hearthfire & cauldron transmutation rituals 🔥🐚🕯️

adapted from the hearthfire energy-drawing ritual from the house witch: your complete guide to creating a magical space with rituals and spells for hearth and home by arin murphy-hiscock.

this ritual is great for after a really draining day or experience, and the cauldron version is also related to other contemporary cauldron of poesy rituals.

hearthfire transmutation 🪔

initiate a basic light trance or meditative state, with whichever technique you utilize (e.g. breathing, mindfulness, humming, etc.).

visualize (or an alternative practice) your spirit-hearth, which is connected to your home-hearth. visualize it with a fire of some kind lit (including a candle, oil lamp, etc.).

visualize holding your hands out near the flame, and feeling its heat. imagine energetic bonds forming between your hands and the flame. imagine energy polluted with negativity flowing out of your left hand and into the fire, and fresh hot energy like lava flowing into your right hand, through your arms, chest, and entire body. this polluted energy is transmuted in the flame.

continue until you feel energized throughout your body, then move your hands away from the flame and place your palms together.

thank the spiritual hearth for this energy exchange. ground with a few deep breaths before opening your eyes.

cauldron transmutation 🍵

initiate a basic light trance or meditative state, with whichever technique you utilize (e.g. breathing, mindfulness, humming, etc.).

visualize (or an alternative practice) a cauldron of cool water imbued with healing, comfort, and serenity.

visualize placing your left hand into the water, and expelling energy polluted with negativity into the water, where it immediately dissipates into nothingness. place your right hand in the water, and visualize blue, serene energy flowing from the water into your arm, to your chest, and throughout your body. this polluted energy is transmuted in the magical water.

continue until you feel energized throughout your body, then remove your hands from the water and place your palms together.

thank the spirit cauldron for this energy exchange. ground with a few deep breaths before opening your eyes.

for the first time ever, i celebrated something with queer, witch community. we lit a hearth together and performed a release and manifestation ritual together. it was beautiful. it was the community i have yearned and prayed to Hestia for, for so long. What an exhausting week. I need to remember that I may be mostly recovered from burnout, but I still need to manage my spoons, largely to avoid a relapse.

I had planned to go the gym today, but I don't think it would be good for me. Which is frustrating, I want to exercise more and get stronger and fitter. But I won't be strong and fit if I burn out.

So instead, today I will do some gentle housework and otherwise rest.

i finally focused in & made a dedicated hearth altar on my spice rack. it’s tiny, but matches the spirit of my tiny apartment. and most importantly, it’s simple enough for me to maintain & interact with easily in my daily life✨

i’m trying to get better at hearth craft and maintaining my home.

my adhd makes it a challenge to treat my home the way it deserves, so i’m hoping by including it into my spiritual practice, i can turn cleaning into mini rituals and spells, or lean on my home based allied spirits for some guidance.
