🩺 DR. HEIDI HOLLAND-MCKAY is a third year surgical resident at PTMC, the pitt original character

Heidi moved in with Cassie pretty much as soon as her highschool diploma was awarded to her— it wasn't so much for her benefit as it was to Cassie's. Struggling with addiction, Cassie needed help keeping herself accountable if she had any chance in seeing her son again. Heidi was the one to suggest living together, seeing it as a chance to get to know her (much) older sister a little bit better. Growing up Heidi never saw much of Cassie, just on holidays or special occasions. She cherished the moments the spent together but being a result of their father's second marriage, Heidi never held it against Cassie for keeping a distance from her.

Living together was an arduous journey at the beginning, Heidi navigating Cassie's highs and lows while Cassie learned the challenges of being a caretaker to both herself and her younger sister. In this time Heidi was gearing up to start pre-med at the University of Pittsburgh, she started volunteering at local hospitals and nursing homes. With a bit of convincing, Cassie had joined Heidi in her volunteer work and was surprisingly moved by the impact she had there. Cassie thought it would be nice to take some courses herself, finally get a semblance of ground under her feet. By the end of the semester, Cassie was gunning to join Heidi in pre-med.

In the hospital Heidi is known as "Garcia's protégé" and is currently aiming for a sub-specialty in trauma surgery. She is often seen floating behind Garcia between the OR and the ER, not without an occasional visit to her sister though. She tends to linger a little longer than necessary in the ER and has to be reminded to skedaddle back to "the land of the scalpel". Outside of the hospital Heidi dedicates alot of her time to her hobbies; photography, embroidery, and jewelry making!

god okay here we go headcanon/lore time let's go

heidi is a surgical resident training along garcia in trauma surgery and is constantly in and out of the ed

she is more flighty than the surgeons upstairs would like

heidi loves to look for any reason to linger longer than necessary in the ed

so its a no brainer that heidi would be the one to assist victoria to the staff lounge when she takes her header during the degloving trauma

and the rest was history <3

the first time they hung out heidi taught victoria how to make string friendship bracelets

they made matching ones <3

neither of them have taken off said bracelets

its one of their favorite things to do together

victoria doesn't drive,, she's heidi's passenger princess and she loves it, they both do

they are not immune to the blind box epidemic

infact, 9 times out of 10 when they go out they end up picking some out

victoria's favs are the calico critters and heidi is a big fan of sonny angels

babysitting dates :') they love taking harrison out to the pool, skate park, playground, anywhere and everywhere

also just love dragging him around with them for the sake of it,, target + fast food runs with the kid are their favorite

he forces them to play fortnite with him, even tho theyre both really bad

love to think of victoria as a water bug, always wanting to be at the pool or beach

while victoria tans, heidi burns, so its up to victoria to slather the red head in sunscreen every 30 minutes

neither of them complain tho ;P

lots and LOTS of study dates, most of which happen at victoria's house surprisingly

shamsi welcomes heidi with open arms thinking that her influence can help steer victoria in her preferred direction

the amount of studying they get done kinda varies tho... especially further on into their relationship

vic spends LOTS of time with heidi at her place, to get away from her parents

quiet afternoons spent together on their days off,,,

reading, crafting, studying, napping,, all very likely to happen

idk i'll probably add to this later but here this is foe now <3
