All of the Hermits retain physical "symptoms" of their deaths in Demise. For example, Jevin is plagued by constant headaches, and the ones who died to lava have very high body heat- not sure what the other deaths would have, but the thought's there.

Continuing off my previous headcanon regarding remnants of Demise deaths, TFC laughs when he's in pain as a remnant of his death. Since he still laughs normally, too, everyone gets worried about him a lot, since it's often hard to tell whether he's genuinely happy or nearly dead.

Like many Hermitcraft fans, I am a Helsknight simp, but like, more for the story implications. And having as much of a buzzing imagination as I do, I decided to dump some headcanons for a few other, hypothetical evil!Hermits- mostly some of the more underrated Hermits, since I primarily prefer to watch them.

Keralis: Greed. Pure, unadulterated greed. Probably rips into his good counterpart for how easily he falls into his gambling addiction, but that’s just pure hypocrisy on Evil K’s part- he’ll take any risk for an extra diamond in his pocket. Eyes are an unamused half-lidded shape. Main resentment point is how willing the others are to take advantage of Keralis’ addiction for their own ends. (No I absolutely did not write this while listening to Pokey Hole on loop what makes you say that)

Joe: You know that AU I mentioned where Joe snaps and starts burning other people’s diamonds and plotting to destroy the shopping district in order to save the others from themselves? That, but without the selfless motive. Very sinister, speaks in riddles. Probably has a different symbol on his shirt, but I’m not sure what. Main resentment point, as mentioned, is how blinded by greed everyone tends to be- definitely clashes hard with Evil K.

TFC: Just… so sick and tired of everybody’s nonsense. Just wants to blow everything up so he can exist in peace.

Zedaph: Probably some similar motives to Evil TFC, just wanting to vibe without a war happening outside his window every ten minutes, but I mean. This is Zedaph we’re talking about here. You know how many villains’ plans get toppled because they made the plans needlessly complex? Evil Zed wouldn’t even be much of a threat because of that.

Keralis is an alien. His permanently-shocked face, which can never change shape but can do the “wingding eyes” thing to express, is just a normal aspect of his species, and “Shishwammy” and “Bubbles” are just how “Xisuma” and “Bdubs” are pronounced in his mother tongue. Nobody else on the server knows, not even the aforementioned two- mostly because it’s a bit of a taboo to just ask someone their species, but also because, after being locked up in Area 77 on suspicions of being just that, he’s never felt more unsafe.

(Ack, sorry for sending so many, I just have Thoughts-) Wels refuses to admit it even to himself, but he actually sort of resents the others for forgetting him. That buried resentment was inherited and embraced by Hels, and is his main reason for wanting to destroy the server.

Ah yes, the angst potential is strong with this one~

Wels is under a sleep-curse, and while the worst of it was lifted, he’s still irresistibly compelled to go to sleep the moment the sun sets, often to the point of passing out where he stands. He’s not sure he’ll ever shake the fear he feels in the final moments before passing out that he’ll wake up to being abandoned again.

On the topic of his abandonment trauma, he suffers from intense monophobia, but wouldn’t admit it if his continued existence depended on it.

I have an Evil!Joe AU that I sum up as "Joe's diamond aversion is now everybody else's problem", where the thing with Jevin and Cub set him on top of the slippery slope and Cleo pushed him down. He decides that diamonds are only causing the server to rip itself apart- so clearly, he's justified in looting and burning everyone else's diamonds while they're out, right? There's nothing wrong with seriously considering blowing up the shopping district, right? It's for everyone's own good, after all!

See? This is why Joe should be mayor.

Honestly, I like to base my evil AUs a little more on the concept of, like, buried resentment. I feel the Hermits have a TON of that because they just... refuse to talk about anything. They just keep convincing themselves that it's all fun and jokes and there's no hard feelings, but it gets pretty paper-thin after a while. Someone make these idiots sit down and talk before their repressed rage takes on a physical form and destroys them all.
