I read a post where if I say I dislike a *character*, I am being a negative angry person unless I accept it might just be my fault?
Um... no. Because, see, what you're actually saying is that if you like that character and I don't, you're right and I am wrong, and the fact is, we're BOTH ALLOWED TO FEEL THE WAY WE DO ...
The way I emotionally react to how a character on a TV show, movie, book, or work of art-- yes, that is **MY** opinion. And I have the right to pull up reason after reason as to why I feel that way.
And if I make it clear by TAGGING my posts, you can easily avoid them and not feel hurt.
Case in point... I happen to really really HATE Cyclops from the X-Men; from the first day I read the comic I found him a sexist, snotty, officious prig. I also know some folks who LOVE the character. And I am allowed to say I hate him, and because we're adults, the friends I have who LIKE him will just IGNORE the posts where I rip a hole in Scott and not try to tell me I should not be mean and angry.
I have better things to argue with friends about... racism, bigotry, financial inequality in pay, political stupidity that harms many, the lack of affordable health care... but if I want to say a character SUCKS, trust me, I'm going to do it.
