The newly-formed New Warriors clash with the High Evolutionary and his goons in their first battle.

(a.k.a How Justice's new New Warriors were formed)

Sam Alexander, Water Snake, Hummingbird and Kaine are in trouble with High Evolutionary and the Evolutionary goons when Justice, Speedball, Mark Sim and Sun Girl arrive to save Sam. According to Speedball, the mages of New Salem helped them to locate Sam Alexander by using their teleporting spell to send them to Mount Wundagore. As Justice and others fight the Evolutionaries to a stand-still, Mark Sim transforms into a monstrous Haechi creature in the middle of the fight to wipe the floor with the Evolutionary goons. While everyone are fighting, Speedball bumps into Water Snake and mistakes her for his old teammate Namorita. Sam Alexander tries to warn Justice about High Evolutionary's evil plan but he was shot down. High Evolutionary turns on the machine which makes the New Warriors scream and convulse in pain as it affects mainly the superpowered individuals. Sun Girl (Selah Burke) is the only New Warrior who is not affected by the depowering machine because she is a human armed with gadgets. High Evolutionary offers Sun Girl the only non-powered human of the New Warriors to join him. Sun Girl responds to him with an epic way of saying “F*** you!” to High Evolutionary and saves her teammates. The furious High Evolutionary hastily explains that the Celestials are on their way to judge mankind, and because of mutants and other genetic freaks among mankind – the Celestials will doom the planet for destruction. High Evolutionary and his goons teleport away before Justice could blast them. At the aftermath of the battle, Justice sees that they have won, and asks who would like to become a member of The New Warriors. Aside from Speedball; Sun Girl and Hummingbird accept the offer while the others refuse. Although Water Snake, Sam Alexander and Haechi are reluctant about it, they eventually join the New Warriors.

Haechi haechi haechi

(The haechi is a mythical animal that is meant to defend against fire and is the symbol of Seoul. You often find two haechi statues outside the gates of buildings. And recently, pink versions have appeared all over Seoul, though not usually quite as big, or as fluffy as the ones outside City Hall right now.

The Tutor

Synopsis: Tutoring session with Haechi takes a passionate turn, revealing mutual attraction and the start of a relationship.

Leaning back in your chair, you stared at Haechi Wang's endearing smile. To be honest, you didn't think teaching would be this interesting. However, this was now more about Haechi's magnetic pull than it was about chemistry.

You were always aware of Haechi's exceptional academic achievements.  Her reputation as the resident genius of the school was well-established, but until right now you hadn't really appreciated her gorgeous features and dazzling eyes.

You allowed your thoughts to wander for a while, taking your focus off the chemistry textbook. You couldn't help but daydream about the possibilities that lay beneath her bookish exterior.

Sensing your far-off thoughts, Haechi paused her explanation. She stared at you with mesmerising eyes, her lips curled into a subtle, sarcastic smile. Her tone was pleasant and gentle as she asked, "Are you paying attention?"

Her question snapped you back to reality, so you nodded and said, "Of course, Haechi. I'm holding onto to every word."

Haechi's smile widened, her eyes never taking off from yours. As she said, "Okay, let's test that," her fingers flicked to a specific chapter in the textbook "What does natural gas comprise of?"

You looked away for a brief moment while still captivated in her gaze, and then you nodded, though you weren't quite sure you understood what she was saying.

Haechi drew in closer, her innocent smile turning wicked. "You seem a little... distracted today," she said in a playful, low voice.

Caught off guard, you blushed, realizing that she had noticed your reverie. "I apologise, Haechi. I swear I'll concentrate."

A cunning smirk played at Haechi's lips. She said, her voice tinged with interest, "It's okay; I don't mind the distraction."

As you tried to take in what she had said, your heart raced. Was she simply...? Your mind raced, and in an attempt to cover up your humiliation, you hastily looked away. "I... I didn't mean to."

However, before you could say anything more, Haechi's fingers delicately raised your chin, forcing you to look into her eyes once more. A peculiar mixture of amusement and something more filled her eyes. She questioned, "What's distracting you?"

You were utterly distracted by Haechi, who was seated inches away from you, and the chemistry class had entirely vanished from your mind. You couldn't exactly understand the look in her eyes, but there was a glimmer of anticipation.  Perhaps it was the surroundings, perhaps the intensity of the moment, but you sensed an unspoken communication between you.

You inhaled deeply and leaned closer, almost putting your lips to hers. You two had an obvious chemistry, even though you weren't quite sure what it meant. Your body responded to the close proximity, and your heart sped up.

Haechi seemed genuinely taken aback and her wicked smirk disappeared. She looked into your eyes and said, "Do you wanna make out?"

A thousand thoughts passed through your mind in the pulse that before your reply. Could it be that Haechi thought the same thing? Was she as drawn to you as you were to her?

You wanted to respond with a loud "yes," but as soon as the word came out of your mouth, you closed it. Her bold inquiry made you blink in shock. It was as though she could read your mind or had discovered your secret desires.

Tension in the room increased, and neither of you said anything. You felt as though you were caught in a moment with countless possibilities. Unspoken words and unfulfilled desires filled the air.

Then Haechi softly leaned in, her lips brushing yours, in the middle of this intense quiet. As your hearts beat in time while you kissed her, it appeared as though the world vanished. As you kissed passionately, everything else faded away, and your chemistry took on a whole new meaning.

Haechi smiled at you as you both pulled away, gasping and red. She admitted, "I've wanted to do that for so long," her eyes expressing the same desire you had been carrying around.

You muttered, "Me too, Haechi," as your lips formed a similar smile. "I just didn't know if you felt the same way."

Haechi cupped your cheek tenderly, her bright eyes sparkling. "I've always felt the same way, but I wanted you to make the first move."

You experienced a sense of relief upon hearing that admission, and you realised that your chemistry extended much beyond the course materials you were reading. It was a fresh start for both of you, full of hope for a meaningful relationship and a love that had been waiting to blossom.

From that day forward, your tutoring sessions became an opportunity to explore the chemistry that existed between you and Haechi.
