Hedric in Skam headcanon
okay so i'm absolute trash for hedric dating in Harry's fourth year and today i had the realization that they would fit perfectly on the storyline of season 3 of Skam. so i decided to rewrite one of my favourite scenes from s3. and even if it is way longer than i expected i hope you enjoy it. (i also took a lot of inspiration from Skam France, bc is my favourite remake)
Harry can feel the warmth from Cedric's body as he pulls him closer with a soft grin that reaches his playful gray eyes, their legs intertwined closely as he rests his head against Harry's chest letting out a content sigh.
Harry can't help but smile, his entire body full of calm and serenity; he hasn't felt this way since the beginning of the year, maybe even before that. Between missing Sirius, his frightening dreams, the mystery of how he got in the tournament, some dragons and that bloody egg, he hasn't had any chance to breathe for a second or relax and just feel at ease. Until now. Until Cedric.
Just as he thought of that, Cedric moves his head again, this time to face Harry and just looks at him with intensity. Contrary to prior times, Harry feels happy to be under his gaze, also nervous, excited and a little anxious, but mostly happy. Cedric smiles before leaning in to kiss him with such softness that Harry feels himself melting under the other's touch. Everything he could ever ask for is in those lips. The movement is firm but careful, telling of the softness Centric has always granted him.
"Am I your first?" Cedric asks quietly, one of his hands still in Harry's hair, just caressing him slowly and sweetly.
Harry smiles before answering, "my first what?" He quivers only by thinking about it.
"Your first guy." The clarification is a little unnecessary, but Cedric does smile as he rubs his nose slightly against Harry's with a little giggle.
Harry doesn't have to think about it really, not that much. Yes, Cedric is his first, but not only his first guy; he's his first kiss, the first time he felt like his heart is going to explode by just a look, the first time he wondered what someone would taste like, the first time he had to blink twice to make sure someone's smile was real, the first time he didn't sleep thinking about someone's eyes.
It was the first time Harry felt he was just like everyone else, the same feelings that any other person could have. He didn't need to be the Choosen One to have a crush on someone, to like someone, to kiss someone. It was the first time he didn't have to worry about the wizarding world's destiny, he could just be a boy who liked another boy, for the first time. Cedric is his first everything.
Without really answering he smiles and presses his forehead against Cedric's, just enjoying the contact and looking straight into his comforting eyes.
"So I'll take that as a yes," Cedric laughs with delight. Obviously pleased by the confirmation that he is the first guy to ever see Harry like this, so relaxed and happy, like he isn't carrying the weight of the magic world in his shoulders.
Harry just moves his head again, seeking for the contact of Cedric's lips. There's something so comforting in the way he can just reach for him and find him right there, without any condition or without waiting for anything in return. Being there, beside him, and returning the kiss with no rush, like they have the entire time of the world to just lay there, and talk, and kiss.
"And you?" Harry asks now with curiosity.
Cedric doesn't answer. He locks eyes with Harry with a big smile and raises his eyebrows playfully before breaking in a delighted laugh that shakes his body between Harry's arms.
"Oh, I see" Harry laughs as well, and lets himself go with it when Cedric finds his lips once more and slides one hand across his back to bring him even closer. The embrace between them feels like the only place where Harry would ever want to be for the rest of his life.
Time doesn't seem to go by while they are in the Hufflepuff dorm rooms, hopping that Cedric's friends won't find any reason to go and disturb them. Or maybe the time is going by as usual, but Harry couldn't care less about it. Nothing seems to be as important as being in that bed at that exact moment. Who could worry about sirens in the black lake or a shiny cup when Cedric Diggory is leaving a gentle trace of kisses across his neck and chin?
"What did you think of me before we met?" Harry asks in a quiet tone. He can't help but wonder what Cedric used to think of him before everything. If he was mad when it turned out that Hogwarts had another champion, or if he noticed him in the three years before that. Maybe during that match last year, when the dementors showed up and Harry fainted. That time Cedric had asked for a re-match, did he notice Harry?
"Before we met..." Cedric repeats with an almost absent expression as he seems to recall something from his memory, "I saw you a lot of times before that." Harry frowns a little and Cedric laughs before continuing, "I saw you on the first day of my fourth year, when you were sorted into Gryffindor. You looked so small and nervous, like you weren't even sure that you should be under the sorting hat, and it was confusing to me, I grew up hearing stories about you and then seeing you there was— you were just a kid." He drags a finger across Harry's lips, lovingly. "Then in my fifth year I became a prefect and had a lot of responsibilities and my head on the quidditch team, but that's when people started to get petrified and Dumbledore asked us to be careful and take care of the younger students and everything was such a chaos. And in the middle of all that were the rumours about you being the heir of Slytherin and everyone was talking about how dangerous you were."
Harry feels his chest sinking a little after Cedric's words. He remembers the looks, the whispering, the conversations that suddenly stopped when he entered the room. Of course Cedric had to hear some of that, but Harry never stopped to think that he surely had heard a lot about him before they even talked. It's painful to think of.
