Soaking and blocking my finished Glittering Snowscape shawl after 1 year and 2 months of intermittent knitting 😁🧶❄️✨
is wip wednesday a thing on fibre crafts tumblr? i feel like it should be. it probably is.
anyway, i'm currently working on the terracotta sweater by le knit and i am loving it! so much. i'm not going to lie, i'm worried about the sleeves but i have a long way to go before that becomes a problem.
my podcast for this project is the sheridan tapes (recommended by @mintmentos) and it is sooooooooo good.
I'm gonna need to frog this knitting project i was about to finish cuz i realized it wasn't looking like the vision i had, i was really excited about it too, but I'm not mad about it, because i now know exactly what i should and shouldn't do. so this is your friendly reminder to frog that project if you're not happy with it, don't be ashamed, the error part in "trial and error" is just as important as the trial. don't finish it just for it to end up collecting dust in your closet.
as a new englander i’ve rarely ventured into the world of summer knits but i have to say im hooked, i loved making this and i love the look and feel of the finished garment.
i’ve been wanting to experiment with t shirt patterns that can be easily modified to accommodate for intarsia because i have a lot of silly little shirts i want to make. this was my first time using a cotton-dominant yarn blend for a garment. definitely have some adjustments as far as binding off for the folded hem. i especially love the short-row sleeves, they really make it look like a classic tee in a way that most other sleeve techniques miss
pattern is Sunshine Tee by Andrea Gaughan and i used Knitting For Olive cotton merino in line yellow. I made size 4 and used just a little bit more than 3 skeins
I went to my local grocery co-op and NO ONE complimented my new hand knit sweater
Finally finished knitting my dress! (OK, technically I finished the knitting last week, but only got my act together, sewing in the reinforcement tape, yesterday.) It fits perfectly and I'm so pleased with it.
This took about three weeks to knit, from my own design, developing a pattern as I worked. Lots of measurements and calculations, but it turns out it's true: when you knit a tension square and determine stitches per inch, you really can make something that matches your size perfectly! Who knew?
