How about some Soldat!Bucky? Like maybe she says his activation words just for shits and giggles and it goes awry?
(Sorry if this is no good, my first time doing headcanons hahaha)
You and Bucky are on a rough mission, needless to say it is not going well. You are badly injured and the two of you are vastly outnumbered, there’s no way the two of you are getting out of this alive
Bucky makes you say his activation words, the only way for the two of you to survive is with Soldat!Bucky on your side. He’s ruthless, fearless, doesn’t feel pain and cannot be stopped.
You reluctantly do it, you love Bucky and it pains you that he has to do something he hates, relieve the past him that he wishes didn’t exist, but if you don’t do it then no form of him will exist.
You say the words and notice the exact instant he’s no longer himself, it’s like a flipped switch, his eyes are what get you. How can somebody’s eyes change so much?
He fights his way through all the Hydra agents, never slowing, never wavering. Taking hits and bullets but not stopping until the last agent is dead.
That leaves you, you and Soldat!Bucky. Not your teammate, not your friend, a killer. A killer who has now turned and noticed you.
He advances towards you, sweat on his brow and blood dripping down his face, his cold eyes tracking your every movement.
But there’s nowhere for you to run, you are trapped with himYou try to show him that you’re no threat, hoping he won’t kill you, maybe buying you enough time for the rest of your team to find you.
For Steve to find you, he’ll know what to do, how to get your Bucky backHe eventually makes it to your prone form, his metal hand stretching towards you, towards your head, your throat.
He’s going to choke you, your death will be another on his long list of regrets, it hurts knowing you are going to be the cause of an even guiltier conscience.
You shut your eyes, not wanting the last thing you see to be your friend, the man you love’s emotionless eyes boring into yours.
But the inevitable pain never comes, no metal weapon closing around your throat, constricting your ability to breathe. Instead his cool fingers gently stroke your cheek, wiping away a tears you didn’t know had fallen.
You slowly open your eyes and look towards him, a part of you hoping he’s somehow back to himself. But you are let down, his eyes seem to have some emotion in them, but it’s not something you recognise, he is not someone you recognise
He says something back to you, in a language you do not understand, in a tone you find yourself fearing.
You try to look away from this stranger but his hand moves from your cheek and wraps itself in your hair, pulling your head back to make eye contact again.
Eye contact he breaks to gaze at the long expanse of your throat on display for him, to look at your heaving chest and the blush that is now threatening to overtake your body.
He growls at something, you don’t understand what.
Not until he tears at your tactical gear, ripping your top from your body to take in your bared chest. He throws the offending clothing over his shoulder and places his flesh hand onto your ribcage, teasing at the bottom of your breast.
A squeak escapes your parted lips and his eyes snap back to yours.
You recognise that look now.