"Hey," says Cedric pressing his forehead against Harry's, "I didn't believe it for a second." He looks into Harry's eyes with such honesty that he can't help but believe every single one of his words, "I just couldn't believe that someone with your eyes, or your heart could ever do something so evil. Not you," Harry is able to breath again and even smiles a little when Cedric presses a kiss on his forehead. "Then I saw you on your third year, great quidditch player, and then again in the World Cup. That might've been the first time I noticed how much you had grown and how handsome you had gotten," they both laugh as Harry shakes his head, feeling a known heat in his cheeks. "But none of that matters, because those weren't the first time I actually saw you."
Harry frowns again, confused. "Then, when was that?" he isn't sure at all of what that could mean, but the way Cedric smiles at him, so fully and charmingly melts his worries away.
"It was this year, before we were selected champions, even before the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students got here." Harry is surprised by the explanation, he had noticed Cedric in the World Cup, when they found each other in the woods, but he hadn't paid much attention before everything about the Triwizard Tournament happened, "you were just getting out of your first class with professor Moody, where he talked about the unforgivable curses and everyone seemed a little shaken. You were with your friends and you didn't saw me but I saw you," he lets out a small smile, "actually, you were all I saw."
Harry tries to remember seeing him in the corridor that day but fails, he was so disgusted and harrowed by what happened in class that he barely remembers what happened after.
"What do you think would've happened if I hadn't been selected champion?" he asks, now a little anxious about it. If none of it had happened—
"Well, you'd probably be a lot less stressed, Potter," Cedric jokes with a childish smile and moves slightly to lay on his back while Harry places his head over the older's chest, faintly hearing his heart beat.
"I'm serious," he hardly manages to muffler a laugh, "maybe we would have never met, never talked."
Cedric stays silent for a couple seconds, almost as if he's measuring his words, "I'll admit is a little scary to think about."
"Well— it happened in the end."
Harry tries to clear his head from those thoughts as one of Cedric's hands takes place behind his neck and starts moving in small and firm caresses.
"You know," Cedric says in a low voice, almost a whisper, "when I have a decision to make I always picture two paths. I end up choosing one because I have to decide at some point, but I'll never now what I missed by not taking the other." He lets out a long sigh, "it drives me insane."
Harry doesn't really know how to answer to Cedric's words, how he is opening up to him with such honesty. He hasn't ever really thought about his life like that, it has always felt like he doesn't have a choice, in his life everything happens and happens and keeps happening and he just has to deal with it, no questions, and certainly no alternative path.
"Do you feel like you took the right decision now?" he dares to ask, looking up at Cedric's face, so pensive and full of reflection before he breaks in a sweet smile.
"Of course I do."
Warmth expands on Harry's chest as Cedric places little kisses on the tip of his nose and tightens his arms around him with affection.
Then he suddenly feels like opening up to Cedric as well, "I like to think that this is not the only universe that exists, that there are infinite ones in which I exist, but in different ways and everything that could possibly happen not only will happen but is already happening. That way, if we add all the Harrys in all universes together, I've done it all."
Cedric looks at him with a fond smile, taking his words in. "So there's an american Harry right now surfing a huge wave in Bali?" he jokes with a grin.
"Of course there is," Harry laughs loudly before going back to looking at Cedric's gray eyes, full of light and happiness, "haven't you ever thought about it?"
"I don't think I believe in it, to be honest." He looks at the ceiling again, with his hand going through Harry's hair, dark and overgrown.
"Well, you're wrong," Harry says with a smile, and Cedric looks back at him with curiosity, "because right now there are infinite Cedrics and Harrys who are together, in this same position, but we're both in Hufflepuff, or I'm a Slytherin," he suggests, remembering the night he was sorted. " Or we're not even wizards."
"And we don't have to worry about dragons and eggs."
They both laugh loosely, with their voices echoing against the walls in the empty dorm room, the yellow curtains let the sun shine through them in a cheerful way that goes perfectly with the rest of the yellow decorations in the bedroom.
"What time is it?" Cedric asks in a whisper with his lips pressed against Harry's hair.
"Half past ten," Harry answers after checking the watch he had left in Cedric's night table, "why?"
"Fuck," Cedric sighs as he rests his head against the pillow with his eyes closed and with multiple stress lines appearing around his eyes and mouth. "I was supposed to meet Cho in the quidditch pitch an hour ago."
Harry feels his words sinking in him heavily. Cho. Cedric's girlfriend, the girl he should be sharing a bed with instead of him. Her name it's like a sour reminder that they're in borrowed time, and it's running out.
"She must be waiting for you."
Cedric immediately notices the change in Harry's voice and presses himself against his body with intensity, trying to reassure him; leaving soft kisses on his forehead in what feels like an apology.
"You know what?" Cedric says, with his hand in Harry's chin, leaving him no other option but to look him in the eye, "the Cedric from the universe number 6257 can go and talk to her." He smiles widely, "I'm staying right here."
"Well, the Harry from this universe is very happy about that." Cedric leans in to kiss him and Harry feels like he's too weak to reject the gesture. He lets himself stay a couple seconds like that before talking again, "are things still complicated? With her?"
Cedric lets out another long sigh before nodding briefly. "Can I—" he hugs Harry once again, "can I just stay like this with you forever?"
Harry answers before reaching for his lips again.
"Yes, please."
