a potentially controversial harvey headcanon

i’ve seen a few headcanons that he’s a worried mess when you get sick. i think that’s true for injuries, but illness? not so sure.

as your spouse, i don’t think he gets anxious or worried when you’re sick. he’ll take care of you better than you’d ever imagined possible, but it comes from a place of love rather than worry. because he’s a doctor, he can tell very easily the severity of your illness. things like a seasonal flu are a piece of cake for him to deal with, and he secretly likes nursing you back to health with some homemade soup and prescribing bedrest so he can watch movies all day with you. he’ll only get annoyed with you if you try insisting on watering a few crops or feeding the animals— he can take care of that for you. but otherwise, as long as it isn’t a serious condition, he takes this time to prove how much he cares for you.

Shane having a crush on the farmer headcanons?

They turned into headcanons about HOW Shane started to grow a crush on the farmer... Please enjoy!!

Shane started seeing the farmer almost every Friday in the Saloon which was standard because everyone was there anyway

He started seeing the farmer walk in on weekdays late at night, covered in dirt and scrapes

Shane grew very curious as the farmer continued to trudge in night after night covered in grime unless it was a Friday night and they walked in with their best casual clothes

One Thursday night he finally catches the farmer as they stand at the bar, ordering from Gus

Lifting his beer to his lips, Shane mutters a question to the farmer; asking where they were coming from so late at night.

He finds out the farmer was coming from the mines, making Shane’s eyebrows raise in surprise. He couldn’t believe the farmer would have the guts to go anywhere near there.

Curiosity gets the best over Shane, suddenly knowing a different side of the farmer that most of the people in the town didn’t know.

He begins to occasionally sit with the farmer on weekday nights at the saloon to listen to their stories about their encounters in the mines. 

As the farmer progresses further into the mines, they start coming back to the saloon with worse injuries and Shane begins to worry for them-

Shane starts to get embarrassed because he isn’t used to caring for anybody other than Jas

The farmer is late to the saloon one night and Shane is sitting at the bar with a concerned look on his face, only for Gus and Willy to poke fun at him for liking the farmer. 

His face grows red, knowing they might be right.

could you do headcanons for harvey who’s dating someone in their early 20’s and likes anime and games? like just how he’d react to like finding out his partner has 10 anime plushies and life size aot swords and things like that lmao? i just think it’s funny that harvey is the one i fell for in stardew even tho we’re so very very different

Harvey knows nothing about anime, but you know who does? Sebastian. When Sebastian comes in for his check-up, Harvey sheepishly asks about it so he can add more to the conversation next time you talk about it. He even asks for some recommendations so he can watch on his own and get an idea of what it's like

When he walks into your bedroom for the first time and sees all your memorabilia, he's a little taken aback at first by the sheer amount of stuff you have, but he proudly recognizes one or two of the plushies from his own research and uses the rest to ask about your hobbies. He loves hearing you talk about it, so once you're done talking about one character, he points to another and goes "and what about them?" He smiles so big when you start up again-- he loves the passion and energy in your voice.

"You should start a Twitch stream" is something he says at least once whenever he watches you play video games, even if you suck at it

He asks a lot of questions whenever you watch anime together. He's trying so hard to "get it"

He likes the music from the games you play. He often plays it softly in his office when he's overwhelmed with work and misses you

He always gets you anime merch as little gifts. He fully expects a history lesson about it the second you open it

The Bachelors When...

Baking With the Farmer

Harvey - He is a homebody, and after living so many years alone, he has picked up quite a few skills in solitude such as baking. He has a small recipe card collection from his grandma, and is always slipping in outlandish ingredients for flavor that he promises will taste amazing if you just trust him. He is always very precise about his measurements, but also has a small playful side to him- and he loves to hum while he stirs and looks forward to licking the spoon afterward.

Shane - his hands are a little clumsy while moving bags of flour and sugar around, and his elbows accidently knock something over more often than not, but he is trying his best. Every time he accidently puts a little too much of one thing in, he chuckles sheepishly and looks towards the farmer in confirmation that its okay, but his smile never fades. He loves spending time with the farmer, and when they offer him help his shoulders always relax and his concerned knitted eyebrows melt away. 

Alex - He claims to know what he is doing but he doesn’t, having watched his grandma bake a thousand times but never actually paying attention. Whenever he is doubtful of how he is doing, he asks the farmer to try the batter and help him to fix it. His confidence fluctuates, but as soon as it starts to fall he takes the farmer into his arms and distracts them from the task on hand and makes them laugh.

Sam - He is always sticking his finger in the bowl of batter to taste-test it, even if it is just an empty bowl of nothing but flour. He has to taste it, just out of curiosity and to annoy/make the farmer laugh. He over adds ingredients almost every time, and every time he does it he sheepishly smiles and assures the farmer it’s fine, trudging through the process.

Elliott - his long hair is pulled back into a pony tail, but by the end of the process there are strands falling into his eyes and he looks much more frazzled than he should be. He follows the recipe the best he can but slips up occasionally, tutting each time in slight disappointment. Though when the bakes goods come out of the oven, he can’t help but smile proudly at the farmer at their achievement since he has very little baking experience.

Sebastian - he has a secret love for baking, having been in the kitchen with his mom since he was a toddler. He is very quiet during the whole process, but the farmer can see that he is fully relaxed, working steadily and upholding conversation with them well. The only time he panics is when he forgets about the timer and almost burns whatever you two are baking together, but as soon as he saves the baked goods, his smile returns and he starts chuckling at his own stupidity.

