Same lmao - like ill watch the video of John, George and Klaus making HDYS and im like “omg i hate you all so much why do i even bother with you stupid fucks—” but then ill see other photos and interviews and im like “my loves!! you didn’t mean to hurt anyone, you were just confused and traumatised and there was so much pressure—😭”

I love them sm but they were the worst and i hate them and i think we can all relate to that sentiment here :)

why are people in beatles fandom just generally so against having fun

into the HDYS v RAM discourse again. 

One thing to consider: John and George both released songs of RAM-level “meanness” and plausible deniability. “Crippled Inside,” “I Found Out,” “Wah-Wah,” “Dark Horse” ....I could go on. 

Know why they’re rarely brought up? Because they are normal breakup songs. They are not even CLOSE to being anywhere near the level of HDYS, and the comparison would be manifestly ridiculous. 

The only reason the comparison gets trotted out specially for RAM is because some people really really want to justify HDYS. If not for HDYS, the digs on RAM would barely warrant a mention beyond “yup, normal pissy breakup songs.”
