was anyone she would trust to see this side of her, wouldn't it be him? how much you could have all along. What could she have had? What could she still have? A friendship, that was for certain. She was no longer afraid that Haar would want nothing to do with her. And she didn't need to be afraid of him seeing her, either. She leaned over and carefully slid the eye patch off, then leaned back again, biting her lip. All her confident thoughts and Haar's inspiring words aside, she was still nervous.
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: Feeling his eye patch being moved, he bowed his head and smiled, his eye still closed. He gently looked up to see Sally, in what he figured was her absolute true form. As his eye focused to the dark lighting in her office, he looked her in the eye, and then to her hair, and then to her scaled arms. He gave her a warm smile, and added quietly, “Your hair was naturally red this whole time…That’s amazing!” He blinked back a single tear. It had to be so hard for her. Even as he sounded so sure of himself and confident while he had narrated his story, he still despised how he looked. But if fake strength could bring to light her true strength, that was more than enough for him. Looking her over, he couldn’t help but to smile even more. “Oh Sally, even at your worse you’re still beautiful.” <christgirl253>Sally: She blinked hard, biting her lip to contain her emotions. She fiddled with a lock of her hair, then moved her hand down to touch his forearm, the same one that was holding her other hand. She stared hard at his chest. "Thank you, Haar. Thank you so much for not hating me. I will never hurt you again, I promise." Slowly she looked up, meeting his eye. "All I want is for you to be happy. If there's anything I can do to make that happen, tell me, ok?"
Haar: “You don’t have to promise me anything…” He looked away. All of his anger was gone, but he was still hurt. More than anything though, he just wanted things to go back to normal. Throughout the entirety of the war, that was all he wished for, and he was more than ready for the norm. “I forgive you, Sally. I know you had Cain’s best interests in mind.” But he still didn’t feel closure. As long as she couldn’t control her powers, Haar wouldn’t feel like he completely fixed everything. His image served as a reminder, yes, but for hers’ to as well…He refused to consider it. “Know that I don’t care how you look like, Sally, but I want you to be comfortable again. Have you tried asking Cynthia?” Haar wasn’t Positive Mean Sally even could shapeshift, but she was a good guess. <christgirl253>Sally: "I do, though," she said quietly. And then he said it. He forgave her. He forgave her. It was all she had been hoping for. At his last suggestion, she slowly shook her head. "Cynthia... is not the person to go to, for these kinds of troubles." Her sister's appearance hadn't significantly changed since they were children. She wasn't sure why, Cynthia had, once upon a time, been far more talented than Sally. She'd asked her several times what had happened, but she was always brushed off. She sighed and shook her head, focusing on the present. She looked At Haar again, shifting because her leg was beginning to fall asleep. Her shifting brought her closer to him and, on impulse, she hugged him. One of her small horns scraped lightly against his head and she tilted it away. "Sorry," she mumbled into his shirt. She held him tight and thought again about what he had said. He forgave her. He forgave her. Warmth swelled up inside her, making her feel light everywhere it touched. Her hair grew several shades brighter, so much that it almost seemed to be glowing. Her skin became a healthier color, and when she opened her eyes again, they were blue. Even though it was only her coloration that had come back to her, it was a good start. <Candy-Leptic>Haar: He wondered how alone Sally really was, seeing as she couldn’t go to her sister for help. He never realized they had an…odd dynamic. He wanted to bring it up, but there would be other times for that, he was sure. He didn’t expect to be hugged, seeing as he was still soaking wet, and at first, didn’t hug back so that she could remain dry. His eye widened at her sudden change of color. He still wasn’t quite used to the shape shifting dynamic, but it was a pleasant surprise, at least! He swallowed. Was it their contact that had brought it back? She hadn’t changed immediately after being forgiven. But he noticed her features will still far sharper than usual. She still didn’t have complete control, he figured. He wondered if she could shape shift dry? He hugged her back and held him close to her, not caring where her horns scratched him. “It’s alright, Sally. I’m here.” He hugged her tighter. Change back, change back! <christgirl253>Sally: She buried her face in his shoulder as he hugged her back. She felt dampness seeping in from how closely their clothes were pressed together, but she didn't mind at all. A lock of hair fell in front of her face, and she was surprised to see it was much brighter in color. Had she... could she shapeshift again? She closed her eyes, focusing as hard as she could. She thought about Haar forgiving her, and the enforcement of that from his arms around her. And all the while she thought about it, she held the image of herself in her mind. Slowly, and it was slowly, her horns began to retract. She could feel her tail shrinking up under her skirt. Her face began rounding out, and she rolled it into his shoulder all the more, no longer afraid of poking him. And finally, she felt the scales begin to fade, turning into smooth, soft skin. She reached up with one hand and touched her horn-free head, letting out a relieved huff of laughter.
