1st Year Student: The headmaster...? Uh... He's kind of a dork.
3rd Year Student: I see him walk around the school sometimes. Er, well, until he trips over himself, that is...
4th Year Student: I've been at this school all year round and I will say that if it wasn't for Deputy Headmaster Ren, who knows how bad things could get?
2nd Year Student: I like him! Sure, he's a bit goofy, but he's a good person, too, right? And it's not like you make it to Headmaster of New Beacon Academy by being an idiot, right? And honestly, when he smiles, you can't help but smile, too, right~?
Jaune: Not to worry, students! Your good ol' goofy headmaster will take care of this~!
Jaune: ...is what I would say if you didn't make me so angry I can barely see straight by threatening their lives like this. So instead, I'll just give them my word that everything is going to be okay. Why?
Jaune: Funny, because I was gonna ask you the same thing. Or, well, something like that. Why do you want to be Headmaster of New Beacon?
Jaune: ...Answer mine first.
Jaune: It's the same question, isn't it? Like, why are we here? Why did Ozpin set this up before he died? Like, is there a question he wants us to ask? And what would be that question?
Jaune: ...What it means to be the Headmaster of New Beacon?
Jaune: ...And? What does it mean?
Jaune: I think... I think it means to be the one responsible for the Kingdom of Vale, the light of hope for the people of not just our kingdom, but all others, and as a monument to all that humanity can accomplish even when destroyed once before.
Jaune: You'll be in charge of not just huntsmen and huntresses, but the future ones, too. Everyone will be looking to you because you'll be the strongest and most influential huntsman in the five kingdoms... or one of them, at least. What are you going to do with that kind of power?
Jaune: The same thing I was doing before; keeping innocents safe from the evil of both the Grimm and those who would harm humanity.
Jaune: That's bullshit, Jaune Arc, and you know it. You want to be the headmaster, not the next Ozpin. Tell us what you REALLY want. What's your REAL power?
Jaune: ...I can end life in Vale, and the other kingdoms. What the Grimm could do to Beacon before pales to what I could do to everything else.
Jaune: Snrk! Alright, edgelord, let's try again. What do you want?
Jaune: ...It doesn't matter what I want. What matters is what the people of Vale want, and they want me to prepare the future by acting in the now.
Jaune: Yeah... That's better.
Jaune: The Black Hunt. The end of Salem is not the end of the Grimm. Until humanity is truly safe from the monsters that threaten it, from the traitors who would lead us into the den of monsters, we will continue to carry the burden of our past sins. (Inhales, Exhales) My greatest power is to bring all of humanity together, whether human, Faunus, or otherwise, as unite us together for the common cause. I can't do this alone, but I never did anything alone. That's what we need; teamwork, unity, a common goal. We'll eradicate the Grimm, and should the traitors seek redemption, it will be offered with one hand open while the other is closed around the grip of our weapons.
Jaune: So, what will you do as Headmaster of New Beacon?
Jaune: End the Grimm threat. Forever.
Jaune: End the Grimm threat? Is that even possible?
Jaune: I have to believe it is. If I don't, then the only other option is the annihilation of Vale, of Remnant. Beacon was destroyed and a New Beacon was built in its place. We will stumble. We will fall. But this academy is a testament to the indomitable spirit of humanity, and we will always rise again.
Jaune: (Blinks, Other Jaune gone)
Ren: (Nods, Applauds) Congratulations, Jaune Arc, Headmaster of New Beacon, General of the Kingdom of Vale. (All join) And now, Headmaster, what would you have us do as the staff of New Beacon?
Jaune: ...Could I have some time to think? I'll have an answer by tomorrow.
Ruby: And that's why we're here. To make things better.
Students/Facutly: (Applaud)
Jaune: (Takes the stage) Thank you, Miss Rose, and thank you to the graduating class of Beacon for helping her make everything better. Now, when I call you name...
Ruby: (Steps off stage, Walks to her seat, Watching Jaune, Blinks)
Jaune:
Ruby: ...
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM~!
Jaune: For the love of-
Ren: All students please report to your leading instructor. All professors and doctors deliver a muster to me before releasing any students.
Jaune: That includes you, Professor Port! (Turns) Ruby- (Rose petals flutter) Ah... Right...
Nora: LAAAAAAAAAAAME~! I was hoping to test out my new baby~!
Blake: Do you mean your weapon, or your actual baby?
Nora: (Pats heavy pregnant belly) I think they're both up for it~.
Jaune: Alright, alright, that's enough excitement for today. We've got a graduation ceremony to finish up.
Ren: If you don't mind, Headmaster, but I don't believe we'll be needing you for the delivery. They all need to speak with you before leaving anyhow.
Yang: Oooh~! Kicked out by the deputy headmaster~!
Nora: Jaune's still getting schooled~! Oooh~!
Blake: Sick burn.
Jaune: C'mon, guys...
Ren: I think you still need to look around and make sure nothing was damaged, Headmaster. After all, it wouldn't look good for us if Beacon didn't look her best.
Nora: C'mon, girls~! Mama's itchin' to whip these kids into shape, even if they're not born yet!
Ruby: (Sighs) All this time worrying about seeing everyone again, and I can't even get two words to him.
Jaune: (Flashback) "You've always been a better huntress than I am, Ruby. ...H-Hey! I'm trying to be nice! Besides, we both know what I meant. You might not feel like it, but you're not just the world's hero."
YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN MY HERO, TOO!
Ruby: I wish... we could've talked more...
Jaune: (Coming up from behind) There you are!
Ruby: Jaune?!
Pyrrha: Hey. Ruby. (Smiles) It's okay. Just go for it~.
Jaune: Sorry we weren't able to catch up earlier. Being a headmaster isn't all it's cracked up to be. (Next to her) I've been talking to Weiss every week since the Vytal Festival is coming up, and it's great that all of our friends are working close by, too, either as hunstmen, huntresses, or faculty. But the funny thing, though, is that of all the friends we have...
Jaune: You're the friend I've wanted to talk to over everyone else. So, uh, if... if you're not busy right now...
Pyrrha: I lived, and fought, and died for what I loved.
Pyrrha: Ruby Rose... You've always had something special about you. Now it's your turn to live and fight for what you love. And hopefully... (Smiles) die knowing that you were loved in kind~!
Student: H-Hey! How did she do that?! She completely avoided that laser attack!
Jaune: (Headmaster) Simple. She did... nothing.
Student: ...What? How does doing nothing make you dodge lasers?
Jaune: It's like I said. She didn't do anything... on purpose, anyways.
Student: I... still don't get it.
Jaune: Ever heard the proverb, "Trees fall where reeds thrive"?
Jaune: It's took Ruby years to learn how to do what she did. If she second-guessed herself for even a hundredth of a second, she'd be as good as done. That's why Ruby Rose is the number one huntress in Remnant.
Jaune: A lot of huntresses and huntsmen take pride in where they've come from, while Ruby has learned to take things as they and let them wash over her.
