annual reminder that sei/healingwind/doomherald is an actual sociopath who traced art from well known artists for years, for everything from commissioned work to highly popular fandom pieces, and never actually apologized to anyone relevant or refunded the people she cheated out of their money and TO THIS DAY refuses to live stream her drawing because she’s still fucking tracing lmfao

So..in the midst of trying to find a link to properly source a zerochan post here on tumblr I managed to link myself back to a past artist on DA

I had racked my brain looking for this pixiv artist to source properly & had remembered that healingwind@DA (at the time) had traced from them and went to track her down (just for the sole purpose of finding that pixiv artist to get the link) BUT I did manage to stumble onto her NEW accounts...I guess she's back to "drawing" albeit I wasn't pleased with what I saw...

I had never really been a fan of her "work" when she blew up because something always screamed something was really off (and it was lol). Something wasn't sitting right with me and I avoided her work and chose not to be a follower. I thought the same thing then as I do now. I KNOW I've seen those poses on Pixiv but I don't have the time to sit and cipher threw the site. 

While I and (Im sure) many others, noticed her tracing before that whole situation blew up (I stayed out of that poor mosh pit), I stayed quiet and watched the community and her immaturely deal with it and for awhile it died when she "left". I'm not going to bash her for anything she hasn't done yet (and doesnt plan to do) (like many others demanding apologies/money) because I wasn't actively involved and I'm all for 2nd chances.. HOWEVER she seems to be back to the old ways... 

I like to think I'm unhealthily on pixiv (swimming in the Riren art atm) but the artist on there are so inspiring it's really sad to see that I recognize Sei's "new" "art" as something I've definitely seen before on Pixiv (but my opinion means nothing until I FIND that art)..not to mention that each face is clearly inconsistent with one another AND differentiating in styles. Styles I've clearly seen on Pixiv ranging form the facial type, nose type, eye type, side view...etc. Pixiv artist have DEFINED styles unique to their own self (Ive yet to come across 2 that are similar)

It makes me sad that nothing's changed aside from trying to mask tracing even more...but the thing is that shes making the mistake of tracing (((popular)))) artists..even on Pixiv. (Especially since Pixiv is a growing browsed site on the radar among Westerners now)

I hadn't intended to find her semi-active again but it makes me sad that nothing's really changed? I don't discredit that she can/cannot draw and that she has skill on SOME level but the disparities are very wide... I don't abhor negative feelings for her either, not at all, it's just sad to see it happening again. 

There's nothing wrong with being a novice artist but don't trace on ANY level.. references are okay but not EVERY time.. learn anatomy, watch the people around you..art is a process...

I was wondering what you make of luxrays/healingwind's psa about how she doesn't trace anymore

i think it's a crock of shit. she's completely glossing over all the shit she did during the kurobas debacle and instead trying to dismantle all the times she got called out after it. saying other overlays weren't legit (they were), saying people calling out her .gif process as faked isn't fair (it is). it's a long list of excuses, very reminiscent of when she was first called out. 

as it stands there's still a huge disparity in skill between her art images that can only be accounted for by assuming she still traces. I believe she's gotten smarter about it, and won't trace art from fucking temari or someone (none of whom she has apologized to), but probably go to cribbing from unknown/less popular pixiv artists. 

girl is a habitual liar. i don't want to go into personal attacks, but i've been in contact with enough people to know that that's simply the truth. the fact stands that she still hasn't refunded any traced commissions, apologized to any artists she bullied, etc etc. these aren't the actions of a reformed individual.

I feel like this issue is really hard to go around...

Sei has done like so much horrible things....But personally I feel that people have the ability to change. Don't get me wrong I've looked up Sei A LOT in the past. She has quite a distinct style yes. I've followed her for about 2 years+ so I've seen everything unfold and whatnot. Like I’m sure Sei can draw, you cannot just magically have super clean lineart or an amazing sense for color. Those are things that need to be trained and her artwork is evidence of that. Sei has skill but I’m not sure why she has to trace in order to like produce her art??? If she’s willing to train those other skills but not anatomy then I don’t understand why???? ---- In my opinion she has very low self confidence, but not the cowering away type. It’s the one where you lash out to hide your weakness type. Which is why I highly doubt anyone will get an apology or a refund because to admit a "fault" for those types of people would be showing that they are weak and they feel that, that is the worst possible outcome. For them its kinda like an equivalent to dying.

Honestly though, I think that once you actually apologize its not as bad as it seems.

The situation at hand, however, I don’t think will allow for that since for one thing, Sei has "apparently" received a bunch of death threats and hate mail. I'm not sure if she’s victimizing herself (as people seem to show evidence for that) but its not like I trust other people not to send threats. Humans have that capability after all and I wouldn't put it pass them. If she were to formally apologize, I think that she would think that it would validate all the hate towards her because you know, self esteem issues. Of course her personality will never allow that so apologizing is near impossible. Heck I'm sure that the reason that people even trace in the first place is because they have very very low self esteem in their art. I mean low self esteem is a problem that ALL artists have, it's just that tracers have it more seriously than others and resort to not so great things in order to alleviate it .