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: He watched her closely and intently, and bit his lip. She was so close! He held his breath the entirety of the time she shifted back, and as she touched her head, he exhaled, finally. “Well that’s much better,” He couldn’t help but to laugh and relax. It was done, she gained control, and he felt he had, too. His emotions no longer burned inside of him, and although there was still pain, he knew that was to be left up to time for the feeling. For now, he had done all he could, and it was enough. He relaxed his grip on her, but still held her. <christgirl253>Sally: She relaxed as well, her shoulders collapsing downwards. She curled into him a bit, feeling exhausted and emotionally drained, but much happier than she had been. She didn't even care where this went anymore; as long as Haar was happy, so was she. She let out a heavy sigh, knowing that they couldn't just sit on the floor forever, but not wanting to be the one to end their embrace. <Candy-Leptic>Haar: He smiled down at Sally and lightly touched her hair. “You look so tired. We really ought to get you home, Sally.” He reached under her and lightly lifted her up. “This looks familiar!” he joked and got to his feet. He never really HAD been to Valentine’s Ville before. It wouldn’t smell TOO much like candy…right? One could hope…! “I’m sure your family is worried sick…” He wondered if Sally had shortcuts. One would assume you could just take the Valentine’s door, but he didn’t know exactly where Sally resided when she wasn’t at the academy. <christgirl253>Sally: She was startled when he picked her up. "Oh! Haar, you really don't have to-" it was too late, she was already in the air. "They probably don't even notice. I don't live with my parents anymore, and Cynthia's been asked to stay here as long as anyone else is." She didn't exactly mind being carried by him, but she wondered how people in her town would react to seeing her carried down the street by Haar. Holiday integration had been growing ever since the Fiasco, was it... was it really fifteen years ago? That didn't seem right, but it was. Nevertheless, Haar was still just so absolutely Halloween, she wouldn't be surprised if he gave someone a heart attack. She giggled a little at the thought and wrapped her hands around his neck to support herself as he began walking. <Candy-Leptic>Haar: Sally in his arms and still dripping wet, he opened her window with the tip of his boot and floated out, careful to close the window behind him. Now in the rain, he frowned. He could have thought this through a little better, he would admit. He hunched his shoulders over her and put his head to the sky. He gave out ferocious coughs, and on the third one, something escaped from his throat. A cartoon-esque ghost emerged from his mouth and covered them, making dopey faces as it blocked them from the rain. “ All too familiar!” He laughed. He had done the same trick in Oogie’s castle, had he not? Still, he worried that this might be an… alarming sight in Valentine’s Ville. For now though, it would have to do, he supposed! “Now Sally, I can be sure to find your door, however, once inside I’ll need to know the best route to…go undetected, to say the least!” She didn’t live in the main square…right? This was most certainly NOT thought out at all. <christgirl253>Sally: She yelped and laughed as the rain pelted her for a few seconds. She had completely forgotten about the weather. She looked up just in time to see the small ghostie fan out to cover them. "Very familiar," she said with a smirk. She considered saying something about getting comfortable with being in his arms, but she thought that maybe not enough time had passed for that. Instead she bit her lip and stared at the clouds above them, swirling around with the light white film of the ghost separating and protecting them. She made sure she had a good grip on Haar's neck and shoulders as they flew. She didn't think she could grow wings fast enough to stop herself from hitting the ground if she wiggled out of his arms. At his question, she thought. She didn't live in the main section of town, but it was in a residential area. "You'll want to turn left and go about half a mile, then turn right." That would take him mostly through the fields and meadows