Avery Grambs Grief Headcanons
Note:- Everyone stand back I am in my element with the angst Warnings ⚠️:- Grief and angst (and a pinch of fluff)
The last time Avery and Sarah had a converstation it was about travelling
The day Avery came back to the house after Hannah was gone she just collapsed and cried for hours curled up on the floor
That place haunted Avery for the weeks to come because it was no longer a home... Her home was gone
The next few weeks Avery was like a robot going through the whole fostering to Libby eventually taking her custody
One day after being with Libby for a day or two Avery went to church and just questioned everything and begged the gods to return her mom
There were few times when Avery was on the verge of harming herself
She did not have it in her to visit her mom's grave for a long time
The only time she felt a little joy was when she played chess with Harry
Avery drowned herself in schoolwork and her job just so she didn't have to think
She tried calling Ricky once or twice in hopes her 'dad' would finally come around... He never picked up
The only time Avery allowed to cry over Hannah was when she was looking at the postcards
On the one year mark of her mom being gone Avery was soo taken by grief she could not do anything, The only thing she was able to do was help Libby make cupcackes in her mom's honour (the cupcakes were donated to a shelter for single mothers)
The one year mark of Hannah's death after Avery got the inheritance was as rough as the first one because to Avery it felt like she was grieving two people a mom she knew and the strong girl who had a painful life
She drank like Jameson that day to see if it would take the pain away... It did not... Seeing her like that Jameson vowed not to drink when he is pain
After that every year to honour Hannah, her and Jameson with Libby make cupcakes for the shelter... Even the twins joined in after they were old enough
After Blake died Avery and Toby visited Hannah's grave together and just talked to her the whole day until sundown and afterwards went to the diner Hannah worked at... They had lemon pie
Avery makes Oren click a picture of her and Jameson at the exact location of the one's in the postcard and she has an album where she pastes the picture and writes to her mom... the only other person who has seen that album is Jameson
