GreenMan and WoolBraid Headcanons/AU
Special thanks to @vanyzvat for introducing this ship and concept.
Disclaimer: This AU is sticking close to Canon as possible, so Marcus and Gracie are still horrible people. This AU isn't an attempt to get anyone to sympathize with them, just so you know as there are some fluff in this post. Its just a relationship I really like and find interesting due to their similarities.
This AU isn't really accurate to the timing of both of their game events, but I tried to get it to work.
This post is really long, so just pour yourself a cup of tea and relax.
For GreenMan (Human Ship Name)

Introduction Info:
○ Throughout their existence, they are so selfish and awful to other people but only treated each other with genuine love and care.
○ Well, the best they could. They had a pretty healthy relationship as humans.
○ Kinda like how two negatives make a positive.
○ They don't really feel sorry for what they did in their jobs, probably a little. But hey, a "check is a check"
Their childhoods:
○ Gracie had a good childhood. She always had her hair in braids. She loved cats, she was a social butterfly and was adored by her parents. Though she learned early on how to get what she wanted through manipulation. For an example: if her friends didn't do something she wanted, she would give them the silent treatment, silently cry, or make hurtful comments. As she got older, she noticed other people may find it alarming, so she stopped it. But, it never really left her. She liked the power trip it gave her.
○ Marcus had a pampered childhood. His parents would over reward him when did anything good or what they approved of, he would get a "treat". Something like toy or ice cream. His parents meant well, but he grew up with the "treat" mentality. Believing if he pleased authority, he will get rewarded. He actually never really grew up. He developed manipulative tendencies later in adulthood.
How they met:
○ They met in College. Marcus went to a college studying in Biology. Gracie went to the same college and took up studying in Children Psychology.
○ Gracie found Marcus to be very endearing, when she was with him, she could never find it in herself to manipulate him. It was like her manipulative tendencies were paused when it came to him.
○ Marcus didn't care much for Peach Pie or Peaches until he tried her peach pie and he loved peach anything ever since.
○ They seriously dated and Marcus proposed to her in their senior years (why do I have a feeling he proposed to her with a ring pop or those toy rings you get at like a prize corner)
○ They got married right after college.
○ Gracie had a lily bouquet at their wedding.
○ Probably had the cheapest wedding they could afford.
○ Gracie wanted to keep her maiden name, Marcus was just so happy that they were married he didn't care.
○ The conversation was like "Marcus, honey, you have a wonderful name. But I would like to keep my maiden name."
"Wow, um, alright."
Married Life:
○ @vanyzvat headcanoned Gracies pet names for Marcus was something like "Wonderful" and "Lovely Lily" and I love it so much.
○ They also said that Marcus was like "Haha thats me! Marcus!", but he did try to give her pet names like "Sweetie" or "Honey", always coming out awkwardly. Gracie appreciated the idea.
○ Gracie soon applied to Playtime CO as a counselor and got the job.
○ Gracie learned sign language and so gave Marcus some lessons, kind of like a something to add to his resume. He had a bad memory but signing the alphabet stuck with him.
○ Gracie soon began to film the brainwashing videos, she didn't really care. Maybe she had a sadistic strike, but was paranoid about Marcus finding out. ⤵︎
"If he finds out..he'll think of me as some monster! He can't find out!"
○ Marcus was jobless for the first couple of years of their marriage, he was ashamed of it.
○ Marcus was a house husband for awhile, it gave him a sense of purpose. He learned to cook decent, Gracie appreciated it and made sure he knew it. His idol was probably Martha Stewart.
○ Soon the two were falling into hard times with Gracie having to work overtime as Marcus was trying to get a job.
○ Marcus soon applied at Hameln and got a call back. Gracie was very happy, and she helped him prepare for the first interview ⤵︎
"You got this, Wonderful. You're hard working, and honest, you'll get the job."
