"C-Chara. I'm scared. Help."

Chara had been sitting outside, casually messing around with the headband for their costume- Hearing the familiar voice started them just a bit- not because it was Asriel’s voice, but because of the fact that Asriel wasn’t there- And the words that were said. 

Of course, they pushed that aside and leaned down, so that they were on eye-level with the flower-- By design, it looked incredibly familiar-- Didn’t it look like one of the flowers from their village..? 

“... What’s wrong? Did someone scare you, little guy...?”

Asriel was here when I woke up.

I don’t get him, I messed up, didn’t I? I wasn’t supposed to wake up at all until he had my soul. Then those weird skeletons showed up, and... I don’t really remember what happened next. And now I’m in this bed, and the tall one keeps coming by and asking weird questions. He’s kinda hard to hear, and he’s so... I dunno. It’s like he thinks I’m super important. He even asked permission to use a heart-listener-thingy. Who does that?

...not that I’m mad.

Asriel says he didn’t really want to go through with it. I.. I don’t know if I did, either, but now they’re all still stuck down here, same as me. I’m upset, but... it was nice to see his face again. He looked so happy when I opened my eyes. Mom and dad Toriel and Asgore came by too, and they brought pie. I don’t think they know what really happened I asked. The tall skeleton told them. They’re not mad, they just looked so sad. I told them I’m sorry, and they hugged me. I still can’t feel my legs so good, but the tall skeleton says that’s from the flowers, and they’ll come back. I hope he’s right.

Chara sighed, sitting down and adjusting the horned headband before beginning to fiddle with the purple cape that hung over them--

“Asriel, are you sure this was a good idea...?-”

Chara was sitting on their bed, the lights in the room turned off, and curled into a feeble position with their knees up to their chest, and their arms wrapped around their legs- Their face was hidden by their mess of hair, as well as by the fact that they were looking down- their head resting on their knees-- A quick glance over them, and you could see that they had their sleeves rolled up to just above their elbows- a couple of marks in red pen or marker covering both their arms. 

It was quite a sight, to be completely honest. Even more so for someone who had never seen Chara as upset as they seemed to be right now-- And, due to the fact that they hadn’t looked up or moved to pull down their sleeves, it was obvious that they had yet to notice Asriel.

It wasn’t like they had expected to come across the flower again, especially while they were, once again, in temporary control of Frisk’s body... But there he was with his stupid, smug face. Just like he’d had in a past timeline-- 

They forced a smile onto their face as they knelt down next to him-- Honestly, they despised him. But it would be best to play friendly with him for now.