outside of town, but there was no way to avoid the streets entirely. <Candy-Leptic>Haar: He landed right in front the Valentine’s door (or at least, what he assumed to be. He couldn’t imagine it was anything other than the heart!). Careful to grip Sally with a firm hand, he opened the door and looked in. “Sally, is this really your town?” Fortunately, the rain in the town much lighter, and the ghost bubbled returned to Haar’s mouth. Haar leaned on the door behind him and took in the view. Even with the light rain, rose petals still fell around them, and the forests that surrounded them here were much greener, and we covered in pink flowers and bright fruits. Flowers wrapped themselves around the trunks of those trees, and bushes in the distance took shapes of winged children. Haar let out a nervous laugh, “It’s much…different than my own, that’s for sure!” He turned on his heal and headed left, walking now. It was late, but he still didn’t want to risk being seen, and figured the trees offered more protection than anything. Slowly as he walked, the trees thinned and gave way to more blooming flowers, mostly rose bushes, but many others variations as well. It surprised him that such a beautiful field was so empty, even in the dead of night. <christgirl253>Sally: She smiled at his comment about her town. She had to agree, after seeing what she had of Halloween town during the war. And she'd always thought her town was lovely, even though she lived there. There were occasionally a few lovers hidden in these woods, but not usually at night. Any late night romantics generally took place in the pleasure garden district in the town proper. As they went, she spotted a peach rose bush and let go of his neck with one hand, quickly plucking a flower off and tucking it behind his ear. She knew she didn't have to worry about thorns - the majority of roses in Valentine's were thornless - and she thought the light orange went with... well... him very well. She settled back into his arms, blinking as her eyes grew a little tired and admired all the lush vegetation around them. The smell of flowers was intoxicating to her, and she leaned her head against his chest, still watching the scenery. <Candy-Leptic>Haar: Still worried about being seen, he was concentrating the path in front of him and devising ways in which he could possibly hide or conceal himself if need be. He doubted anyone would be violent in such a loving town, but he didn’t want to cause any…further misdoings to anyone. His concentration broke as he felt Sally loosen her grip, and his eyes widened when she placed the flower behind his ear. “S-Sally…” His face flushed blue and he looked forward. There were flowers in Halloween Town, sure, but none of them looked so natural and innocent. He smiled and his face grew paler, and enjoyed how quite and relaxing the meadow was. He looked down at Sally, and her tiredness reminded him of his own. Still, he wouldn’t slow down! As a matter of fac--- Haar stopped abruptly as he felt his foot hit something in the thick flowers under them. Raising an eyebrow, he moved some flowers with his foot to reveal…a boy…? He had to admit he nearly thought it to be a girl, seeing long blonde hair and…pink attire, but the facial features DID look to be masculine. Still the pink beret was a throw off… Sleeping on his side, he was tucked away, nearly invisible. “D-Do people normally take naps in these flowers?” Haar laughed quietly and was careful to step over him. <christgirl253>Sally: She looked curiously down at the bump and Haar's concerned question. "Only starving-artist types." she replied. Seeing a look of worry, she hurriedly amended, "They're not actually starving! It's just the expression." She looked down, peering closer at the sleeping speed bump. "I think that's the Beaumont boy. It's not uncommon for children of affluent families to run away and experience the more "romantic" lifestyle of the poorer citizens. They usually end up reconciling the two lifestyles, though." The boy hadn't even so much as stirred in his sleep, so she turned her attention back ahead of them. They were almost out of the forest, where Haar would have to turn towards the town. There shouldn't be too many people out this late, and the darkness would help hide his overwhelming Haloweenyness.
