Oh my, Nicolas has arrived!
It’s actually too sunny to get a good photo of him, but he is SO incredible! The detail! He is utterly exquisite! Just look!
Someone ought to buy his sibling from @hamilpop immediately before I decide I also need his slightly more cynical, more vampiric-feeling self for myself too!
Here is is with my violin. 🎻
I got this violin when I was in my first year of secondary school. So I was 11/12. And just after I’d got it, I read The Vampire Lestat for the first time. More often I think, violins tend to have a lighter varnish than this. And it always felt a strange thing to me, as child me associated with Nicki, that Nicki’s violin is described as dark. And so was mine. Although, his is a Stradivarius. And mine was a couple of hundred quid, suitable for a kid 😂 (the first exam I did with it, the examiner commented that I was too small to be playing a full sized violin 😭😭😭… Also, extra 😭 because I’m not sure if I grew since then?! 😂🤣😂🤣😂💀)
Anyway, my school violin teacher said it was a miracle this violin lasted through my exams & I didn’t need a better one. But when I chose it, the violin man gave me 2 violins to try out. The other violin was a light caramel colour & exquisitely beautiful! Flamed gorgeously, with a matte varnish. Aesthetically it was clearly prettier. But this violin, I just fell in love with its tone. The violin man was shocked when I picked this one. I especially think he thought a little kid would go for the prettiest of the pair.
Anyway, how incredible is funkopop Nicolas! Thank you SO much @hamilpop - he is PERFECT!
