any autistic lancelot headcanons?
of course i am not insane <3
well first things first the reason he sleeps in armor like all the time and never takes it off? so simple. that is such good pressure. a wearable weighted blanket. and the immense stim of the sound of armor clacking? he is having the time of his life every single time he even slightly moves. i also think he stims by rubbing the bindings on his swords so any sword hes used for even a slightly decent amount of time has frayed and faded bindings from how much he rubs them down :-) luckily the sword w the red hilt has like sexy magic bindings otherwise literally no one would know its still the same one. swords are his own silly little personal worrying stones.
also on this if he doesnt know what to do w his hands he will be making that everyone elses problem. clacking his gauntlets together or just doing the silly raptor pose.... lancelot has idle animations like a video game character <3
he tends to get overwhelmed extremely fast in big social situations that isnt just a tourney in which he knows exactly what his role is. if he is left to his own devices at a party well he will not be at that party next time u look for him.
i think he also tends to give off the wrong impression in a lot of situations simply cus he doesnt emote w his face too much . hes just a simple man who almost always looks like o.o or even... maybe on rare occasions ó.ò
also lancelot is quiet and just likes listening to people talk because he is not good at it but also i do simply think if hes asked about like identifying plants or one of his few other silly interests he will be talking for hours and hours <3 he and isolde when they get going will literally go for days about certain topics and well thats so cool of them. he will also just be content listening to a one sided conversation for hours (something that is great when two of ur best friends are gawain and tristan)
o he has big trouble w textures . sure he is a fruit connoisseur but he is so fucking picky with them </3 i think this also plays into his comfort in wearing armor so much but if ur wearing gauntlets u dont have to touch all the weird fabric ur sitting on or get your hands messy and sticky when murdering people or anything that feels so so bad <3
another thing is i think some of this has to do with why hes so so comfortable in the water like YES he grew up under the lake but consider... its always darker and quieter and LESS everything when ur under there.... above the water everything is so loud and bright and u can feel everything more. hes just a little prone to sensory overload and deals with it how any normal person would . locking himself in a very small room or dunking himself in the closest body of water for an hour .
