4. Do you have writing habits or rituals?
Re-reading the beginning of the scene or paragraph or chapter when I return to writing. Having a cup of tea or wine on hand before I settle down. Re-writing an entire scene if writing it is like pulling teeth. Re-writing as editing. probably more i’m forgetting about…

I’M FEELING THOROUGHLY ENABLED RIGHT NOW
I’M HERE FOR YOU FRIEND. I’M SO HERE FOR YOU. AND YOU ARE WELCOME DOWN IN THE (VERY NICE) PIT.
#16? :)
16. Do you have that one fanfic that you wrote a ton for, ages ago, but never posted? Will this be the year, come hell or high water, that it WILL get finished and posted?
I think the longest thing I wrote (not completed though) without publishing was this crime world human AU thing, but if memory serves I once actually ended up posting it very lowkey, under the cut on tumblr, which went largely unnoticed. The idea is that Thor is an “””interrogator””” for hire and his newest job is Loki. There’s, ahem, electorture involved, and lots of freaky domesticity. Now I’m thinking how it might end up working if I introduced Hela to the universe and switched things around... that might make it happen this year!

Lol! I also need fic - stuff I didn’t write. Someone else has to start writing for these two.

Not that this list isn’t long enough (wow) but How To Be A Victorian is one of the most useful resources I’ve found for writing this time period. (I’m sure I could rec more but I’m away from my shelves atm)
I have a stack of Victorian culture books that comes up to my waist (and I’m 5′10″) and I left the majority of them off of this list because there are just too damned many (also the many many books on Victorian sex and sexuality that have somehow found their way into my possession), but I absolutely concur with How To Be A Victorian and mayyyy possibly have memorized a good chunk of it? Also, I have a massive nerd crush on Ruth Goodman.
For those interested in Victorian culture and daily life, I also highly recommend Inside the Victorian Home by Judith Flanders, which draws not only on historical and contemporary sources but also on the popular literature of the time. I love this book so much that I need to replace my current copy, because it is now in pieces from being loved too much.

THAT LAST SENTENCE THO. literal chills :o :o :o
Thaaaaank you. ❤❤❤ I was very pleased with this entire thing. As I told @veliseraptor, it’s one of the rare times that I’ve written something where I can hear the character speaking the entire thing. Rereading this in Hiddleston’s voice makes that last sentence even better... worse... better.
@raybrandt @hallsofvalhalla @kalllistos @arahir if i send yall iwtv stuff, just know that i don’t intend to fangirl alone js 🤷♀️ 🤷♀️
