While doing my Discord thread reread of @phasedsun's Hello World, I commented on one of the early pages that the soldiers are moving toward the light. This gave me the idea for a moth basis FORM, who you see here ^^ Their name is Hanmi and they have several extra limbs. I designed her with the Void ascended image first, because I hadn't known back then that wasn't the default vw v You'll see their actual design next time :]

Dong and Yubin had been friends for a while, both of them developing a crush somewhere along the way. Both girls were very shy and had some of the same interests. However, they were a little oblivious to one another’s feelings.
Yubin loved the way Dong’s face would light up after finding an article of clothing she had been searching forever for, or how soft her expressions got around her own cat or other cats in general. She loved seeing her relaxed and just enjoying certain times of the day. She even loved seeing how cold she was to others, seeing how she would never react to their advances and just call them pathetic for even trying to get at her.
But she knew she never had a chance with her. Dong was too perfect. Too pretty to be seen like that by someone else.
What she did not know was how Dong had felt.
Dong loved everything about Yubin. She loved the way her nose would scrunch up at something in disgust. Loved to see her reactions to her favorite things. Really Yubin was a very reserved person like she was, but was not as reactive. She liked playing jokes, but really just kept to herself. Dong loved that about her. Loved when she would react to things that she showed her.
Everything was just beyond perfect for them. But she was certain Yubin never felt that way, and never would. But it didn’t stop her from thinking and imagining what it would be like if she had. If she would gain the courage to ask her out or even find out if she had gone that way like she did.
“I will not be able to come over tonight.” Yubin stated as they talked during lunch. It was normal for them to meet for lunch, the two chatting about their day so far.
“Oh?” Dong frowned. “Work?” She asked.
“No, one of my friends wants to hang out. I have not seen her in a while, so I agreed.” She shrugged her shoulders as she picked up a piece of chicken to eat it.
“Well have fun with her.” Dong smiled.
Mentally, she was screaming. She really did not want her to have fun. Yes, she knew Yubin was allowed to have other friends, but she could not help but feel jealous. Jealous that someone else was taking up her time and not her.
Yubin was a little sad to see her reaction, but it was enough for her to really know how Dong had felt. She knew she really never had a chance, but it still hurt.
It was later in the day, Yubin sitting with Yoohyeon, one of her friends, at a dinner table. The two were great friends. She also did admit that the older girl was very pretty, very easy to talk to, just all around a fun person.
“I will have to admit… I never thought you would say yes to hanging out with me.” Yoohyeon chuckled. “You are always with that girl.” She smiled.
“Dong?” Yubin asked, watching the taller girl nod her head. “We are just friends.” She brushed the comment off, trying not to be hurt by her own words. Just friends. She did not think those words would ever hurt her, but it did.
“So you are not seeing anyone?” Yoohyeon asked, watching the younger girl shake her head in response. “I know it is probably really… Really bad to ask but… Maybe… I could take you on a better date?” She asked quietly.
“Better date?” Yubin chuckled. They were already out to dinner and here she was, asking her out.
“Yeah, like… I actually take you somewhere nice instead of some place we always go to.” Yoohyeon explained, a smile on her face.
Yubin watched her carefully, seeing the smile. The genuine look on her face. Yes, she had been head over heels for Dong… But was she really ever going to have the same feelings? Here she was, sitting across one of her friends that knew she was into girls, asking her out. Yoohyeon was pretty, she was fun, and she was just… Yoohyeon.
“Yeah. That… That sounds like a good idea.” Yubin finally answered. She watched as Yoohyeon’s smile grew, obviously happy that she had said yes.
The rest of their time was enjoyable, talking about various things. Both of them were enjoying their company.
After a week, they had gone on another date, Yubin had second thoughts, but had ultimately had fun. She liked spending time with the older girl and quite enjoyed it. She felt a little free, happy that she was spending her time with her instead of brooding over a crush that she knew could never happen.
“You have been missing for a while.” Dong chuckled when she saw her friend again.
“Sorry, I… I have been seeing someone.” Yubin smiled as she sat down at the table.
Dong watched as she got herself situated, keeping her expressions in tact while her mind was screaming at the idea of Yubin seeing someone else. Why had she not told her of seeing someone? Yes, it hurt her to even think of her seeing someone else, but she was a little hurt that she had never told her.
“Have you two been seeing each other long?” Dong muttered, trying to distract herself with the menu in front of her.
“About a week… She is very fun.” Yubin chuckled. “Complete opposite of me.” She smiled.
Dong watched her as she spoke of this girl, her heart slowly chipping away the more she heard. Yubin had feelings for someone else and they were not for her.
They finished the rest of their little get together, both of them heading their separate ways. Dong felt herself growing more and more upset with herself the further she had gotten away from her. Her chest felt tight, the lump in her throat now beginning to be painful as she walked down the streets. A few tears slipped out, causing her to wipe them away before anyone noticed.
When she got into her apartment, she could not help but let out a few tiny cries.
Yubin was not hers. She was never hers and she was going to need to accept that.
