I just read all your wip posts (for the wip ask game) and I'm so curious about Gin! It's for ESOM, right? What kind of monster will he be *o*? (He's already a "demon" in the original op verse but everyone is a demon here, so he can't be just that, right?)

Yep!!! He’s definitely not just a demon, but I can’t give away too much so... So I I’ll give you some hints !! In canon, Gin’s epithet was the ‘Man-Demon,’ but there is no evidence to say he was born in the East Blue - only that he was there. In canon, he also connects to Sanji in a manner. He is also not strong enough to surrvive outside of the east blue anymore, as in ESOM canon its been established that only the strongest of the strong (demons) can surrvive in the GrandLine/outside of the East Blue due to Things Which I Will Elaborate Upon Later. He’s indebted to Krieg, and Krieg is a cheater who uses tools to fake strength instead of his own strength.

I will add however now that Im twenty chapters deep in ESOM, ive pretty much decided to stray away from any ‘actual’ demon from lore besides like vague inspiration, so he’s no particular ‘type’ of demon right now. But, you can still guess to their stories and origins and attributes, that hasn’t changed!!!

welp in extremely dumb news, there’s apparently an entire scene I wrote out mentally months ago and just...never...actually...wrote down

i honestly just?? i can’t believe i never considered the fact that there could be modern faterians actually existing on mobius. because there certainly were some who stayed behind during the great move. definitely not a huge majority, but enough to stay behind and attempt to preserve the culture they had on mobius even if it meant being wiped out by perfect chaos all those years ago. to think, it’s possible that there could be descendants of azure’s clan. i never even really thought much of what could be left. did the remaining clan members go into hiding after perfect chaos’ wrath? their culture certainly was washed away over time, after all there’s next to no remaining evidence of their existence. the old ruins are all underwater as of now, likely hidden by the ancients in order to preserve their secrets and prevent anyone from learning of where the clan actually disappeared to. but i just can’t get over a mobius-born azure being descendant from this clan and not having any idea. having an affinity for water and never understanding why, or perhaps her clan’s deity reaching out to her through dreams and visions and just “???” not knowing what they mean........
