I don't think the TFP writers understood and took advantage the potential that Giant Truck Man Optimus has. Like. Just imagine:
His horn accidentally going off when he gets jumpscared, or when he's sleeping (kinda like snoring), or when someone says something unexpectedly funny to him
Him slipping and falling somewhere in the base and it causing a level 7 earthquake (don't worry, he's ok)
The kids doing something on the ground that needs his attention so Optimus has to completely lie down so he can properly participate. Everyone else has to walk around or jump over him because he's taking up like half the floor space in the main part of the base at this point. He asks if he should move, but they all insist that he just stay like that
Optimus making that hissing noise that trucks make when he relaxes his body
Steam or whatever coming out of those pipes on his back whenever he does a big exhale or laughs
The kids giving him a car wash when he's in truck form :D
Him having to whisper whenever his face is a certain distance from the kids or any of the other humans because his voice is really loud (the other bots do this too, especially the bigger ones like bulk, but Optimus does it the most)
Idk man I just wish we got more unserious moments with Optimus :')

Cannon in my heart. One of my very few grievances with TFP is they ignore what a dork Optimus is. (Except when he was cramped into Wheeljack's ship. That was great 😆)
Like Optimus is such a softie. He would totally do all of this!
Also the other day I found this video of Optimus purring in his sleep and it's 100% cannon.
