VALENTINE'S DAY MAY BE IRRITATING at the best of times (and, truthfully, this could hardly count as the best by a long shot), but at least the boxes of chocolates tended to be worth sampling. besides, it's bad form to say no when a sampler of the stuff ends up in his possession and makes its way home with him.

ivan calls it heading a tantrum off before it starts when he opens the heart-shaped box up and holds it out to his double. the action of offering what is ostensibly 'romantically symbolic' to something that shares his face, however, feels patently absurd. still...

"don't take them all," a warning, as though he could really stop it if it insisted on taking the whole thing anyway. "but try a few."

it doesn't really have the awareness to ask about the shape of the chocolate box. and even if, the treats themselves were far too distracting to really care. vanya immediatelly hovers closely over them, trying to decide which praline to try first. it can't decide what to base its decision on— the shape or the smell? albeit subtle, it can tell that each appears to have a different filling, some are even covered in different kinds of chocolate...

so, of course, the only obvious answer is to try all of them. it tries to do just that, using both its human hands as well what handful of shadowy tendrils it can call forth, only to be stopped mid-grab by ivan's stern words. it glares up at him through thick eyelashes, unmoving. like caught red-handed— quite literally.

“ why not? ” it whines, but settles on plucking out two at a time. tries— then makes a face when it bites into one filled with rum. the other, with hazelnut filling, is way tastier. “ are you going to give the rest of it to till? ”

@harerazor: 🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

tatsu was initially created as a blue lock antagonist! which means a little bllk babble ahead but i knew from the start that i wanted to create someone who kind of complemented rin itoshi partly because i love him KJDFKJDSNFSDF and also partly because my husband picked up rin as a muse in our own little disco server (we met online in the mass effect tumblr rpc 9??? insane years ago). between writing with him and sharing tatsu with everyone here, they’ve grown so much and i have so many good aus and i’m so thankful! 🥹

so a couple of traits i had decided right from the start included the intensity of their devotion to their loved ones (wherein i do not use the phrase "ride or die" loosely). rin who plays soccer with his life on the line and tatsu who was willing to die for him on the field. i also knew that tatsu would be someone who was very sensitive to people who protect themselves in armor but just want to be loved, who were truly kind beneath layers of a tough or cold exterior (tatsu has a LOT of beef with rin's older brother sae).

their backstory came to me very quickly from there because it felt like those feelings came from a place of seeing firsthand what it's like to be cast aside by the people you love / who are supposed to love you (between both their mother and themself), and therefore resolving to love as fiercely as possible to make up for it. tatsu trying to see the good in absolutely everyone 🥺 except they’ll turn on someone fast if that person is cruel to them or mean to one of their loved ones.

ANYWAY me just yapping about tatsu now but this all pretty much was decided on Right Away albeit maybe not as elaborate at the time KSHSKSBSKS

" zagreus laughs, but it's bitten - off, shallow. he turns his head further into altair's hand, seeking for their touch on his face. finds their palm, presses his cheek into it. the prince of the underworld does not need to breathe, but he does here, sighing relief as if it's made the hurt go away. " hard to say goodbye... nonetheless, i'm afraid. " zagreus does not pray to the olympians, not like this, but he does here: please, please, please, let me stay. let me have this for a bit longer. not yet. please. " i'll - see you tomorrow, then, if everything - hn - goes well? " / meme.

@harerazor — i won't be a broken record and talk about how close of pals me n reuben are, but i WILL say that their muse roster is literally just. straight BANGERS. (except none of them are str— *i am forcibly removed from the stage) like... god. idek where to start with reuben. the kindest and most patient rp partner (and person ooc, honestly) and such a ridiculously funny person too? amazing friend and INCREDIBLE WRITER. their oc altair is a league of his own. endlessly fascinating and complex and wild and such a fun catalyst for many many different types of dynamics??? right now i'm particularly gnawing on geto and altair just because they're so fucking Weird and i love chewing on them, but shoutout to our others as well. <3 AND THEIR CANONS!!!! MY GOD THEIR CANONS!!! i want to take their toji and shake him upside down for all of his coins. i want to rip him open and stitch him back up. iw ant to x-ray him. i want— <- this is all from both me and chiaki btw. i am super super super super excited to get into writing with their uraume on seph too, it's gonna be soooooooooo. @koseigu — beautiful like a punch to the face. beautiful like the crack of a whip. i don't know how to describe tsari's writing in a way that fully conveys what i love so much about it, but it's so snappy in a way that pleases my brain SO MUCH to read? it feels like every word has a right to be there, it's meaty and chewy, it's so deeply steeped in the character that even the action and description feels like it's coming from the muse's eyes. not to mention our shared taste in literary references. KJDFHJKDS i've been enthralled by their writing from day one and it has not stopped. i love the way our writing styles play off of each other, i love the plot ideas we come up with, i love reading their threads on the dash even when they're not mine, it's just all around so delicious.

@tewwor — writing with goose feels like coming home. that's the only way i can describe it. like there's such a comforting aura about her and her muses (maybe it's because we've been writing together for so long that we're basically like old roommates at this point.) literally just seeing her on the dash — not to mention connecting with and interacting with my other friends like the two above — genuinely fills me with warmth. soft. i cherish them so much and being active on tumblr rp without them would feel like being in an empty house >:'O
