The future of the Hunger Games doesn’t have all the concepts that we do now. Hell, until the prequels, it seemed like they had completely forgotten religion. So in Panem, rather than use modern terminology like transgender or non-binary, I like to think people in the districts would just say someone “is only a boy/girl for the Reaping”.

🙃 — A weird little habit they have

For my girl Silk pretty please <3

Chronic interrupter. It's not coming from a place of disrespect but the girl never quite figured out the social cues of when to talk so she interrupts, especially those she loves, constantly. With people she doesn't know, especially now that so many have lowkey bullied her about it, she tends to be too quiet for a while just bc she doesn't want to be 'that girl.'

Hair-twirling. She and Gloss are canonically curly-haired (well, he's got noticeable waves, she's got the curl-curls) and she loves to twirl her hair. It's not even a nervous thing, it just is nice. In that week that she was in the Capitol, her Prep Team couldn't stand it. It ruins certain curls over time which then meant they had to redo and they also just hated the 'look' of it. Sponsors loved it, however, bc they could more easily run with the ditzy blonde caricature.

Being late. She's lucky not many things in her life actually required her to be on time but if there is a set time, she will be late. The only time she isn't is if Cashmere can set a schedule for her before but that's not always guaranteed.

Here is a Moodboard and some of my personal headcanons for the middle Mellark brother (whom I headcanon is named Wilhelm)

-He was born 3 years into his parents marriage, and a year before Peeta

-Wilhelm was the brother on the wrestling team along with Peeta

-He was by far the most rambunctious of his siblings (which frequently got him into trouble)

-He definitely called out his mother’s hypocrisy and sanctimoniousness on more than one occasion. Particularly how she looks down on Seam folk but acts no better than she believes they do. This obviously got him beaten, but he thought he was worth it, if only to see the look on her face

-The reason he joined the wrestling team is because it allowed him a release of energy he couldn’t get anywhere else

-The other boys on the wrestling team called him ‘Willy’. His brothers occasionally used this nickname as well, in the few close/bonding moments they had growing up.

-Wilhelm frequented the slag heap (unlike his brothers) which he was able to charm his way into time and time again. The girls in 12 definitely liked him.

-His name mens ‘resolute protector, and his older brother’s means ‘defender/protector of men. This is ironic, because neither of them ever protected Peeta. The reason they weren’t particularly inclined to do this is because Mrs Mellark often pitted the brothers against each other and created a very ‘every man for himself’ type environment growing up. Because of this they were never able to be very close growing up

Random THG headcanon:

Peeta didn't start sleeping with the window open until after the 74th Games. The stale air in the arena made him feel trapped. He needed to feel the fresh air so he could remember he was home.

And pancakes

I've gotta believe popcorn's a pretty big thing but, then again, Idk how it's made so maybe they only get like creamed corn if ever they get to keep the corn from a harvest?

And pancakes absolutely exist but I think they'd be rather depressing Tesserae-batter pucks of barely-nutrition, not a nice fluffy iHop flapjack, ya know? lol

I like to think that the Victor’s Villages of the most urbanized districts were built on what had previously been common greenspace. It’s an answer for how to put spacious, suburban houses close to places that otherwise don’t have a blade of grass (as Katniss says), and it’s another way to humiliate the districts.

The park where you used to relax, maybe even forage, now belongs to the Capitol. You cannot go there. They’ve walled it off and filled it with twelve identical houses. Your district will only ever produce enough victors to fill three of them.

I think she would but she'd 'refer' you to Enobaria bc that's the girl who knows and loves to do nails. And Johanna will begrudgingly join even tho she's lowkey defensively afraid of Enobaria. But the urge to do nails would be too strong, lol
