Africans are valid for saying what they're saying and AAs need to listen.
I feel like everyone is speaking from a place of trauma and hurt. Yes, African Americans have done a number on black non-African Americans which needs to be acknowledged by AA. You don't get to collectively cause trauma then ignore us.
People should be able to speak from a place of trauma and hurt and be listened to rather than silenced. Yes, it's uncomfortable but you need to do it.
The amount of times African Americans have made fun of Carribean culture only to accept it recently while prior to this acceptance they were making fun of Carribean culture.
African Americans still make fun of Hatians and other non African American groups. There is a lot of growing that needs to happen as well as a continuous conversation that acknowledges why AA has done what they've done and why they're changing their behavior somewhat.
