The restless boar grumbled and whined, but none of his pleas seemed to deter Kanae from keeping him in his infirmary bed. He could hear the birds chirping outside, feel the pleasant breeze that slipped in through the open window, and she would have him locked up inside. How cruel!
"I'm telling you, I feel much better already! If my wounds were getting infected, I'd know it!" Inosuke grumbled, his protests already weaker than they might be with anyone else. This tall lady... she had a way of making him lower his defenses, and he couldn't figure out how she even did it.
"If I don't go back to training soon, everyone's gonna get ahead of me! They'll train and kill demons without me, and I won't be able to catch up!"
His whining didn't seem to get through to her. Her hands worked with expert gestures, pulling at bandages and examining the numerous cuts that lacerated his skin. His uniform choice - or lack thereof - had him logically more exposed than the rest of the demon slayers.
"Just let me do... at least some pushups... or some running outside!" He could feel his determination fade with each passing second spent in her company. "I swear I won't jump above the walls and try to escape!"
