The kennel keeper of the fire giant king is a larger than average fire giant who fights alongside a pack of the largest size hell hounds. (David Sutherland, AD&D module G1-2-3: Against the Giants, TSR, 1981; reprinted from the 1978 Hall of the Fire Giant King) This is a classic Sutherland party-vs-monster scene. The magic-user in the upper left seems to be levitating or flying in order to cast spells over the rest of the party, while the one in the background is learning why he shouldn't be in the front line.