○ Marcus went to the first interview and learned what he was getting himself into. He just wanted a paycheck, not really caring about the consequences. He went for the second follow up interview.
○ Soon Marcus got the job and helped them during surgery and soul proceedings. He felt bad for the subjects, but honestly didn't really care. He only cared about getting caught and Gracie finding out.
○ Gracie and Marcus were now both ashamed and feared what the other person would think.
○ They originally wanted kids, but after all they've done, they couldn't see the point in it. They literally couldn't see kids as human beings anymore. They talked about the subject and lied about their reasons as to why they didn't need kids.
Marcus comes home from work, he puts his coat up and sees Gracie sitting down on the couch with a cup of tea. She looked tense. She looks at Marcus. "W-Welcome home, Wonderful..l-look we need to talk."
Marcus sits down, looking concern. "G..Gracie are you okay? What's going on?"
"I- love kids, Marcus. But I don't know if I could see myself having one. I know I said I wanted one before, but, we both work and it wouldnt be fair to have our child be alone or not see us often. I'm sorry.
"Thank god." Marcus thought to himself. "Oh, Wow. That's..fine, Gracie. Really, I'm glad you told me. You're right. Honestly, it would really disrupt things around here. Come here."
○ Gracie and Marcus worked longer hours, spent less time with one another which put their marriage on the rocks.
○ Marcus was getting jealous Gracie had to stay longer hours with employees that he didn't really like and felt were getting too close to her.
○ Gracie was disappointed Marcus would let Hameln walk over him and make him work overtime with no extra pay. She tried to get him to stand up for himself, but Marcus didn't listen. Rather listening to authority than her. He never listened.
○ The two got distant, and soon they started to argue and fight.
○ A week before the hour of joy, Gracie and Marcus got into a very bad fight.
....
"This is no longer working. I'm leaving."
"G..Gracie..Don't go...I-I didn't mean it..I-I don't know what I was thinking."
"Goodbye, Marcus."
...

○ Despite everything, they both loved each other.
○ Gracie packed a bag and left, staying in her car for awhile until she went missing.
○ After she left, Marcus sought Wooly out as an escape from his old life and go back to a simpliar time. His childhood. Before he met Gracie. He wanted to forget her. He was unable to forget her even as Wooly.
○ Gracie was captured during the hour of joy, got turned into Lily Lovebraids. She tried to fight against her own brainwashing and manipulative tapes. She wanted to remember Marcus the most. But, unfortunately she would forget all about him.
○ Both Marcus and Gracie never got a chance to file a divorce and stay legally married until both went missing.
○ Both at a time believed the other was safe and had a happier life without them.
WoolBraid Before They Met:
Lily Lovebraids
♡ Tried to cling onto her memories of Marcus for as long as possible, but unfortunately he is completely wiped from her mind.
♡ He was the last thing she truly remembered during her isolation and brainwashing
♡ She could only remember the letter "M"
♡ She can atleast recall "Peach Pies"
♡ She created a life size manquinn doll that she keeps by Ms Grace's corpse, taking care of both of them. Like a stand in for him subconsciously.
♡ She moves "it" around, playing housewife to it.
♡ Lily will snap at it, angry for some reason but will be quick to cling onto it.
Wooly
• Wants to forget Gracie, but unfortunately shes ingrained into his mind.
• Has dreams about their old life together constantly, what he could've done differently.
• She was his only regret.
• Hoped one day she will enter one of the tapes so he could see her again.
• Has a small doll that looks like her that he has in his area, even gave it a small braid. I imagine he also has a doll of himself to imagine what he could've done differently with her.
• He draws pictures of her when Amanda is busy so she doesn't ask him who that is or make her try to recall anything.
• If someone ever says "Wife" in any type of answer asked, Wooly will immediately be sad, look away, and rub his ring finger.
• It even affected Shepherd to a degree, if it sees Lily flowers, it will stare for awhile.
