Sotr should've been about Haymitch's mentoring, not his games, and I stand by that. Sure it could've been an aspect, maybe as the first act, but the book should've mainly been about his mentoring. About how the victor's got treated, about Haymitch's punishment, about life outside the games, how Haymitch dealt with it, and about the literal horrors of the mentor role.

Sure it would be a very grim book, but i feel like it would hold so much more weight.

Every time my dad and I have a conversation about the hunger games, I spend more time fixing his incorrect pronunciation of peeta, haymitch, and other terms than I do actually talking about the books/movies.

05. Haymitch loved Katniss and Peeta like his own children, and the happiest he ever felt was when they told him they wanted him to be godfather to their little baby girl. He kicked his drinking habit and started living his life like he should have been since he'd won the Hunger Games, safe in the knowledge his godchild would never have to suffer the way the residents of Panem had done before the second rebellion.