The Bachelors When...

they realize they are in love

Harvey - He is going over some files in the clinic when he realizes the new farmer in town has never come in for a checkup. He starts looking through all his file cabinets to see if he had any of their medical records, beginning to worry profusely if they are taking care of themselves properly. When Maru walks in to ask if everything is alright, him looking up at her red across the face, he realizes why he is jumping to such worrisome conclusions.

Sebastian - he is working on his computer, unable to focus. He is growing frustrated, leaning back in his computer chair when he suddenly hears footsteps over head, the farmer's voice greeting his mother. Listening to them talk, he realizes why he can't think straight.

Elliott - he is talking with Willy while he fishes about his new novel when Willy suddenly mentions the farmer being full of creative ideas and that they can probably help him. When Willy says their name, Elliott's heart flutters, wanting to ask Willy to tell him more about the farmer. Stopping his impulse, he realizes why he is suddenly so curious.

Shane - he rolls out of bed as soon as his alarm goes off in morning for the first time since he moved to Pelican town and showers to get ready for work. He looks at himself in the mirror as he pulls on his jacket, and upon making eye contact with his reflection, he realizes what he is doing.

Alex - he has been becoming more concerned with his appearance since the farmer arrived but its when he is patiently waiting outside his house for the farmer to walk by, he rejects Haley's offer to hang out and looks towards the direction the farmer normally approaches him from, realizing what he is doing.

Sam - he has been hitting a writers block with his songs, unable to drain his head from cheesy lyrics and stop his fingers from playing soft notes no matter how hard he tries. Sebastian jokes by saying "what? Can't stop thinking about the farmer?" But in that moment Sam realizes he is right.

Hello!! I love your writing (it never fails to make me smile if I'm having a rough time), and I was wondering, how do you think each of the bachelors would react to the farmer saying 'I love you' to them for the first time?

Elliott pauses, his current train of thought completely crashed and the only thought to survive being that of the farmer. The corners of his lip twitch and he breaks into a gentle smile, taking the farmer’s hand. “I love you too,” he says quiet enough for only them to hear, leaning his face closer to their ear, his eyes fluttering closed as he tries to regain his thought process.

Sam feels his chest explode as soon as the words leave the farmer’s mouth. He opens his arms wide and he picks up the farmer with the largest grin on his face, spinning them around before taking a moment to himself to punch the air in victory. When he grounds himself moments later he rushes back to the farmer, his hands seeming to tremble. “I love you too,” he chuckles, setting a kiss on their forehead.

Alex takes in a deep breath, taken back for a moment. As he exhales and lets out a soft chuckle, a smile forming across his face. “I love you too,” he says confidently back, taking the farmer’s hand and pulling them closer so he can plant a kiss in their forehead, his heart slamming against his chest rapidly.

Shane freezes, his fingers suddenly feeling numb. He can’t believe it for a moment but he reaches out to take the farmer’s hand in his, ensuring him that it is all real. He doesn’t know what to say or how to react, so he squeezes the farmer’s hand and fights out the words “I love you too” through him holding back a rush of confused emotions.

Harvey’s eyes open wide for a moment in shock before he melts back into his own skin, a soft smile across his face. “I- I love you too,” he admits, finding the farmer’s words soothing to his nerves.

Sebastian’s facial features perk up, a smile lighting up across his face. First, he asks if the farmer really means it before hugging them, burying his face in the crook of their neck to savor the moment. “I love you too,” he admits, his smile unable to be hidden.

Bachelors trying to confess or hint at their feelings for a painfully oblivious farmer who just isn’t catching on and each attempt flies right over their head?

I could have done an entire fic for all of them, this request was so much fun! I hope you enjoy the overviews- I really enjoyed making them!

Sebastian - Will continually push out of his comfort zone to invite the farmer places and compliment them. But every single time he invites them to hang out, the farmer asks if Sam and Abigail are going to be there too, looking so excited that Sebastian has to say they are in fear the farmer won’t hang out with him alone. 

Harvey - Will worry over the farmer’s blisters on their hands and wounds from the mines to the point he visits them at home to make sure they are alright. He has even given the farmer his phone number as an emergency contact if something ever happens. The farmer believes he does this with all his patients, even when he texts her to ask them how they are feeling, they brush off his concern as him doing his job.

Shane - Has shaved his face and tried to look cleaner before going to the saloon, and even buys the farmer a drink on most nights. He offers to help them with their farm as an excuse to be with them more often, refusing to be paid for his time. He even sends gifts in the mail to the farmer in hopes they realize he is interested in them, but the farmer just thinks Shane is trying to turn his life around and repay them for saving his life. Shane, desperate, even asks Jas to go up to the farmer and ask what they think of her uncle. He got a simple "your uncle is a great guy, honey!" and wanted to scream.

Elliott - writes the farmer poetry in the mail and tries to show his more manly side by offering to help on the farm, hoping it will appeal to them. He invites the farmer often to sit with him at the saloon and come down to the beach to talk about their youth and dreams, but the farmer takes it as Elliott just being poetic and deep instead of him having genuine interest in them.

Sam - will always try and make the farmer laugh whenever he gets the chance and will try to impress them with his music and skateboarding skills. Will arrange his life around their schedule and try to invite them to his band practices- even while he performs in a show he sings directly to them. The farmer just thinks he is funny and that is he trying to prove he is an edgy rockstar, nothing more. He must be like this with all the girls.

Alex - "Oh, am I shirtless right now? Its hot out and I love to work out so…" is his entire personality while trying to impress the farmer. He spends all of his time outside in hopes the farmer will see him working out and looking cool. He starts visiting the saloon just to talk to them, and even opens up about his childhood to them. Other than trying to impress them with his looks, he is always complimenting the farmer about the smallest things. Yet the farmer just thinks he is trying to impress Haley by working out outside and that he is a natural flirt with everyone in town.
