this was a commission, a raven take on one of my possum mugs
This is the very first thing I made! It is a kurinuki jar inspired by the Cycladic figurines, though it went a bit more Easter Island. It is unburnished, just a coat of terra sigillata (which you might see has flaked off in a few places. My bad; I need to work on that.)
It’s also my first attempt at the kurinuki technique, where you take a hunk of clay and shape the outside by cutting, then you hollow it out. The lid could definitely have a tighter fit, but I had a lot of fun with it, and I learned a lot.

There’s a show coming up, and I think I’m going to be able to eke this thing out in time to enter it!
You can probably see some lighter spots of the red; that is from where I scratched some away in order to neaten up some lines. They should even out once fired.
I've still got my shop update on hold due to the Canada Post strike, but am slowly putting work on the shop in case it ends sooner than expected (fingers very much crossed).
Just got done with the seemingly endless photo-editing process today, so here are some photos of the two leaf litter mugs feat. french press prop (suggested my my partner as he was helping with the photo shoot & is very clever & lovely <3).

But every screen and monitor is different, that I unfortunately have no control over - if only I was some AI robot creature that could infiltrate all your screens and calibrate them to match my mugs and things, that would solve this issue! But for now, you will just have to be aware I did my best and there can be a slight difference in colors etc.
