Hell-Bound: Lose Yourself (Cowboy Bebop)
Gotta love a mash-up that successfully mixes up two of the most recognizable songs in existence. The Oscar-winning Lose Yourself combined with one of the best ending themes ever, The Real Folk Blues. Play this at any party to piss off both your weeb friends and your rap-lovers.
Song Score: 2002/10
Lexus Marsh | 26 | Low Power Hellhound | Kat Von D | Taken
Lexus Marsh was only seven years old when her sleepless nights first started. She didn't notice that it was a problem though. She was excited that she was the only kid in her class that was able to stay up all night. She felt like a grown up of course. It started off slow at first with only a few sleepless nights a week or one every other day, but soon it started to grow. By age nine, Lexus was spending weeks at a time fully awake before her body aloud her to sleep for the night. She still saw no problem in this since she simply wasn't sleepy, but she never told her parents or anyone for that matter. By age sixteen, she only slept a total of three hours each month. She slipped out her bedroom window as soon as her parents were asleep, and spent her nights downtown on the streets performing on her guitar. Down there she met a few young adults who lived their lives out there at all times, and for some reason the lifestyle appealed and called to Lexus. They advised her to stay home and in school telling her that was where she belong, but she was only sixteen and their warnings only made her urge to run stronger.
At age seventeen, the need to escape her home grew too strong. One Monday night Lexus packed the things she thought she needed most and slipped out of her bedroom window like every other night except this night she didn't plan to return. She ran full speed until she reached the downtown train station. She imagined she had plenty of money to get by while she looked for a job. She handed her previously purchased ticket over to the lady before climbing on board. She traveled for hours crossing several state lines before her stop came up. She climbed off board and set out to find a home and job. Lexus soon discovered that without job experience she couldn't find a job, she was required to be at least 18 or 21 to live in most places, and money did not hold as great of value as she first thought. After three months she learned to only get a motel room when she needed the bath and free breakfast, where to perform without being arrested or chased away, and the types of people who she could win pity from. She was slowly learning how great a mistake she had made, but there was nothing inside of her that wanted to take it back.
At age twenty-one, she got a job and apartment and began to work throughout the days and perform at nights. Before long she enrolled in college classes and learned how much a blessing her sleep disorder was. One day as she helped a customer they noticed that they had seen her face before. They were sure that she was the girl from back home who had disappeared and who's parents were still offering a reward for. Lexus panicked at their words and excused herself to quickly return home and begin packing. Once she had all her things packed she retrieved all of her money from the top of the closest and turned to leave. She then saw a strange young woman seated upon her bed legs crossed. Lexus stammered in shock and confusion as the lady smiled politely. She began to explain to Lexus why she was there, and told her that she understood her panic but that she had a solution. She spoke of a home for Lexus where she could find a real family and the perfect job. She smiled as she talked of her home, and something about her and the things she said made Lexus know that it was the place she belonged. She is now in Lolam Vaed where she works as a 24/7 nurse at Perfuguim Hill, and has found a true love for the patients she called family.
