ok I'm relatively? decent at spotting regular TERFs and radfems...how on earth do you spot cryptoterfs and lesfems? this is the first time I've heard either of those terms
I’m sorry, it’s not you specifically. cryptoterf is just someone really good at hiding their TERF ideology or using dogwhistles that *seem* ok (for example, maybe they reblog a lot of what on-the-surface is totally cool basic feminism or stuff like “men suck” which I have no prob with, women shuld be able to air their frustrations w men) but who maybe associate with known TERFs and parrot TERF rhetoric but can keep up plausible deniability to an extent.
Like, I’ll see a post and think “yeah that’s good info”, go to their blog, scroll a bit then I’ll see a shit ton of dogwhistles and reblogs from known terfs or just full-blown out and loud TERF rhetoric. TERFs tend to make themselves known QUITE quickly in my experience - I’ll see some TERF bullshit by the second page easily.
Lesfem (or lesbian feminism) is another term TERFs started using to describe themselves now that TERF is more well known
There’s also radfem but I think that’s pretty obvious what that means (radical feminist aka TERF). Also “gender critical” is a huge red flag.
I highly recommend the shinigami eyes extension for chrome if you’re interested in having an easier way to spot some of this crap.
