in addition to the relation between roxy and gamzee regarding dirk, it would seem that the crush roxy has on dirk is… not exactly fabricated, but kind of like nominative determinism, or how the comic views manifestation.

roxy knows how candy shit works as a fanfic author that makes meta remarks in her work. i just think that she hoped that if she comphetted hard enough, then both she and dirk would believe that roxy actually had a crush on him. because a silly drunk girl said she was in love, then what else even is there to glean from this?

the comic takes a pretty interesting stance on queer love because of how it depicts different characters dancing with or without “candy” labels even if the relationship itself is pretty fuckin queer… out right saying husband, boyfriend, moirail, kismesis vs whatever vrisrezi have going on or davekat or arasol. the power of words or whatever.
