                      there wasn’t a soul among them, wearing a SHIELD badge, that could take up the title innocent. they didn’t question orders, they were agents, they did what they had to do to survive & get the job done. there’s no teacher like experience & experience says the plan always goes to shit. now his, fresh out of the academy, boots are soaked in BLOOD & her cover is blown, but they’re both alive.                                 ( not so lucky: the two men laying contorted in the ally )                     ❛ you ARE strong, big guy, but you’re not that strong. call in for extraction. tell them asap, this guy’s gotta be on the index. ❜

                    he looked PERTURBED for a moment  (  a look he’d practiced many times in order to master what he felt was PRECISELY the very look bore in mind when it’d been named  )  his mouth settled in an uninterrupted line and his brows pushed in to meet one another. if he put as much work into something CONSTRUCTIVE as he did with his melodramatics, he might have more to do with his time than waste the hours in pandemonium.                     but then when would he come across the time to flirt with the oblivious nephilim?                    ❝ strange, it’s almost as if it were MEANT to.❞                    (  he’d find it frustrating if he wasn’t so charmed by the lightwood boy  )

                    if he kept to ordinary hours, it’s likely he wouldn’t be standing on a new york street holding a  (  questionably obtained  )  coffee in one hand and his cellphone in the other. it’s also likely he’d be at home, no doubt METICULOUSLY removing chairman meow’s claws from some otherwise priceless something in the hopes of not ruining it  (  as much as a cat could, his had an AFFINITY for cashmere  )  and wrapped in a silk robe hunched in a presumably unflattering manner over some thousand year old text he’d been hired to translate.                      as it stood, he did NOT keep ordinary hours.                                          a fact one ragnor fell knew too well.                     he’d dressed for appearance rather than PRACTICALITY knowledge punctuated by a particularly unforgiving breeze, as he stared a little more intently on the dimly lit screen of his phone awaiting some explanation as to why he’d been stood at the street corner for well over fifteen minutes  (  ragnor had never been a particularly punctual individual, but even this seemed excessive  )  he’d begun to suspect the worst  (  in this case the WORST meant he’d been summoned to aid with a problem and would now be expected to see it through alone  )                     his phone BUZZED.                            sometimes he HATED being right.                     a wordy and otherwise displeased message would follow at some later date, but for now he stepped off the curb and almost headlong into a passerby  (  a familiar one, too  )                      ❝ a little LATE isn’t it, alexander? ❞  

                    while the other nephilim had been thus named, he’d made a point of calling this one by his name  (  more specifically his full name  )  and while it might’ve seemed to be with some greater purpose, he’d be amiss as to admit it was simply for the fact that no one else did  (  and magnus bane liked to be PARTICULAR about these things  )                     his coffee is cold and he’s been stood up to deal with some unnecessary downworlder trouble.                                          but for a MOMENT he forgets both these things.                               (  he’d always had a one track mind in the presence of something beautiful  )
