These are the FIRST TWO sentences of the new Alabama Abortion Bill (HB314).

Democrats have interpreted and heavily promoted this as "Women will be forced to suffer and die from serious pregnancy related health issues" and "Women who endure a miscarriage or abortion will be charged as felons".

My question, are Democrats seriously as incoherent enough to believe what they are saying and promoting (in direct opposition to the actual legislation) OR are they blatantly spreading lies to their own constituents assuming that they will never read the bill?

Terri Collins (@repterricollins) for an #abortion story for The @washingtonpost by @emily_wax and @bychipbrownlee. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Collins sponsored #HB314, which bans abortions in all cases except the health of the mother (under certain conditions). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I arrived 15 minutes late but Collins welcomed me into her home to the Bible study group already in progress. At one point the discussion paused in order to watch a short clip of a video series about the Bible and historic religious sites. In the clip, (surely a very small part of a much longer video and probably even a much longer series), Elijah was referenced two or three times. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Later, as she was about to wrap up, one of the people gathered in her living room said “I just want to point out that there 12 people at this Bible study, and Elijah,” at which point I raised my arms as everyone clapped. All in all it was a fascinating and interesting experience and I feel fortunate to have a job that allows me to have such varied experiences outside those I would normally have in the course of my own life. Ward describes himself as a conservative Republican, but acknowledges that in deep red #Alabama he’s considered a moderate. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ward is one of only four Republicans who joined seven Senate Democrats in voting for the Democratic-introduced amendment that would have allowed exceptions for rape and incest to be added to #HB314, Alabama’s near total #abortion ban bill.
