i kNOW and that makes me SO mad! i hoped there’d be a flashback or something, but that’s unlikely given that tomorrow is his last episode (i think??? raúl isn’t listed for more on imdb) and so much is already gonna be going on that i doubt they’ll spend any time on chilton that isn’t ‘necessary’

but what bugs me the most (and what really shouldn’t bug me) is that bryan fuller gave multiple interviews saying that chilton was gonna have a ‘significant role’ in capturing hanniba, and a ‘major’ one in the red dragon arc but….that hasn’t happened???? unless the significant role in capturing hannibal was getting his (actually really smart) plan rejected by everyone he approached it with. we were also told they wouldn’t ‘magically have him show up and [have] everything [be] fine’ but that’s basically what happened. yeah we got a more in-depth look at the actual trauma and the effects it left on him (which i’ll admit was absolutely amazing) but for a character who supposedly was going to have a major part this season, we didn’t even get a hint as to how exactly he recuperated. with will we saw him bandaged up in his hospital bed; we saw the same thing with alana; jack we found out survived because he didn’t pull out the glass in his neck; but with chilton? all we saw was the bullet miss his brain, which only showed us the specifications of his wounds not how he survived - after all, there’s still a chance of survival even if you suffer a gunshot to the brain (albeit with some complications depending on the location of the damage)

but i don’t know i’m just being a whiny fangirl i guess. it just feels to me like we were promised a lot more than we were actually given

i guess we’ll just have to see what happens next episode
