I know I've said this before but it's crazy that George was the one who navigated the John/Paul diss track situation most effectively. John simply did not understand that he is not Paul and people do not see him the way they see Paul and he doesn't write music in the way that Paul writes music and if he responds to Paul's diss it will simply not be received the way that TMP was received. Ringo understood that and he made himself scarce, which puts him a step above John. But George did one better because he found a way to involve himself that gave him all the catharsis of firing back at Paul without any of the consequences, because no one but Paul would notice or care. And it shocks me because it's so clever and sly and effective and truly the only example I can think of -- ever -- of George showing any adeptness whatsoever with the media.