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: “I would have never assumed this town would have a runaway problem,” he laughed. “Even in Halloween Town, with all of the orphans and what not, it usually doesn’t come to someone leaving their own home!” He raised an eyebrow. “I don’t know if I would consider a poor lifestyle ‘romantic.’” Then again, what here WASN’T? He swallowed as the town drew nearer. Although, Haar supposed, he really didn’t need to worry too much, he WAS used to sneaking around Halloween Town, and this couldn’t be…much…different, right? He tightened his grip on Sally and tried to stay in the shadows of buildings and away from anything that lit up TOO much. He wasn’t thrilled on the idea of floating…He was very sure that might be considered taboo without any wings, and didn’t want to raise suspicion. <christgirl253>Sally: "Well, it's not like they're not taken care of. Even if they don't have a talent they're performing - and they always have a talent they're performing - people are more than happy to give them tips. And to be fair, they don't live the actual poor lifestyle. It's a faux-poor, and it's what they're going for all along." She tried not to giggle as he skulked from shadow to shadow, almost but not quite being more conspicuous than he would have been, if for no other reason than that no one moved like that here, and her white dress wasn't helping them blend in to anything. At one point when they were darting through an unavoidable street lamp, a young woman saw them and smiled at the spectacle of a couple being adorable... then here eyes went wide and her jaw slack as she got a better look at Haar. Sally waggled her fingers at the woman, a cheeky grin on her face. "It's just up here," she said as they drew closer. It'll be on your right, it's Rose Boulevard." <Candy-Leptic>Haar: “Faux poor’?” He looked down at Sally with an embarrassed smile. “Oh Sally, must you wave?” He couldn’t help but to laugh. At least the streets were near empty by this time. He did wonder if, at first, the woman considered them just another Valentine’s couple. For a moment, Haar pitied Sally that he was the one she was being carried by. He tightened his lips and his grip on her. He didn’t want to show it, but he started to wonder if this was how dates tended to end in Valentine’s town. The woman seemed so matter-of-fact that Sally was being carried…it would have been such an oddity in Halloween Town. What else was the norm here? He wondered if maybe Sally had been…missing out on things from her own town. Seeing a faux poor peddler asleep next to a cart of paper valentines, a deep smile rose on his face. Holding on to Sally tightly, he started to run towards it, and in a swift, single movement, hopped onto the cart’s handle and tipped it over, releasing the paper hearts into the wind fluttering behind them. Still holding onto Sally tightly, he laughed and remarked, “They really DO sleep through anything!” <christgirl253>Sally: She let out a small scream of surprise as Haar suddenly began running and leapt into the air, holding onto him as tightly as she could. Once he'd landed, upsetting the cart of cards, she laughed, watching the thin paper hearts whirl around her in the post rain breeze. She reached out and grabbed one, holding it up to Haar as though offering it to him. It was decorated with music notes and read in overly flowery script, "Together you and me, would make a sweet melody" It was perfectly sappy and ridiculous, and she had no idea if Haar could even sing or not. Her own voice, while sweet, was certainly not strong enough to make her primary feature.
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: “What, they have words on them?” He had no idea! Although it did seem overkill because you could always just say what was on your mind, he could see why such residents would appreciate the gesture. He leaned his head back so he could see what was written. While Sally held it up to him, he read it aloud. It sounded so odd to hear such words from his own voice, and his face grew a slight, slight shade of blue. “You pay money to give that to people?” He laughed for a moment, but then grew quiet. Maybe he shouldn’t have laughed? Maybe this was seriously something people do? Did Sally expect this? He feared she wouldn’t say anything to spare him embarrassment. He gave her a confident smile. “Alright then! You start!! I’ll follow your lead!” He laughed again, “Go on! Anything should work as long as I can sing the chorus!” He smiled at the thought of a skeleton man carrying a lady home singing. Oddly enough, this kind of behavior DID run in his family, he supposed. As a matter of fact, his singing voice did, too! <christgirl253>Sally: "They're just supposed to be... Oh, they're not..." her protestations and explanations died quickly away as he spoke. She blushed right along with him, trying to think of something quickly that they both might know. Christmas carols popped to mind, as they tended to overwhelm the school the second Thanksgiving was over, but she tried to think of another. She knew hundreds, possibly thousands of love songs, but she wasn't sure if he would know any. She searched her brain instead for Halloween songs. Did those even exist? What was the scariest song she knew? Wait, there was one she had heard drifting through the halls both years she had