Since I knew I’d be drawing a lot of characters for this one, I put the all on a wheel, spun it and let fate decide. The only character I chose myself was Haraka, since I wanted to draw her really badly lol. You can tell it’s my first time drawing her, and Selva too

In a scenario where Haraka and Dashi are dating, I ship them because captive cheetahs often need emotional support dogs for their anxiety --- Haraka definitely isn't a nervous coded character but we can just say she's medicated, and/or having a banging hot girlboss dog gf around helps her feel better 🥰 🐆🐕

One thing I really love about Octonauts Above and Beyond is the diversity of names

First, there are Octo-Agents

Paani's name means "water" in a few languages, befitting his occupation as a hydrologist

Selva's name means "jungle" in Spanish. Given that jungles have some of the highest diversity of plants of any biome, it's a perfect name for Selva.

Haraka's name means "quickly, or fast" in several languages such as Swahili, which makes sense since she is a cheetah.