For WoolBraid (Afterlife? Ship Name)
Meeting again:
• Wooly has no idea Lily is Gracie but has this deja vu feeling with her.
• Lily has no memories of Marcus but this "Wooly" character feels familiar to her.
• Its like their souls know each other and are trying to tell them something.
• Wooly wants to get know more about Lily, he will stare at her and try to be in the screen as much as possible.
• Wooly will be so distracted in trying to read Lily that he will mostly ignore Amanda when she tries to remember, making Amanda remember her life as Rebecca alot sooner.
• Lily will want to get to know Wooly and Amanda some more and binge watch whatever tapes she has.
• Lily will make plushies of them.
• Wooly uses stactic to put a copy of "Herd of Mouth with Wooly The Sheep" so the two can talk while Amanda is in her show.
• Amanda doesnt mind the relationship and supports it. But she will get annoyed that Wooly and Lily are goo goo eyes almost all the time, she will probably say "Get a room" or something
"Long Distance" Relationship(?):
• Wooly and Lily talk one on one and the two get closer.
• Lily keeps watching Amanda the adventurer but also puts on Woolys tape so the two can basically video call.
• Wooly sends Lily gifts with stactic and Lily gives Wooly gifts as well through the screen.
• Lily gives Wooly nicknames like "Wonderful" and "My lovely Lily" which reminds Wooly of Gracie..
• Lily tells Wooly about the prototype and praises him, Wooly gets upset, not liking how the prototype treats her.
• Lily feels comfortable enough to tell Wooly who her "Best friend" is and shows him..Gracies body and ID
...
I can see Wooly responding with three options:
MOST LIKELY:
1. Wooly starts crying and crashing out, believing Lily had something to do with Gracies death. He yells and screams at her, this crashout summons Shepherd which..rips Lily to shreds. Filled with guilt, he isolates himself, stays in the "Herd of the Mouth tape" and Amanda is alone.
2. Wooly processes whats going on, tries to stay calm..and asks Lily what happened. Lily cant answer, but Wooly puts two and two together and realizes Lily may be his wife.
3. Wooly freaks out and immediately demands Lily tell him what happened to Gracie, at this point he developed feelings for Lily and doesn't want to believe she could've killed his wife. Lily can't answer and Wooly shuts the tape off. And a note appears telling Lily to destroy the tapes and never contact him again.
...
I can honestly see only pain between these two. I don't think Wooly is capable of growing as a person, he will probably lash out and unintentionally having Shepherd kill Lily.
...
BUT
If Wooly realizes Lily is Gracie, then here's how it can proceed:
• Wooly tries to get Lily to remember him, but unfortunately, Lily is incapable of remembering her life as Gracie.
• Each time Wooly tries to get through to her, she has a panic attack or goes silent.
• Seeing as Lily cant remember, Wooly decided to try and just be there for Lily.
• He tries to get Lily to grow up, which slowly starts to work. With time, Lily soon acts more mature and stops wishing for the prototypes approval.
• His softness for Lily influenced Shepherd go to her as a guard dog.
• Lily is suprised but is happy to have a piece of Wooly with her in the real world.
• Lily takes Shepherd out on walks, feeds him what she could and cuddles with it.
• Lily puts the TV on a cart with wheels with a very long extension cord so Wooly and her can "walk" together.
• A bittersweet ending
• Wooly leaves Amanda alone and Amandas tapes disappear for Riley to find the tapes and free Rebecca without Wooly interfering.
• They live happily until Poppy blows up the factory
• If Marcus and Gracie both die (somehow) they reunited in hell. Lets be honest, neither are getting into heaven so its like "We're in hell. But we're together."
Oh, and uh, if Prototype attacks Lily in front of Wooly and Shepherd- oh boy..

Wow, that took awhile to type.
I tried to also think of songs that suit them and rn I'm getting "Play Date" by Melanie martinez to describe how Gracie felt at the end of their marriage.
Those are my headcanons for Greenman and Woolbraid.
