It's so funny to me that Mary Shelley, her husband, John Polidori, and Lord Byron had a competition to see who could write the best horror story and she wrote fucking Frankenstein. Probably been brought up before but I like the little tiny ? Parallel? I guess? Between a scene right at the start of the gravel arc and the scene right after Suo leaves. In the first one, Nirei is hurt from his training with Suo, and Sakura asks what happened, with that like... intent to kill whoever hurt his Nirei look in his eyes lol. And Nirei and Suo laugh it off, because it's not a big deal to them. It was just Suo who hurt him, only because they were training together. Because they're friends (and of course you rely on your friends for help.)

And then right after Suo leaves, when Sakura and the others go to Nirei in the park (and find Nirei all beat up) Sakura, of course, immediately asks who did this to Nirei, in the same like... "who do I have to go hunt down and kill." Kind of way. And once again, it's Suo who hurt him. And why? Just like before it's because they're friends. Nirei wasn't going to let his friend leave so easily, he had to put up a fight how Suo taught him. And they're friends they "aren't anything" which is why Suo had to go say goodbye (because how could you expect him to rely on these people for help?)
