ok but can we talk about how we're never actually told how the actor looks when he's cosmically empowered, if you take that option.

just that:

he "burns with a terrifying, barely controlled force"

jesbet turns away from him when she sees him and if she dies she's transfixed yet also horrified by him

his laugh becomes "as loud as a hurricane" and causes those near him to cover their ears in pain
