The above piece of advice is by Dolphus Raymond from How to Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. To be honest, I read this book a while ago and I don’t even have a copy of this book anymore (sad life).
But I vividly remember Mr. Raymond, how he portrayed himself to be a day and night drinker. The above picture is a confession made by him when he admitted that he didn’t drink much of alcohol but made others deliberately to conceive him as an alcoholic. It stopped people from questioning him (or his actions) and he never had to explain others his way of life.
