Happyhoganon: Between Metal Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Jet and Silver, which rival of Sonic's do you see as THE greatest one?

I'm gonna have to say Metal Sonic. I just think that he is Sonic's best rival. I don't really see Silver as a real rival to sonic, and I think sonic and Knuckles have been friends for to long that I also can't really see them as rivals. For Jet their rivalry is very friendly nowadays. Most of their "fights" are races, and I do think Jet would get his ass beat if he did try to fight sonic

While I do like Shadow and Sonic's relationship, I just think Sonic and Metal's is the best rival relationship there is. With Shadow, both him and sonic are very similar. They are both headstrong, do things at their own pace, and want to help people. Their rivalry is mostly because they both believe that they can do better than the other, but are so similar to each other that they clash. I think that gives them a very interesting dynamic.... But I still do like Sonic and Metal more.

With Metal they clash because they are working to two different things. Sonic is trying to save the world, while Metal is working to kill Sonic. Metal does grow stronger, and is the only Eggman robot to do so because he is so dead set on killing Sonic, but because he is so set on killing sonic and Eggman programing him to not overthrow him, can can never reach his goal of killing Sonic.

Metal is so trapped by his goals and Eggman, he wont be able to reach his full potential, and he won't ever be free, like the real Sonic... And I think the fact that no matter how hard Metal works to his goal of killing Sonic, he will never fully make it because he isn't free like sonic. And in my opinion that makes him Sonic's best rival because he is what Sonic is against, being trapped.

Happyhoganon: What if, instead of being born hedgehogs, Sonic, Shadow, Silver and Amy Rose were hippopotamuses? How different would the Sonic Universe be if the Blue Blurring Hippo, the Ultimate Land Mammal, the Psychic Hippo Kid and the Pink Potamus were a things and still gone on the same adventures like in canon?

I think it would be hard to imagine a hippo being fast. Then yet again, regular hedgehogs aren’t inherently fast either. 😂

Happyhoganon AU Questions: Would both Superman & Supergirl step out of isolation to only fight major worldly and universal threats? Would the super powered meta cousins fight alongside other heroes to beat down or take out multiversal threats too?

I don't know... I was just sort of spitballing ideas. Sort of a waxing on the metaphysical boundaries of divine power and how a human mind would likely be unable to cope with it.

I suppose these two cousins could come out of exile where there to be a threat so dire that their inaction would spell certain doom to the universe... yet both could end up becoming a different threat equal to if not worse than the original threat.

If this idea intrigues you, I'd recommend checking out 'The Golden Man' which is a 1954 short story by American science fiction writer Philip K Dick. Another example of the unexpected downside to possessing godlike powers can be found in the way-fun 1956 science fiction movie Forbidden Planet.

Building on Happyhonagon's idea, let's make things real dark. What if Frieza had injured Piccolo, but killed Gohan? Would it make any difference for DBZ? Just imagine how it would've been for goku to see his son not only push him out of the way but watch the Death Beam kill him right in front of his very eyes.

Goku would turn Super Saiyan as per usual because his son just DIED. However, this situation will have a major impact on Gohan instead. It’s his choice to go to Namek, trying to revive the Zfighters, but in the end he just died in one blink of an eye. As Piccolo can’t save him this time, Gohan will think himself as too weak to handle himself, let alone ‘save’ others. His short death gave him some time to think.

After being revived and transported on Earth using Porunga’s last wish, Gohan would train a bit more harder than canon, possibly becoming less of a bookworm and more of a serious fighter as his ‘death’ kinda acts as a motivation/trauma. Gohan would be more enthusiastic to join the Cell Games and fight Cell too in the future. But dang, poor Gohan

but come on

In an alternate scenario where Wanda and Bruce are in a relationship and a child is born, I imagine the kid would have Wanda's eyes and hair and look like Martha Wayne (I'm tired of all of Bruce's children being exact copies of him)

Also, the child would be extremely powerful and this factor would create conflict, from villains threatening his safety to Bruce dealing with his child's powers, bc I can't see Batman handling a metahuman/mutant child well based on the canon

In terms of personality, I think them would be a kind and loving person and yet unfortunately traumatized, because no comic book character can have a trauma-free childhood apparently

Happyhoganon: If King Cold had been spared by Goku from death after killing off his son on Earth and injuring him, what would Cold's reactions be when the saiyan forced to leave rather than kill him right there and then? What happens if Goku prevented Vegeta from killing the tyrant by holding Vegeta's arm tightly even as the Saiyan Prince demanded he let him go?

i mean cold was just sort of "frieza, but bigger", so... hard to say? idk dude i honestly don't think about king cold that much
