I used to hate myself for being half Polish, saying to my mom “English in America, Polish in Poland” and forcing myself to change my voice and loose my accent. But now, I’m trying to be proud of the person I am and my heritage, and I’m glad I never lost the language.

Butthead has gotten too big for his britches and decided he’s gonna start imitating the two Polish roosters who like to go after your legs when you’re not looking. He got to spend timeout cuddling with me instead.

Fun random fact about me:

I'm half Polish. Bio father is originally from Gdansk. So we might have some German somewhere too!

"Oh, you're half Polish? Can you speak Polish? Did your dad teach you?"

... No. No he didn't. The only thing that man taught me was that I was a mistake who should never have been born. He walked out on my mum and me when I was a year old. Also he's an unrepentant narcissist. So no. That man never taught me anything. I taught myself.

(That was heavier than I meant it, sorry. Just venting. I get this a lot.)