Ah, right. Back to the apologizing issue. I think it's also not very possible for Sei to refund anyone because I’m guessing that she has earned maybe a $100 or so through commissions? That amount of money is not easy to refund.

Firstly, she can't refund just one person, if she refunds one she has to refund all and it's not that easy to shell out so much money (and I have no idea how good of a record she keeps for commissions except for the publicly posted ones)

Since she can’t suddenly conjure up $100+, the next possibility would be to borrow from her parents. For obvious reasons she can't do that. I mean who wants to tell their parents what they did wrong? And this is her problem not her parents. 

Even if Sei had the money in a bank, to withdraw $100+ would be mighty suspicious (to her parents) which leads to the next point...

I'm quite sure Sei is in college. As everyone knows college is expensive so that might present some difficulties. The money in the possible bank account is probably for college.

Sei could work but I don’t know how many job opportunities are around her area, how time she actually has to spend cause you know school is quite taxing, and working at minimum wage would take quite some time to accumulate the needed money. Plus if she were to work and all that money earned was to disappear I would think the parents would get suspicious too. And who likes working pshh (not that, that excuses her for that possibility).

Sei could take commissions to earn the money but obviously no one is going to commission her with the reputation she has now. And even if she didn't trace in her commissions there would be people stuck to her back screaming not to commission her because she is a “liar”, “cheater”, etc.

td;lr It’s freaking hard to refund everyone for their commissions unless she informs her parents

However the possibility of issuing a public apology is not impossible AT ALL. It might be especially hard with all the hate floating around but sometimes you gotta suck in your pride and do it. And I’m sure that on the long run, no matter what, an apology will prove more benefits than consequences.

So Sei at the very least please apologize.

Tracing

I accidentally stumbled upon this post about this girl named Sei/Healingwid/Luxrays. I looked it up and found this failing wind blog proving her tracing. I don’t really think I’ll achieve anything by writing this but I just want to let it out at least. Honestly I find her situation a little sad. I’m NOT saying that her actions were right. Tracing other peoples’ art is NOT all right and neither is denying it. I agree that she has behaved wrongly and she should apologise. HOWEVER, all those death threats is taking it too far. Personally I think that she has potential to make really fine art by herself. I’ve seen her tracing pictures and honestly the line work looks pretty smooth and she is fairly skilled with colouring and textures. I mean she really could create something marvellous if she just keeps practicing. So to sum it up. He past actions has not been right and I think she should accept it an just apologise for it. However, she’s got a chance to improve by herself, and I think she should take it. She could be great someday is she just keeps practising.

reminder that the artist 'luxrays' was formerly known as 'healingwind' on this site and is an unrepentant tracer and art thief who has never apologized to the people she harassed and bullied to take their complaints about her down and has continued to make money off of her stolen art. when asked several months ago to stream her art process to prove she hadn't gone back to tracing like she claimed, she suddenlt had convenient technical difficulties so she couldn't, surprise surprise.

this girl is toxic and treats people like shit; please don't boost her bloated ego by reblogging her traced art.

Well, there's been some interesting hubbub lately and since this blog seems to get referenced quite a bit, I thought I needed to dust it off and weigh in. 

Above, you'll see sei has finally acknowledged tracing but with nary a sign of remorse or apology (this is not new) and claims she has moved on from it. I clipped it down from a series of posts to save on scrolling. 

I have addressed her bullying tendencies several times before on this blog (or other people have addressed it by their own accounts), but the point of this blog was always about a lack of integrity as an artist, so without further ado:

To her credit, sei has posted a set of livestreams (heads up, she says she has technical issues) which has been broken down and critiqued rather thoroughly here. Kindly view both halves. You'll see in dapperpants' post references to partially traced poses where the untraced parts are incredibly awkward looking. To which, I would like to direct you to this:

(source for original here) where girlJude was drawn 9 months after girlHayden. You will also notice yes, this is the exact same pose she used in her livestream. In fact, for someone who is known for inconsistency (as per dapperpants' explanation above and also this old post), it is interesting she can do this without a lightbox (or a low opacity sketch hidden by low resolution and chopped up streams).

Also surfaced recently just by way of social circle: (from august, edit: source redacted at request of OP, sei's illustration from last week. Original artist was also a former friend and tells me she has hits on her blog from where sei lives)

Since the tumblr art community has enormously diverse definitions of tracing vs referencing, I don't really want to open that huge debate up again on this blog. Instead, I trust everyone will do their due diligence and put on their critical thinking caps and come to their own conclusions.

hey guys

a reminder to everybody that luxrays @ tumblr is the "artist" formerly known as healingwind, an art thief who has never apologized for her actions, refunded any commissions she created by tracing, and has lied to and manipulated a staggering number of people over the course of years.

please don't like or reblog her art and further encourage her behaviour. she has learned nothing from past experiences, and is still tracing to this day. I'm putting this in the xillia tag because this seems to be her new main fandom, after getting run out of the kuroko fandom for stealing from and bullying other artists.