worked there on Halloween. How did it go, how did it go?? She wasn't sure of all the words, but she started it, her voice drifting in a high haunting melody, "Have you seen the ghost of John?" <Candy-Leptic>Haar: Approaching her street, he was focused on the directions she gave him, and was surprised to hear to tune familiar to him. More so, he was surprised Sally knew it. He picked up where she started, in a rich, baritone voice; “ All white bones with the skin all gone, oooh, ooh ooh ohh…” He lowered an eyebrow and shook his head. “Sally, teach me a Valentine’s song! Halloween ones are not quite fitting, if I dare say! Even if it’s short!” <christgirl253>Sally: "I thought you wanted one we could sing together!" she said teasingly, then set to work thinking. "They're all love songs, you know," she warned, before launching into the first one that came to mind. She rested her head on his shoulder as she sang, "You're in my arms and all the world is calm. The music's playing on for only two. So close together, and when I'm with you, so close to feeling alive. A life goes by, romantic dreams will stop, so I'll bid my goodbye and never knew, so close was waiting, waiting here with you and now, forever, I know, all that I want is, to hold you so close, so close to reaching..." she paused as they reached her house finally. It hadn't been hard to find, it had "Heartnet" painted in pink flowing script on the mailbox. She looked at him, unsure what he wanted to do next. <Candy-Leptic>Haar: He listened to her sing intent on learning the words, only to be surprised for her to stop so abruptly. He raised his shoulders and started to up to her front door, and started to sing softly, a few octaves below what she had sung. “ You’re in my arms and all the world is calm. The music’s playing on for only two- ” He opened her door, lightly, and gently set her down on a nearby couch. “ So close together, and when I’m with you, so close to feeling alive.” He paused for a moment and let out a light laugh, “I’m afraid that’s all I remember!” <christgirl253>Sally: She took one of his hands to help her up from the couch. As she stood, she bit her lip, looking up at him before continuing. "A life goes by, romantic dreams will stop. So I'll bid mine goodbye and never knew so close was waiting, waiting here with you, and now, forever, I know, all that I want is to hold you so close. So close to reaching that famous happy end, almost believing this was not pretend. Now you're beside me, and look how far we've come, so far we are so close. Oh how could I face the faceless days if I should lose you now? We're so close to reaching that famous happy end, almost believing this was not pretend, let's go on dreaming, for we know we are so close, so close and still so far..." She paused after every line, letting him repeat it. Her voice hung on the last note. As she sang she glanced down at their hands, still together, and found herself focusing on them the entire time.
<Candy-Leptic>Haar: Giving Sally a confident smile, he carefully listened to and recited her lines, much deeper than what she sang, and always strong, but a little quieter than her volume. He slowly raised his volume towards the end, and held the last note with her. “Now,” he said softly, “That’s a much better duet, wouldn’t you agree?” He tightened his grip on her hand before letting go, and he raised a hand to ensure her flower was still tucked behind his ear. “Sally, it’s so late, you must be exhausted!” He looked out her window. At any rate, the sun was bound to show itself soon, and he must be careful to leave while he could still be concealed by the dark. He turned back to her. “We’ll see each other soon, I’m sure, have no worry!” He put a hand over his heart and moved closer to her. “You have my word.” <christgirl253>Sally: She blinked her eyes heavily. He was absolutely right, she was exhausted. The adrenaline from their little romp had kept her awake for a while, but it was wearing off. She looked up at him, a slow, tired smile growing on her lips. She kissed him - on the cheek. The scent of rose wafted to her as she did, curling gently around his cheekbone. She dropped off her tiptoes. "Goodnight, I suppose." <Candy-Leptic>Haar: He looked down at Sally, his face relaxed. He had to admit, he was quite exhausted too, and perhaps even too tired now to not show it. He figured he could make it through Valentine’s Ville all right, to the academy, however, might prove to be a challenge! He blinked tiredly at Sally. It did occur to him to place his flower in her own hair… but it was a gift, wasn’t it? Not to mention, he was starting to become attached to it. He supposed eventually, he would just have to return the favor. He smiled as she kissed him, and in a tired stupor, tilted his head slightly. He didn’t want to assume whether this was a platonic kiss or not, it deemed much, much too difficult to ponder at the moment. Instead, he took a much simpler route. He leaned forward and placed his lips upon hers, just for a moment, but it was long enough to have some ounce of passion in it. “Goodnight, Sally.” Somethings, he decided, he just had to do himself! He smiled and took a step back, and in a second was outside her closed door. Still for a moment, he removed the flower and inhaled its aroma before returning it back to his ear, and started his journey home.
