I wish the BBC show kept the Gallivespians going with Lyra and Will to the Land of the Dead. It’s a small change but I personally really enjoyed them being there in the books. There’s a moment where a few of the dead reached out for the Gallivespian’s dragonflies(another thing I wish the show kept) because they missed their dæmons and it was heartbreaking to read.

The Gallivespians also felt the same feeling that Lyra and Will felt, so it can be assumed that they also have dæmons that were ripped from them. I’m so curious how dæmons work for people that small, considering even insects are incredibly large to them. What forms would they take? Would they take an animal form at all?

It was a big missed opportunity for the show and I would’ve loved to see it in a live action format.

guys I cannot believe how good the HBO/BBC adaptation of His Dark Materials is. I can’t believe it.

the second season especially is everything I could’ve possibly wanted from an adaptation of The Subtle Knife, it’s all I’ve dreamed of since I read the trilogy for the first time in…god, fifth and sixth grade. (yes I was too young to fully understand it then, but wow was it still formative lmao)

I can’t believe it. they really pulled it off. the madmen. I can’t wait to see how they design the amber spyglass and the mulefa and the intention craft and BALTHAMOS AND BARUCH oh my godddddd season 3 can’t come fast enough!!!!
