The Hidden Palace by Helene Wecker
Trying to remain spoiler free, if not, sorry, and please let me know so I can fix tags
Good book but I nearly stopped reading it several times because it made me sad and I can't handle anything sad ever. I'm a hater of tragedies. BUT it does, ultimately have a good ending, even if it isn't my fairy tail ending dreams. Wecker is such a beautiful artisan with details and words, every person is beautifully woven together. We are all apart of this world even across oceans, every action ripples out, touching each other <3333
I was very much delighted by the characters who returned and became bigger characters in this book, and enjoyed the new ones. I think that this book really is a stepping stone to the final destination.
And uh. I was going to comment on how this needs to be a trilogy to wrap things up, and make me totally satisfied instead of just... having a pained heart and. THERE IS!!! Coming out this fall!!! I'm excited and nervous and glad I powered through so I'll be ready to read that one.
