Chloe Ing (Singapore): SP to Perfect cover. Elegant skating, pretty dress, and a very cute skater! Christopher Caluza (Philippines): FS to La Terre Vue Du Ciel. Beautifully done, and choreographed himself! (And I like the 2A3Lo!) Nina Povey (Great Britain): SP to True Colors cover. Lovely, with a mature presence on the ice. Harry Mattick (Great Britain): FS to Joker-themed mix. Lots of personality for a different kind of program and a double double axel.

Junhwan Cha (KOR) - omg omg OMG omg omg HE HaS IMPROVED SO MUCH WHAT THE HECK! And the triple lutz triple loop????? Omg?????? This program was amazing! Technically and artistically! What an amazing performance!!! Aaaaahhhhh

Harry Mattick (GBR) - not a big fan of the music, and the program was a little repetitive to me. There were some nice elements in there, but it didn't quite work for me. He gets some nice distance on his jumps even if he doesn't get lots of height.

Yuzuru Hanyu (JPN) - I don't even know what to say. That was beautiful. Ethereal. I love the character he portrays here. The Ina Bauer the hydro blade the layback spin. Johnny's pancake spin variation. Wow. Just wow. And good saves on those jumps. Lovely. God. The steps too! I'll be rewatching this many times. And the costume!!!! Dear lord have mercy. It shines. (I will choose to laugh about the fact that the spins caused him the most trouble lmao)

Chadwick (SGP) - a good skate. Couldn't be easy to skate after Yuzu. I really love the costume. He can at least revel in the fact that he had less spin problems than Yuzu lmao.

Samuel Mcallister (IRL) - playful short program. I feel like the music cuts could have been better, as it got slightly boring by the end, but the choreography was quite fun.

Conor Stakelum (IRL) - well, some nice spirals are always appreciated. Not the best Clair de lune I've seen, but it was pretty good regardless.

*ACI 2018 Men SP hot takes*

Kevin Aymoz: what, he did a counter 3A?? But does that count as clean though? Oh well, good attempt nonetheless

Kevin Reynolds: man, that StSq! So craic! *slapped as Gaeilge*... His jumps though 😕, I hope he won't UR so much in the coming comps 🙏

Jason Brown: HOT. DAMN! Never thought I gonna say that to a Jason program 😏, damn smooth. (Also, that's how you jump an Axel Jason, good job! 😄😏). Must really say that Jason-Rohene combo is a mighty one for the SP 😏😏

Julian Yee: he has better flow this time with his SP (maybe the weak flow in the Olys was because... Olys? *shrugs*) good job anyway, good job...

Diego Saldana: he does need to work on a lot of things but his. Flexibility. On. SPINS! An Adelina spin! (How come??) His Bielmann? BEST MEN'S BIELMANN (also the music — Westworld soundtrack? Hmmmm... and his costume is reminiscent of Adam Rippon's FS costume :)) )

Jun Hwan Cha: look at him go so smoothly! All jumps well executed, the choreo too (yep the StSq is good, I don't mind his clock hands, I DON'T MIND AT ALL, it's good, okay?? Not awkward or silly at all, also the music is just so good, he can definitely carry it as the season goes on.

Harry Mattick: whoa, a Take Five? I... can't say no to that 😅. The one with the smoother cut in the comp. Doesn't skate as smoothly as the music though — better skate in the next comp, boy~

The Time Lord of Sendai: I can only 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 as I watch his SP unfold (might as well rewrite his part into a separate post — also, I need to rewatch it to feel the program properly 😣). My heart was thumping so fast (good thing he's healthy!) Also, the flow, the flow! It was all smooth throughout the program, even when he has slight trouble with his last jump 🙀 — he's completely in command of his program, and you can see that. My only qualm is his spins (it's unusually slow? Yuzu please be alright 🙏🙏🙏) Also he has a decent costume hallelujah on that *slapped*. It does feel weird at first seeing him not cracking the 100 point mark but then again this is the first comp so (hopefully) it will only go upward afterwards 😄😄🙏🙏.

Samuel McAllister: ooh, another Take Five? Damn... I guess Take Five is my warhorse cryptonite, huh? (Can't say no to Take Five 😅). The choppier cut of the comp 🙀, but at least it is the more interesting one choreo-wise (also he only fell once so that's also an okay for me 😜) though now I kinda wish someone skates to Unsquare Dance 😅. Well done Sam! 😄

Connor Stakelum: the last skater of the session — skates clean enough, lyrical enough. True, there are better performances of Claire de Lune, but this one is good enough so yeah, good finish to the men's SP.

If he could get himself technically into the top ten or top eight male skaters then I could see him becoming quite popular like Deniss Vasiljevs.“
