“My Happiness”

I watched my happiness skip in front of me, without a care in the world, lovely, dressed in bright white and yellow, daisies in her hair, the train of her dress in slow motion, dancing against the air.

That’s how I saw my happiness, bringing together the days, once apart, holding hands with the trees, skipping away, nothing more gorgeous and wild, than seeing her that way.

Then, violent storms brought turmoil, daisies ripped and petals soiled, her dress went flying, twisting through the air, chocking around her neck, fearfully, she found herself vulnerable, bare.

But just as the storm came, it passed, my happiness, again, surpassed, as I've seen before, she began to skip, gathering her garments and glory, always remaining courageously equipped.
