Oikawa Tooru x Fem!Reader

Genre : Angst to fluff , Slight Misunderstanding between oikawa and reader, mention of insecurity, one shot, jealous reader, one sided love.

Summary : “Lucky” is a word that the reader likes to use whenever she sees how close fangirls get with Oikawa. She likes Oikawa but he never seemed to pay attention to her despite her being his only female close friend. Iwa gave Oikawa a wake up call after noticing the reader being distant with everyone.

You let out a sigh as you watch from afar how Oikawa interacts with his fan girls. Gifts of confession from the many girls seen on his arms as he smiled gleefully at them before rejecting them. It made your heart clench that the possibility of you being like them was high despite knowing Oikawa longer and more personal that the rest of his fangirls. Currently you lean your body against the wall as you let out another sigh. He promised you that he will hang out with you after practice but it seems like he had forgotten about it and was too busy with other stuff. Shaking your head, you pull yourself together before leaving the school property and head back home where you let your feelings out.

You and Oikawa had been friends since you guys were in elementary school. Iwaizumi introduced you to Oikawa when he came over for a play date. Ever since then, you three were inseparable, well…that was until Oikawa got popular in middle school. He still does talk to you but it felt like the two of you were mere strangers to the eye of the public who didn’t know you two from elementary school.

“Hey…aunty told me you weren’t feeling yourself. Is it because of him?” Iwaizumi spoke as he laid beside you on your bed as you buried your head into your pillow. You only tighten your grip around your pillow in response. You didn’t want to think about him at all. All you wanted to do was cry and sleep through the whole weekend. You felt him patting your head.

‘It doesn’t even matter. I’m just a friend to him”, you replied.

Iwaizumi sighed before pulling you into his embrace. He gently strokes your hair while murmuring soothing words into your ear. Soon you found yourself fast asleep. He knew that you liked Oikawa for years. On the other hand, Oikawa was too oblivious to your feelings and actions. Sometimes Iwaizumi wanted to knock Oikawa’s head for being too dumb but thus that was non of his business. He wanted Oikawa to realize it for himself.

He gently moved you on to your pillow before leaving your room to go back to his house.

‘You idiot, how oblivious can you be towards your own crush’s feelings’, he mumbled underneath his breath. He made himself a note to talk to Oikawa about the issue tomorrow.

Monday, School Day, 8:00am…

Iwaizumi found out that you had left home earlier than usual when he went to your house. He shrugged his shoulders and headed to school like usual but the only weird thing was he couldn’t find you anywhere. He was about to text you when he felt someone’s arm around his shoulder. He looked over to see none other than Oikawa Tooru himself. He noticed that Oikawa’s eyes wandered around for someone. Obviously it was you, who else would Oikawa look for.

“Where is y/n-chan?”, he spoke with a voice full of curiosity. Iwaizumi let out a sigh before shrugging his shoulders. “She left home early. I haven’t seen her in school yet. So I don’t know”, he replied before attempting to leave Oikawa behind. Just then he felt Oikawa tug on his uniform.

“Is she mad that I forgot about the hangout? I texted her that I was sorry”. Iwa stopped walking before turning to look at Oikawa in the face. “If you were sorry, you would have dropped by to see her. Do you even know that she had been crying for the past few days, JUST CAUSE OF YOU- *sigh* for god sake Oikawa, open your damn eyes. You're just leading her on. If you don’t like her, just tell her. Stop hurting her” Iwa ended his statement before walking away, leaving Oikawa to drown in his thoughts.

Meanwhile you on the other hand sat in the library with your head resting on your folded arms on the table. As you looked out through the big window panel beside you. Just then you saw someone standing in front of you, blocking the sunlight in front of you. You looked up to see Oikawa. You remained composed as you sat up, patting the seat next to you for Oikawa to sit.

“Sorry”, he spoke lowly.

You shook your head and gave him a warm smile. “It’s fine. They’re your fans, it’s your life anyways. Who am i to stop you”, you fake chuckled. Oikawa held your hand and brought it to his lips before leaving a peck. “I’m sorry for being a dumbass and not realizing that you like me”. His actions stunt you as you feel your cheeks heating up. He smiled before leaning in to kiss your lips. Your eyes fluttered shut as you enjoyed the kiss under the morning sunlight. You pulled away and looked him in the eye. “Glad you realize dumbass” “Yah, y/n-chan”, he pouted as you let out a giggle. He held you close to him, never wanting to let go of you.

“I love you”, he whispered into your ear before leaving a peck on your temple.

 He knew you needed someone, it was obvious. He noticed how you'd curl up with his shirts when he left. He wondered why you’d want an older guy but then again the way the word daddy rolled off your lips so casually asking him to hurry and cuddle makes it clear. He puts his cig out walking back to you holding you close. You didn't need to tell him anything, he just knew. He sometimes wonders if leaving you would be better but then he sees the look on your face when you space out while with him and he knows that option is no better. He loved you for more then your body but he knows who you pretended he is, even if you don't. But seeing you look calm and content with life for a moment makes his heart feel full... he’ll hold you as long as you need even if he landed up being up with you late hours of the night to help prevent your nightmares.

You'd never smoke... you promised. But if it wasn't for broken promises, you probably wouldn't be laying in bed with him right now. He was older then you but not that much older. Was it love? Or just quick comfort for the both of you? Would he leave when he found a girl closer to his age? Who knew. What mattered right now was how the moonlight danced off his bleached hair as he stood near the window lighting a cigarette. You used to hate the smell but now you find comfort in it. You only smoked when stressed, never causally. Ukai told you that you were to pretty for it, and to just come to him when things got hard. He provided comfort whenever you needed him. The soft smile that you notice forms on his face when you ask him to cuddle.

“I love you Ukai” you blurt out not thinking about it, then getting quickly flustered once you realize what you just said.

“I love you too baby girl, now try to sleep.” You relax against him... that was just the answer you needed to hear.

As you fall asleep in his arms tonight they both know one thing - that whatever this little thing that they have going on - it's good for the both of them.
