5. What do you wish someone would ask you about [insert fic]? Answer it now!
ooh, yes, absolutely! i think one question i haven't ever really gotten about mushroomverse is 'why'--why has this particular project captured your time and energy and attention--or 'what was important about it', and the funny thing is those both strike me as very common to ask in original fic/art spaces but not at all in fanwork spaces. one really important thing to me about mushroomverse, and a driving factor of its existence, is that a knock-on effect of the Bay movies has been the unspoken baseline assumption in TF fandom that 'realism+humans=US military involvement' and i want to push back against it. this is why 'nothing is more sacred than any other thing' is the foundational story even though it's not the same historical fiction tone I took for the rest of it. the whole thing is an exercise in 'no this can feel real and grounded and full of humans and have NOTHING to do with the human military, and i'll prove it.'
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?
omegaverse. i shan't elaborate.
15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?
man this is a HARD question because AUs are like. more than half of everything I've written. I'm very fond of all my fairy tale/myth stuff. I really like Fathomless, still. that's way up there. it's not the kind of thing I can go back to and play in very easily but I really love how it turned out, and it's not the kind of story that would work anywhere except transformers.
