Did anyone notice that Oak messed up a word in the Hamilton proshot during The Election of 1800?

I was watching a proshot clip of Ten Duel Commandments to take note of the choreography, and I noticed that Eliza is up on the second floor in the back.

My first assumption for why was her presence is symbolic of what’s on the line for Hamilton. He is, after all, circumventing Washington’s orders not to engage Lee for his criticism by acting as Laurens’ second. There’s still a risk in his participation. BUT, I then noticed Hercules—who left for home the song before—also up there with her, and that got me reinterpreting the situation. Maybe due to their shared civilian status during the war, they are both part of the ensemble by default (at least for this song). By being placed there instead another ensemble cast member, they are somehow… supporting those involved? I can theorize how they end up there, but why is a bit difficult for me to figure out right now.

So with the Wicked movie coming out soon, I’ve been thinking about how much I really just want a pro-shot instead. But unfortunately, it will never happen.

In order for a broadway show to be released on Disney, it needs to meet the following criteria:

1. Is based on actual historical events

2. Takes place in NY

3. Main character has no parents or money

4. There’s a mass rebellion against an out of touch old man and it’s really obvious that the really powerful out of touch old man should win, right?

5. Wrong, they win the mass rebellion!

6. The aforementioned penniless orphan main character gets together with a really rich girl

I guess we’ll just have to watch enough Hamilton and Newsies to feed our theater kid souls.

I was supposed to go to laundry. They were playing Hamilton in the media room next to the laundry room. So now I’m watching Hamilton because like a dumbass theatre kid I couldn’t resist the siren’s song.

while everyone is buzzing about the hamilton proshot, this is IMPORTANT. ensemblists matter and do not deserve to be erased from the narrative like this. every single person in the ensemble is so integral to the show as a whole, ESPECIALLY in hamilton. it’s honestly super disappointing that it won’t be the real original cast.
